Do you remember the socket size for the drain plug? I’m old and fat and would like to reduce the number of times I have to get up after manoeuvring myself under the car 😊 Thanks.
The coolant flows through the heater matrix all the time. There's no valve so it bleeds regardless. The cold setting just moves an air flap to bypass the heater matrix.
Yea some systems do that, some have a valve. Never really investigated what type this was but makes sense to be a flap, but I always leave it on hot when bleeding it up anyway yo make sure it’s circulating.
That depends on the cooling system. In my car the hot/cold selector opens&closes a valve in the coolant hose that feeds the mateix. Air always blows over the mateix, it I can choose if the Coolant circulates through that part of the circuit or not, therefore controlling the temperature of the air coming out of the vents.
Thanks! Really it just needs switching to hot, but best off having the fan on to make sure it’s circulating through the matrix. Just put the fan on low speed though or else it could stop the car reaching temperature to open the thermostat properly and fully bleed the system in cold weather.

I always thought wynns = snake 🐍 oil 🛢. In this case it would seem not. Looked like you could have left just plain water in it overnight. That coolant at end of video looked a little foamy.
This is great instruction, I'll follow this to the letter when I change the coolant mid week.

Is it necessary to use Toyota approved coolant because of possible water pump failure?
Any brand coolant should be fine, as long as it’s the right spec

Tried flushing and changing the coolant of my C1, but I couldn't for the life of me get that 14mm bolt off.
What did you use to get yours off?
If it’s tight, try a long handle ratchet with a good quality 6 point socket
Anyone know what size the copper washer for the drain plug is?
I think it’s 12mm or so, but can’t remember for sure. Sorry.
