Outside of the guide wires, the design is fine. If you're wearing out plastic sleeves, it's because you aren't greasing them as recommended by Stihl in the directions which came with your Kombi attachments. You have to grease those PLASTIC sleeves periodically.

Say hand, some of you fellers makin these videos to help out your neighbors do a pretty good job of it, and I thank you for takin the trouble to do that there. I was just watching this one here, and youre dropping drive shafts and using the Stihl janky took with your wrong hand all causa you are trying to hold up a camera to show us all what youre lookin at, and it crossed my mind, why dont somebody come out with a youtuber how-to video, cap cam. You know a decent little camera that will clip right there on the bill of a trucker cap, or baseball whatever you wanna call it, that pretty much shows just what the youtube content creator is seeing as he is trying to show something to a buncha youtube content consumers? Anyhow, I'm gonna shut up and watch the rest of the video now.

Crap engineering design Stihl. Instead of relying on the clamp and a plastic key to prevent rotation when using the tools you need a metal pawl like Husqi uses.

Wallys workin has a video on that.. pan bolts vibrate loose and the bolts and pan will have to be replaced.

Any ideas on a slipping drive shaft? The shaft turns the attachment but with no torque. As soon as you load it, the tool just slips. It happened last summer, took it to the shop, they called the next day said it was all set...just had to tighten a bolt, no charge. Service tech wasn't there so I couldn't find out more. It worked fine through the winter with the blower. Used the blower today, then the power sweeper, then the blower again. All worked fine, then went to use the power sweeper again and it would turn slowly until I put it on the ground then it would stop moving. I have no idea what bolt or device needs tightening or if there is even such a part to tighten. I see a lot of information about the drive shafts and bushings but nothing about the shaft turning but with no torque to make the attachments work. Thank you!

Carefully wire wheel or sand the transferred metal on the Wrist Pin or new Wrist Pin. Next carefully hone the Rod Bushing until Wrist Pin slides in smooth with some play to allow lubrication. The newer redesigned 600 definitely don't have enough tolerance to allow lubrication. I hone any brand new replacement to prevent. Use Amsoil Saber 7:01 (2oz per gallon) or Echo Red Armor 50:01.

I'm doing some repairs on my Stihl Kombi 130R and need help on adjusting the timing. The pull flows smoothly before I install the spark plug, but when the spark plug is in it only pulls a short distance then I hit resistence. Any ideas?

2024 and I've got a combi with several attachments which quit working properly. Took it to the dealer who gave me a brand new edger attachment. THEN replaced the combi drive shaft and coupler housing. It worked for about two hours then wouldn't connect again. It's back in the shop now.

For anyone watching this if you happen to buy the factory Stihl piston stop like he’s using, the threads may be cut poorly from the factory. I bought a brand new one and it would only go one thread in the spark plug hole. I used an M10x1.0 die to clean the threads up on the tool and it fixed it, threads in perfectly now.

Interesting...my KM 55 Kombi motor, about 18 years old, has a completely different type of carb and filter kit. I'm have an incredible time finding a replacement for it. :(

Thank you very much for posting this video. I was able to follow you and easily replace the brake handle on my saw. It is gratefully appreciated.

Replaced my housing- this helped my confidence to tackle the job thanks. Hardest part was putting the hose back into the oil tank, poked it all the way through a few times. Saved me £200 mate.

Is the 024 a crankcase engine like the 026 ?

This was helpful for all the part #'s, and it's helpful to see how these pieces come apart, so thx. Since you hammer those plastic sleeve retainer bushings on all the time, perhaps you'd consider chasing that heated bushing with a long & snug enough piece of steel tube stock so you get equal force on the bushing as you drive it over the teeth. The hammer & combo wrench method is ok if you're out on a jobsite somewhere, but since you're in your workshop, servicing other people's expensive equipment *and* putting it on YT for all to see your repair facility & operational techniques, there may be another way.

I had a stuck bushing on the head. And I took it off sanded it down to fit to allow movement again. Put it all back together and now it won't start .. any idea why?

Freaking saved me BIG TIME today!! Kombi blower wasn't working right; thought it was the blower itself. Took it apart (so I know how THAT works now, LOL) and found one of the guide clips from the the drive unit inside the coupling / sleeve of the blower. It wasn't broken, had just vibrated out of the holes I guess. Took the coupling off the drive unit, put the guide clip back into place (also tapped the other down to seat it a little better) reassembled and VOILA! it works like a swiss watch. Thanks a million! Appreciate the help! For those of us without the spring puller tool, I found I could reattach the spring using a slotted (flat) screwdriver: (1) On a hard flat surface, jam screwdriver blade into spring coil near hook or "left" side looking at chainsaw in Matt's video, (2) Attach right side of spring on lever slot while holding spring with screwdriver, (3) pull spring left and push in spring once loop is around axle on left side, (4) relax spring and pull out screwdriver blade. This video leaves out just a few things, but, wow, you saved me! I had a friend borrow my 250 and brought it back with the housing melted to the point that oil could not get to the bar even after a clutch and oil pump replacement. This took me several hours over a couple of days, but everything is good now. Thanks so much!

Hi, thank you for the video. I have the KM 56 R motor. About 75% of the time when I insert the FS-KM string trimmer attachment it breaks the gray coupler, gets stuck, and cannot go to the red line. I manually disassemble and reassemble with a new coupler. I go through 10+ couplers a year on the string trimmer. My Stihl edger attachment works fine! Thoughts?

My exact problem! Just ordered 5 pack of plastic sleeves! Mine is missing stop inside tube. Also learned from another video that drive line should be greased each season! Not in manual!

You don’t show how to get it unstuck

Is there an alternative way to replace the intake manifold and ring besides removing the engine on the MS 180C? Engine runs bad and a carb kit and adjustment didn't change anything. Piston and cylinder is score free. My Brake-Kleen test stalls the idling engine when sprayed in the area of the intake manifold.
