Great video. Thanks for doing this. Got a BakFlip arriving this week. Excellent example of doing an install with a stogie and *not* burning your hand. Just remember, "teeth aren't tools". Oh, wait, never mind. They work fine :)
Just curious of a follow up. Did the cover get installed? How is the fit? I plan on ordering a 2022 Ridgeline, just doing my homework on what cover to go with.
Hello, I currently trying to install the MX4 on a 2023 Honda, the inner space between the rails is 56 1/2 and the panels are 57 1/4. The question I have did you have to force the front panel into position behind the cab or did it go in easily? Thanks for you video and your feed back to me. I have checked with Bakflip and they assured me that the panel width is correct for the Honda at 57 1/4 inches.
Great video - I just did an install today and it helped me a lot. There are a couple of mistakes though. Based on the instructions and a vendor install video (ruclips.net/video/YRX3oNjHq5A/видео.html - it's for the Fibermax version but the Ridgeline specific rails are the same), for the first set of rails, the black mounting brackets should be sandwiched between the clamp and the threaded backing plate. You have the black plates on the outside in all four corners (see 3:30 in the video). Also, the rubber bumper strips (around 5:50) are intended to be installed in between the cover and the cab of the truck to protect the cab from being damaged when the cover is all the way folded (see ruclips.net/video/YRX3oNjHq5A/видео.html around 8:50) up against the cab. So further up than you show in the video. I agree the instructions suck!
You only have to do that step if the side rails are higher then the bulk head. Every Ridgeline I have seen has a cap on the bulkhead so it was not needed. My Silverado on the other hand didn’t have the cap, so rather then use the weather strip I bought a bulkhead cap instead.
No they just lay on top but if you drive on a forest road or gravel road it will rub and leave marks. I still have it on my truck and barely has scratches
Never rains here so I have not. There is a slit at the back wall of the bed for water to drain. I just left the drain tube next to it just in case I go to the car wash. But if you do drill drain plugs, I recommend drilling the floor of the bed and not the wall of it like most people do.. let me know if this helps out.
Opens and closes fine. does not stick like some do. sometimes when you pull the cord it only unlocks the latch closest to the cord your pulling so sometimes you need to tug a bit harder than normal to release the hatch lid.
The rubber bumpers you put on are in the wrong position! They should be on the last panel to open so the can rest up against the cab so it doesn't scratch or rub the paint!
I did not know that. Thank you for the heads up. I just looked at it and it's still holding strong and no paint rub. Thanks for the advice, I hope others will read it.
Yo JimmyVoid Sit down talking Truth. I’m gonna reach out and hook you up with one of my friends. He had a Porsche. Wants to ask some questions from the Blue Line Garage👍🏻I’ll hit ya up
Great video, thanks for doing an install video on a Ridgeline. Once the cover is installed how far will the bed trunk cover open?. Does it hit the newly installed rails?
@@BlueLineGarage Sorry, I think you misunderstood my question. There is a trunk in the bed of the Ridgeline. When you open the trunk lid, does it open all the way past the Undercover installed rails? Not how far does the Undercover open. Thanks
I just installed mine and the trunk lid is hitting the rails. It is a 2021. Not sure if it is because of it being new or what. I'm about to set the cover on the rails. We'll see!!
Nope. Had a rain storm for 3 days straight and when it stopped, I opened the tailgate and no water was found inside. Just make sure you connect the 2 drain plugs.
Blue Line Garage yeah I researched the snot out of the Ridgeline and it’ll be all I need aside from getting that bed cover and maybe some running boards
@@crimglory very true. The truck itself is pretty well built and cant think of anything to upgrade. Maybe change the reverse lights to bright white LED... maybe a roof rack over the roof... that's about it.
Telling me about the holding up struts without demonstrating them was a very poor choice. Video was worthless once you chose to not demonstrate that function.

Thanks for the instructions installing mine tomorrow, you rocked that cigar like a boss!!

Thanks dude a friend just brought 2021 black edition in white thanks for showing me out to install it just waiting for it to come looks simple thank u

JimmyVoid in the garage💯🤟🏻
Strangely enough I sneezed at the same time! Also I think one of the bumpers is for when the cover rest against the rear window
Haha.. thats funny.. yeah when it folds up. Figured that one out.
Very helpful sir, thank you.

been so long I do not remember but I also do not remember having much of an issue with mine. still working great
Is smoking a cigar part of the installation process?
Yes it is.. but a good cigar not no gas station cigar!
Great vid💯

Would this install work for a 2020 Ridgeline?
@@BlueLineGarage has it leaked on you?
*Sneeze* God Bless You!
Haha.. thank you brother...
Golf green 💪🏻👍🏻
You skipped the second rail that goes on to of the Ridgeline specific adapter rail.
Do you have to put a foam/rubber weather strip seal on the bulkhead at the head of the bed under the rear window?
No I didn't but it wouldn't hurt

Do the rails scrape the edge of the Trunk lid when it is fully opened?

Where does the drain tube go ?
the corner of the bed or you will need to drill a hole.
Did you have to drill out a hole for the drain hoses??
Never rains here so I have not. There is a slit at the back wall of the bed for water to drain. I just left the drain tube next to it just in case I go to the car wash. But if you do drill drain plugs, I recommend drilling the floor of the bed and not the wall of it like most people do.. let me know if this helps out.

It only opens about 80 percent of normal. Enough to get things in and out easy enough. Just installed mine this evening.
