    I just have to say… As someone who has fought his own mental health and thoughts for years, your videos bring me peace. Normally seeing the top of a mountain immediately makes me want to make the leap, but your videos not only show the top of the mountains but also calm me down and make realize there are other reasons for being all the way up there… Thank you

    Would b nice if you could interview the cabin keeper….)how long he’s doing this, how long he is up there, his mountain experience, stories ….)
    How they built the cabin…
    How is the maintenance of the place….

    My father climbed the Marmolada when he was only nine years old. Together with his two years older brother, his father and mother. They had booked an Italian mountain guide for this trip, but he doubted whether it was a good idea to take such young children up. My grandfather explained it a bit and said: “They can climb well, my boys already have a lot of experience with hiking in the mountains despite their age”. The guide hesitated but turned a blind eye. On the way they had to cross a large ice bridge on the glacier. My grandfather asked the guide how strong it was, the guide replied: "I expect that this bridge will not be there next week or the week after". So they walked over the bridge, my grandfather was the back of the rope group and behind him the ice bridge collapses. All in all it was the best climb my father has made.

    Nice video and efforts! Brought to me some memories when I climbed Marmolada 3 years ago and had the honor to stay the night with the Austrian mountaineer Hansjörg Auer, who sadly died only months after with David Lama and Jess Roskelley on the descent after reaching the summit of Howse Peak in Banff National Park of the Canadian Rockiesq, three of the best Alpinists in the world. R.I.P to them and also those who died in Marmolada

    Dolomites is still one of my favorite places on this planet. The peaks are just so unique. Last time I was there, Marmolad sadly already hat to much snow and ice but I did multiple tours on the sub-3000 peaks arround it and its always an iconic landmark.

    Un altro fantastico video per abbracciare la regina delle dolomiti. La ferrata che porta in cima (che io ho fatto d'estate in gioventù), con quelle condizioni di freddo, neve e ghiaccio e nell'orario in cui l'hai affrontata ha richiesto un notevole coraggio e una grande concentrazione, ma poi l'accoglienza al caldo dell capanna Punta Penia è stato il giusto premio per questa nuova straordinaria impresa solitaria. Le immagini delle Dolomiti si commentano da sole, ma quella notturna con la Via Lattea è da togliere il respiro! Complimenti e ad maiora.

      I don’t know about this peculiar one but I’d assume that like plenty others it is being supported by a few rounds of helicopter once in a while. Which makes refuges not very environmental friendly in the end, since even though their guests come walking, highly depend on fossil fuel too. Other refuges also have some staff or the manager walking back to the valley every few days to get some supplies, if the path is doable rather quickly and refuge doesn’t need hundred kilos of supplies/week. All in all, amazing experiences in many places, I wish everyone to live the simplicity and meditative state your mind reaches at those heights and in some mountain places :)

    • @rmcd0
      @rmcd0 Год назад

      Oh and I forgot 4x4 or agile quads with trailers, obviously, in some cases when the path is practicable. Some places in the Dolomites are actually re-supplied like this.
