Beautiful! Another budget friendly tip for anyone pinching pennies is to use horse hair shoeshine brushes to apply wax topcoats. They are used for cleaning and applying wax to shoe leather, and work very well on smaller wood projects.

The color is incredible. You’ve inspired me so much!
Last week I became the proud owner of an inherited hoarder house. In this hoard there’s about 100 years worth of furniture, some dating as far back as the 1850s, maybe older. As one would expect, all of it is damaged in some way. One coffee table was damaged so far beyond repair (thanks to decades of houseplants being watered on it) that it had to be taken to the dump. But all the other furniture I would LOVE to save. I have beautiful heywood Wakefield furniture I desperately want to save as well and use, of course.
Last night I had my RUclips on autoplay and your videos came up! Suddenly I’m binge watching and I now know there’s a way to save all of these family heirlooms, even the ones that are on the edge of needing to be tossed.
Thank you so much for your videos and keep up the great work!

You made this so much more challenging for yourself than any of the other YT Challengers will do. I appreciate what you did with your cost breakdown but any other challenge like this I've seen, creators just calculate the amount of a product they used, they don't buy expensive mini-sized portions or modify their product / tool selections due to cost. For example, one of the other challengers used their surf-prep sander, etc.
That being said, I really admire your adherence to the budget, as I think the idea is to showcase what you can do with a limited budget even as a beginner. Plus your furniture piece is, as always, stunning. Thanks for another great video

I chose to do it this way on purpose, as I was gearing the challenge more towards beginners who may not have all of the products already on hand. I knew it would be more challenging, but I wanted to approach from the standpoint of someone just starting out :-) Thank you so much for watching!

I had a vanity very similar to that when I was a child. I inherited the whole bedroom set from my grandma. As a teen in the 90s, I thought it was ugly and had my mom give it all away. 😖 I think she may still have the dresser. Now my style has changed and I cringe at tossing those pieces of furniture. I love what you did to this piece. Turning the vanity into nightstands is so clever.

Awesome job!! They came out amazing! If you ever do more nightstands, maybe consider staging with a blow-up mattress with a faux headboard to get a feel for how it’d look in a bedroom. Love the end result! 🤩

My grandmother had a vanity similar to that. 1930s I would say. I love it.
