Great review. Just picked up a new m5 myself , yet to game it , but I hit several demo m5s extremely well in all cases better than the new sim2 max. Loved the sound , had gamed a Ping G for years and honestly it was a superb driver , but I inwardly wince at that expected clangy Ping sound. Mishits. The M5 is smooth and slick , great colors as you say very F1 , and has a nice thumpy feel to it. Thanks for your review , helped me decide.
Hi Andy good review. I recently hit the M5 at my local Golftown here in Canada. I found the club to feel lighter which gave me higher swing speeds and of course more distance. The look and sound of a club never really is a factor for me and I lean towards the end results more, but this club looks and feels terrific and I was getting consistently good numbers. I have never been a fan of Taylormade and their marketing but the numbers don't lie so I just might put this club in my bag. But first I'll do a bit more testing and fitting to ensure I get the right shaft for max benefits especially at this price point. I currently have 2 sets of clubs, one in Florida and my set here in Canada. The Florida driver is the Ping G400 max and the Canada driver is a Cobra ZL, both in stiff flex.
Thx for these videos, Andy! I do wonder if the critics of the marketing claims would sell any drivers if they were in charge of marketing; i.e., in this era of COR, companies aren't going to hit their sales targets without exaggerated marketing claims.
It's not just a TaylorMade thing. Reviewers, like Andy, are offered soon-to-be-released clubs by companies with the stipulation that they can't talk about the clubs until the embargo is over, which might coincide with the official launch date of the clubs.
I’ve watched this twice now . . . I’m curious about the ability to bespoke the driver to the individuals game . . . I may try this out but I do think it’s not a one visit fit and may need several tweaks to see if it really works. Whilst I share some of the scepticism others advance . . trying it out costs nothing
Love your channel Andy. But let's face it this is TM marketing nonsense. I'm sure it's a good club. But the idiotic marketing message that comes with it is infuriating. Don't bow down to it. Keep it real mate.
Your assessment and opinion of any club is good but do we need to hear the speed form/ resin / twist face marketing. It is the same for all manufacturers. If it cannot be measured or proven it is misleading. The unique value you provide is the view of the average amateur golfer and this would be enhanced if you gave your opinion of a club and you just ignored the marketing nonsense. This would help the average golfer's buying decisions. It would not be cynical to question unproven marketing, it would be a common sense approach, It would be cynical if scientifically proven results were ignored.

Andy I think they made an illegal club and they used injection foam to bring it back to legal and it's the same as a m3 and m4. Just my opinion.
The launch boils down to the shaft try it with a lower launch stiff flex shaft

Alongside the M6 review another detailed and honest review for the M5.
Thanks
Is that with the new camera Andy? Picture not as sharp as before on my device?
marketing hype, , they just increased the loft and lowered spin.
We had "speed foam"....now we have "Slow resin!"....you have to laugh don't you!
What is this "embargo" thing about? Just a TaylorMade thing or is it something else?

Beware of the speed, almost illegal speed!
The Average Golfer are you getting slack from saying Tiger Woods would never win again? Dont worry I'll still follow you.
Thanks
