Advice from my Italian father: Get ready to see a lot of laundry and bring your own toilet paper. My advice? Do not miss the elevator ride to the top of the bell tower at St. Giorgio Maggiore. Enjoy the most unique city in the world - before it's gone or too expensive for the likes of you.

Just back from Venice and I can endorse all this excellent advice. There were no wretched cruise ships but plenty of people. It is still possible to wander off and avoid the crowds in the back streets - you may get lost but it's fun. And we just took the ordinary water taxi to Burano - all included in a three day water bus pass, ate well, drifted around, paid a visit to Murano late in the day, and enjoyed the ride back.

Treviso is a great spot near Venice with airport as well. You can find a great apartment like "palazzina trevigiana" or "chiarano home" near the train station and then go by to Venice easily because are only 25 minute of train. Treviso is a super cool city as well, so I think is the best way to visit 2 great city in one trip 🎉

Hi Giulia, thank you so much for your videos they are so helpful!
I was just wondering do you know how late the trains run until in Venice? My family and I will be doing a day trip here during our stay in Florence. Aside from wandering around and enjoying Venice, we'd also love to visit Burano and maybe Murano as well. I booked a 5 hour tour to visit both places, but now I'm worried we might be too rushed around to enjoy it so was debating on doing it ourselves.
    • Do you know how long it would take to get to each of those places by boat?
    • Is it possible to take a boat ride from Murano to Burano or do you have to go back to Venice first ?
    • Where would we have to get on the boat in Venice to go to Murano or Burano?
Sorry for all the questions, thanks for your time !

Hey Tina, you can check the trains schedule on Trenitalia.it to plan your trip.
In 1 day you won't have much time to visit Venice, I personally would not suggest doing the Islands tour because they would take up a long time. However if you want to go, maybe you could try to go with public transport and only visit Murano and Burano, however you won't be able to do so in less than 4 hours.

hey, thanks for your message! If you don't have much time, I'd suggest you to stay in Venice city center, and not in Mestre. There are many tours departing for Venice Islands, you can find them here: shorturl.at/sBZ13
Please note that many of them include also Murano and Torcello: be mindful of their duration and of the time you'll need to go back to the airport. If you are flying from Marco Polo Airport, consider as well a boat transfer to the airport: shorturl.at/lFPQ7
Let us know how it goes!

    Hi
I have booked a ticket to Venice in mid of September.
I am confused about buying a ACTV Vaporetto pass.
Is the pass works for every boat?
Can I go to Murano and Burano Island using ACTV PASS?
    Thanks

Hi Mohd, yes ACTV is the public transport company in Venice: if you buy a Pass it will work for all the Vaporetti ACTV (they account for the largest fleet) and you can also reach Venice islands. In the video description you can find the link to purchase the Pass 😊

7.50 Euros is expensive for you guys? I guess if you do it too often it adds up, but I read that you can take a ferry for just 2 Euros. Speaking if which, I'm now reading that you need to make a "reservation" to visit. Is this true?

Hey Brian, yes from January it may be necessary to pay to access Venice, and the price will vary depending on how much people are already inside it, we'll update you as soon as it's official! 🤗
