You can change the extension of any file on your computer to an audio ext. When you try to play it/load it into a daw it'll play the file. It allows you to generate corruption sfx easily.
I always watch these vids fully convinced you're one of those 5 million+ subs big music guys on youtube, just because how good the production and the flow of videos is. Synthesis has been slow for me lately, but watching your various stuff always rekindles the love.
Thank you SO much for bringing this to my attention! Normally I look for many different obscure plugins, but I could’ve never found something as wonderful as this! This might take my sound design to the next level
This whole process took me 20 minutes and I ended up with some awesome sounding FX and fills for a song I'm making (after some post processing) - thanks so much man! Love the content
I love the texture that a thin layer of glitch can add to a track. I call it the mechanical insect layer and Richard Devine is a master at it. I have a eurorack module called the Future Retro Transient Plus, a bit of a mouthful, but with 4 knobs creates that nice texture for me and sounds great with a random reverb sprinkled throughout to let some of the hits to linger and shine. Cheers.
Dude I was having a long discussion/studio session on granular synthesis and synthesizers with a friend and with this tutorial, you just took our session to a whole new level! Thanks Cameron, keep up the good work :)
I used Bxfr to generate about 150 noises and followed this process. Had great results! I couldn't get export MIDI file in Blip to work though... the MIDI files only had a few events in them and some weird, like 10000 measure long notes. My goal was to match a Battery drum kit with what Blip pulled in from the finished samples. That way I could use the generated patterns in my daw and then make edits and variations more conveniently... Sadly that didn't work. Still really happy with the results.
I do the thing that blip does by dropping in a folder into Logic sampler. I get 8 octaves of stuff. then I have a Midi region/clip with 1 bar long notes on every note.. I then use the arpeggiator to make random! this is brilliant!
Lord all mighty, thank you for bestowing upon Cameron the knowledge of a plugin that allowed this buckaroony to sit in jis room for two hours today with no pants making glitches. Amen
great video!! i was thinking as an alternative to blip for ableton users, you could always use 128 racks (i also remembered you can also do 128’s in bitwig)
ABOUT BLIP BEING ONLY ON WINDOWS: there’s a programs called Wine that let’s you run Windows programs on Mac & Linux. This is _extremely_ useful as a Linux producer. I run (most) of my VSTs through it. It’s not as stable or fast as Windows, but it’ll work.
@@herschoolcolors sorry, I haven’t tried it. I had to move back to windows cuz before I found this I got a new PC and haven’t yet installed windows on it, should have mentioned that...

Nice video as always. I'm currently working as a software developer and consider electronic music production as a hobby I really love. But I don't have a clear plan on how to make this hobby financially feasible. Would you care to do a video tutorial on how to become financially sustainable in music production? Some sort of a to-do plan and maybe how to do each step?

How many GB of RAM do you need to run these plugins smoothly? Cause I’m planning to buy a notebook and still dunno what’s the best budget option. I’ve been producing for 3 years with iOS devices and I think they’re pretty limited for what I want to achieve musically and technically.
Yo! Generally speaking, I would advise around 16gb of RAM for a production computer paired with a fast processor. Notebooks generally have some lower end parts, so it may not be the best choice. I would check for 'refurbished' computers (gaming laptops especially) as you'd probably get a better value for the money. My wife's big gaming laptop was 'refurbished' (meaning someone returned it after never using it, the box was just opened) and she saved about $500 off the sticker price.
@@VenusTheory yeah.. I noticed that many so called 'gamer laptops' are also great for music producing for their processing and rendering characteristics.. so Imma check some refurbished options in my region. thanks a lot for your attention, subscribed!
