So, I i was walking my dog yesterday and a group of JW men pulled up beside me. The older brother in the passenger's seat rolled down the window and said, "that's a nice dog." I said "thank you." Then he said, "would you like to know what the Bible says about that?" What?!?!?! That was the weakest, most disingenuous conversation starter I've ever heard in my life, (especially since I was a MS before I stopped going to the Hall). I just cut him off and said, "thanks, but my family are Witnesses and my father is an elder. I'm good."
I am so sick of the crap they spew. How many CSA victims and other victims have cried and prayed for Jehovah’s help? How many have looked to the “shepherds of the flock” for help? They should be called shepherds of don’t give a fugg.

Hey so I’ve enjoyed your content for a while now, around the age of 14 I started drifting away from the congregation, by 16 I was somewhat upset with wasting so many opportunities, and now at 18 I just want to be done with Witnesses. Your content is wonderful but I feel that I need to put the past behind me and watching ex-JW videos isn’t good for me since all I really want is to move on. Thank you for all the wonderful content and helping me through my deconversion.

I had a few books from the 40/50/60's extra in my collection, which I wanted to give away to my fellow Jay dupes or donate them to the library at our hall back in the late 2000's. No dice, better get rid of that old light!... they told me! Made me furious (on the inside)! I mean literature from around the time my granddad smuggled that 💩 and put his life/freedom in danger for! Them people put their ass on the line - and now that "more precious than gold" or any treasure of this world printed waste paper - was worth diddly squad!!! But those experiences left a few more cracks in the shiny glossy veneer of the WT cage I was trapped it. It's all so fake and phony - yet they even put lives in serious danger for that bullshit. 😵🤢🤮

I left another cult like the JWs and this could have been "us", jumping in to take the opportunity to evangelize.
When I left 8 months ago, one of the BEST things is that I can talk and act to people freely and authentic again. It feels great. Kindness is back to being kindness without agenda. That feels so good.
And as you said - I experienced much goodness of non-religious people too. I am still in the phase of being angry and feeling so sad about organised religion.

So funny, yesteday I saw a JW cart with two ladies, hiding in the least seen corner, it seems they try to avoid any encounter. The least the better.
So they can sip coffee and look at their I phones......
Even before Cart Witnessing, that was the typical behaviour of JWs, going back decades.
Do as little as humanly possible, in ways least visible to other JWs, but count it as being a HUGE sacrifice of time and effort for Jehovah on your monthly reports.
Hope for multiple "Not at home" and "Not interested" doors, so that you don't have to engage in real conversations or defend your indoctrinated beliefs to others(because, deep inside, you know it is all Cult malarkey).
Count the minutes between knocking on first door and going to the coffee shop; keeping it less than half an hr.

I pretty much quit high school when i was 16. I had always been near the top of my classes, and my dad actually wanted me to go to college for at least 2 years, but i knew better, i knew the world was ending soon so why put in any work? "Ride out these last days" seemed easy and cheap. 35 years later I'm still doing the same thing. I literally have nightmares about going to college and when i wake up in that weird state of mind it actually takes me a couple of minutes to remember I'm not in any college. Pretty much every day i regret that and it's not like my dad would've been deleted as an elder or anything, he'd pretty much stopped going to meetings by the time i was in high school and knew better for me than i did, but jehoover had to give first for me. Idiotic videos, i can't believe they're still putting education down. Even Mormons have esteemed universities.
Same age as you here, buddy. I also was convinced to believe and make the same "shit" choices. Thankfully, I managed to get some professional education after three years of 'pioneering', which taught me..... the organisation respects only rich and educated ones (only which they need ;-) ). I'm still upset about how I could stay indoctrinated so long(I faded after the astonishing "Royal Commission"). At least I raise my sons differently- they would have more choices, and I will always support their freedom. Please be happy with your current freedom and do not dwell on regrets- freedom is much better than illusionary dreams- whatever "time" is left for us. It may be short or long enough- but at least living the reality. That does not necessarily mean we WANT to live immoral lives (as Watchtower claims). They want to look perfect- when they aren't.

Happemed to me twice in USA last year . I had just arrived in USA and my UK card had been cancelled . The cashier in Target paid for it $27. Also I had overspent a voucher and someone paid the $9. As my wallet was in car . None were JW’s .. I’ve also helped people in similar situations. It’s not exclusive to JWs

I once had a Non-JW stranger secretly choose to pay for my lunch.
And yet, In all of the 12 1/2 yrs I was involved in that Cult, not once did Any JW show charity or compassion toward me and cover any of my expenses or losses.
JWs are the most SELFISH and EGOTISTICAL people I've ever known.
If they ever do or offer to do something for you; Know that their Narcissistic Egos have some kind of Agenda or that They are seeing themselves as something wonderful that they are not.

I feel like I would come under that catagory of being the vulnerable type that could be easily swayed by an org or community like this because I'm isolated and still live with my mum who is abusive and manipulative. And I need alot of help to escape. I could easily trust the wrong people who claim to help. but luckily I'm far too stubborn and have my own mind and determination to succeed on my own at all costs I would probably just go along with it take what they give to use them til I get on my feet then say see ya suckaaas. Yep. There was a caleb and sophia cartoon where sophia was shown wanting to get an A on her paper and be congratulated by the teacher for doing well in school. It was shown as a bad thing: giving into worldly desires instead of focusing on watchtower goals. No JW should want to excel in school. Just do enough to get a trade job where you can support your pioneering.

Ya even Starbucks has given me my coffee free twice because I didn’t have the $ for some reason. One time I forgot my wallet at home the other time I was young, my card bounced, I was getting paid the next day. So ya there’s no way they’d be that rude to her as a regular.

Anyone who expects you to sacrifice your money to these churches even when you needed more then ever are not good people. Dont give your money to these churches. I did it many times in the past and I haven't felt a single blessing. Help the poor instead for the Devas delight in it and you'll receive more merit then you would from donating to a corrupt organization
