For anyone watching this if you happen to buy the factory Stihl piston stop like he’s using, the threads may be cut poorly from the factory. I bought a brand new one and it would only go one thread in the spark plug hole. I used an M10x1.0 die to clean the threads up on the tool and it fixed it, threads in perfectly now.

I just tore my 600 down for bad crank bearing before it seized anything. Everything looks good just one bad bearing. Any good video of removing and installing the bearing. I’m guessing the timing is off also now.

Hey David I do have a video on rebuilding the engine and setting timing but no video on pulling the bearing which side is the bad bearing on?

Matthew Rushing bad bearing is on the impeller side behind the gear. The other side is not as bad.

I've replaced the flywheel side bearing before with a used one but never the fan wheel side Stihl doesn't even offer the bearings as a separate item. You have to order the whole crankshaft assembly which is around $200 retail I'd be happy to see if i can get the bearing off that side with the gear and do a video on it. Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Matthew Rushing that would be great ! Looks like I can order bearing 3 rd party. There all over it just no videos of proper installs.

Great video. Do you have one on fixing the seals? My br600 is leaking some I think

Hey there I don't have anything on just replacing the seals but if they are worn I'm sure the engine pan gasket needs to be redone as well but you'll have to pull the engine to do so. Stihl makes a seal puller/remover but its fairly expensive and makes more sense to pull the engine and carefully remove the engine pan and replace the seals as well as redo the RTV engine pan gasket material. You can get some at your local hardware just make sure it's high temp that's what they use from the factory and be careful not to screw with the timing or you can pull it apart for fun and inspect the internals as well but you'll have to reset the timing then good luck! Your questions are appreciated so ask away if needed thanks!

Chainsaw Matt thanks! I may just sell the blower and buy the br 800 or the pb8010. I’m not too familiar with taking the whole blower apart. May be more of an undertaking than I can handle. What do you think about the bigger blowers ?
