    If you haven’t already yet, you can set each sample to host a 128 sampler. You can lay the midi down and then assign the sample selector to a knob and get essentially infinite results!
    Add an arpeggiator to that and use a jittery lfo to change the arpeggiator rate and you’re well off the deep end.
    If you get madness you can actually select pieces of audio and set those clips to beats mode to quantized transients.
    And don’t forget to process audio with reversing/pitching etc for extreme variation.
    Or you can throw the whole thing into simpler and set the warp mode to texture and stretch it way out to find nee sample chops non destructively.
    This is my jam lol.

    When listening to Solar Fields it sounds like some of the glitch percs are vinyl pops. I took a vinyl sample and isolated some crackled and amplified them and they came out good

    Yo this is this is this is what i ve been searching for years not just this video but this channel. 👏 👏 been listening to so much bass and especially freeform bass like wakaan. Everybody talking about how to make the bass but not the insane samples and glitches they use or whatever vst they are using to shift samples nobody even knows how to.

    Holy shit, i've always been put off by doing glitchy percussion as I thought (short of using paid plugins) it would be more manual than this. The tricks you showed in this video really allow me to have more or less control of the variations and this video killed that hesitation i had previously towards glitch drums. Gonna apply this to a shit ton of other things. Thanks a whole lot!

    If you only discovered glitch music a decade ago, I should recommend artists like Prefuse73, Squarepusher, Funkstorung, Dabrye, edIT. Go back to the 90s and listen to IDM music, (not EDM)
    Great video btw :)

    • @s1gns0fl1fe
      @s1gns0fl1fe  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the recommendations. In the video I was talking about a specific form of percussion - not the genre of "glitch music." I should have been more clear. There's a clear difference from the type of percussion I'm presenting here, but you are correct the roots of this type of sound are found in the music of the pioneers of IDM.

    How did you load the samples into a drum rack?
    Did you use the audio clip to slice transients to new midi clip? I can't seem to get that hi-hat sound when I make the glitch kit according to this method. I get too many events that sound like notes, and instead of rhythmic material I just get robotic noises. I've tried making the decay shorter but I still cant get them to sound like short transients.

    Are you playing random notes on your midi controller when you record into session view? Or did you plan the arrangement in time?

    • @s1gns0fl1fe
      @s1gns0fl1fe  Год назад

      They're not random. You can be methodical with your note placement, just as you would if you were recording a sequence. Percussion and rhythmic sequencing are very similar. Hope that helps!
