@@lulucakelove WT had the charitable status removed a few years ago because the practice of shunning goes against people’s right to choose and leave a religion without consequences. WT contested this in court but the process didn’t appear to go well for WT, we should have the outcome fairly soon.

I love the fact, when you’re in the religion and life goes bad your told Jehovah does not act on behalf of individuals. He doesn’t protect us from trials…. I recently started hyperfixating on religious cults/organizations misusing power (can't explain why, probably because I myself grew up in a really fundamentalist christian country for some time, but that's just a theory) and your channel satisfies all cravings I have for this type of content, AND it's educational, so thanks a lot for putting this out there and alerting more people.

10:20 horrible flashback to 34 years ago when I told my wife jehovahs way is best. Tbh i should've never left her after i quit the cult. I almost thought I was doing her a favor since i was df'd. She called me a couple of years after the divorce after she realized i had a girlfriend to ask me if she was "spiritually free", if I've had sex. I replied are you kidding me, you really have to ask? Do what you want. I wish she'd have followed my path leaving the JWs, i miss her.

That guy reminded me a lot of the elders in the congregation I used to go, I hated them so much, when my dad passed away, they had the nerve to ask me to tell my desfellowshiped sister to leave the hospital, I started insulting them and calling them a cult and I asked them to leave, that was one of the biggest pleasures I've had in my life, to scream at them and ask them to leave

I have been out since 1983, I have never heard of anyone being disfellowshipped because of apostasy in my time except that time when I was removed. There was a brother in the local bethel branch here who treated me as his daughter when I was still in...and my sister, who remained active and in good standing until her demise last year, told me one time that everytime she visits bethel and sees this brother, he would ask about me, and would tell my sister that he continues to 'pray to jehovah' to 'guide me back to return to jehovah'. This brother recently passed away, a year before my sister passed away, and now they are both gone, and I am still out of the organization, with no intention at all of 'reactivating'...obviously their god has and will never answer their prayer, if he is even listening at all!

As you said at 30:25, no 'falsehoods' are described. At no point do they advocate listening to both sides or researching (as recommended in the bible when describing the Beroeans) it's just the constant and ubiquitous mantra of 'close yourself off to everything except what we tell you.'
