- Lago di Sorapis is a popular hike located outside of Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Dolomites of Northern Italy. This hike is about 8 miles/13KM and brings you to the most beautiful turquoise lake in a picturesque mountain setting. This was filmed in August.

This is simply freaking stunning! The Dolomites are outstanding, I was there a month ago and I look forward to coming again. Cadini di Misurina is a trail that can be told to grandchildren.😄

The color is amazing, I can't tell if Sorapis or Moraine lake in Canada is more turquoise.

Each glacial lake in limestone mountains produces this color ,each is unique too.
Great video, all about the hike and not a monologue lost in superlatives and giggles, thank you, that was refreshing vs other channels ! I'm heading to the Dolomites in June with my wife and we aren't seasoned hikers but do enjoy it and have some modest experience. I've got issues with heights (yeah.. not great) when hiking exposed on cliffsides but will try and manage. Only 4 days, any favorite day hikes you'd recommend ? Trying to establish an itinerary but it's challenging :)

I don't think you will have any issues with fear of heights on this.
When did you do this hike? What month?
I will be there at the beginning of April, do you think the lake will still be frozen?
We hiked this in July of 2022 - not sure about snow levels in April as I am not local. My gut would tell me that some snow would still be present though.
