Thank you so much for this. I was under the impression that there was nothing between chest and head voice except for belting, and that if you weren't belting, you had to find a way to transition from chest to head smoothly. This mixed register makes a lot more sense. Now I can apply this to my karaoke night songs!

I never knew we could use mixed voice through out our range, i thought it was just way to sing higher notes.

Dear Freya, I can't stop listening your tips, because to me they are great lessons. I was looking at lot of other teachers channels, but you are the best giving even opera tips. Thank you so much. I just wanted to ask you perhaps silly qestion. I have noticed that singers have kind of visible veins on their neck while singing. Why?

thank you for all your great content! I can do mixed voice when i sing it soft, up to g4 (men). But when I try to put more weight behind it, it becomes more like a screaming sound, not a good tone. I've always been taught that singing soft weakens the voice. What do you think about this :)?

I have question why everybody I see who can belt or has mixed voice can sing higher than headvoice because they can belt into head voice. which leads to there whistle register....

But mixed register is not always breathy is it? This is the first time I've ever heard of mixed register being a breathy style of singing.

I thought whispering is greatly damaging for vocal cords.

It's okay in moderation as long as you're not forcing out an excessive amount of air. She's just using it as a tool to demonstrate the feeling of the mixed register. It wouldn't harm you to do these exercises for a couple minutes a day.
