ABOUT ME: I’m a former Jehovah’s Witness who faded away from the religion around 2 years ago. I believe that current members of the organization deserve to be aware of the abuses committed by Watchtower. I am a big proponent of religious freedom and critical thinking, and invite my audience to be kind, open minded, and always stay curious.

As a West African(Naija), it is extremely easy to recognize the JW's as colonizers. Whether they are aware of that fact or in denial.
You are wise
Thank you, unfortunately most of our African people are so thoroughly brainwashed, and they see even slavery as necessary to bring the colonizer's religion.
Fellow Naija
The biggest joke I have ever had played on me was by JW’s. I was scammed out of 50+ years that cannot ever be replaced!
That's so horrible 😪
My brother I was too…I finally do see the truth and it is not coming from jw wt. it’s an 11 billion dollar United States of America business that is very well funded and backed by the government. It serves a democratic purpose and will be almost impossible to abolish. They’re quickly adapting as you can see from this past year’s historical changes bc their members numbers are in decline and the internet is giving them a rude awakening exposing them as a cult a very rich cult at that. We can do our share by just sharing our own experiences. One not need to go far, just start with the origins of the book they use to base everything on…the Bible!
That’s one of the things that pisses me off most about JWs. They don’t just take you’re money, they take your time. You spend you’re life studying their “truth”, going to meetings, reading they’re magazines, being fed they’re lies, and so much more. All the while believing it will be worth it, but when you wake up from the lies, nonsense, and B.S, you realize how much time you wasted trying to be perfect. I spent 6 years of the most important and hard times of my childhood (ages 7-12) doing just that. I was majorly affected by it. I was socially awkard, had trouble trusting certain minorities of people, and so much more. It’s amazing to me how those small years have effected me now, when I know there’s people out there like you who have spent DECADES of your life doing that. I’m so glad you’re out of there now, and have a lovely day if you read this.
@@Stroodle_dus_Doodles honestly im happy i didn't take the full force of the downsides of being a jw and my mother took me out of the religion before it was too late so i hope you are doing well after leaving the cult
Yea sure jw is horrible. Where was your responsibility in all this? No body steals your time unless you agree to it.
This is not the most violent movie JWs produced, that award goes to "Walk by Faith, not Sight", which shows scenes of actual blodshed and dozens of corpses and blood
That was definitely not kid friendly.
Facts. Don't forget the starving woman eating a live rat fucking raw. That whole movie gives me PTSD.
And you forgot that the back of the DVD cover says that the movie "does not contain free violence"
I had the dvd for that and loved watching it as a kid lol
@@ren.8137 I still have the DVD,and alot of other JW movies in DVD too
I lost right after "first JW film made in Africa". I can definitely smell 'white-religious piety in a third world area that means so little to me that I list the continent and not the country' stank already.
you mean like the US of almost all north america does it to the entire world?
Considering Europe as a country too...
I was a Witness teenager when we started hearing about the persecution in Malawi beginning in the late 60s. I remember reading the articles about the rapes and beatings and killings, and one horrific detail I'll never forget about how bicycle spokes were driven through the legs of some Witnesses and afterward being forced to run. Scared the hell out of me, thinking "when's the persecution going to start happening here?" "Will I be able to stay faithful?" And here we are, over 50 years later, and the Witnesses are still waiting in vain for the end of the system. You can't fault someone for dying for a cause they think is just, but when you think about all those Witnesses who died believing in a false hope and who would have lived otherwise, it's really sad. I stayed in way too long, glad I'm out.
Religions are a business. They’re job is to exploit the poor the weak and feeble minded hence their against higher education. Educated, but not tend to analyze and think critically bc that’s what higher education is. All the red flags are there for us to see and listen to coming right from all the gb horses mouths and wt. It’s propaganda for its brainwashed followers unfortunately. To feel pity and give more money. It’s all about the dollar at the end of the day. Jw does nothing charitable not even for its own congregation buildings being paid by its members and that includes buying the preaching carts from them as well. Then it’s laughable that the carts are reserved and you have to be trained and certified in their use. I speak from the heart as a dooped follower for over 50 years. My sister and mother life long followers too. My sister has called me spiritually weak for questioning their ill faded doctrines. In the past year I have alerted her to lots of changes and why as word gets out of these peoples sick and dangerous games with people’s lives. They want to run the members lives and then walk away when there’s devastating consequences to their enforcement of what they call Bible doctrines on innocent people trying to just look for a better life but are only brainwashed into another form of enslavement.
Dying for false hope? You don't serve Governing body but God and Christ. Their false predictions just made people to be atheists. This is a proof they serve Satan not God. Why they did not invite some Malawian to be in Governing body? No, only Americans are blessed. Their idiotism will not kill my faith in God.
😮 eek spoopy, I forgot what a bicycle spoke was but it sounds freaking PAINFUL
@@otome.hobbit oh my god that's horrifying imagine the other things these people had to go through for believing in a superficial cause
idk for me the tragic part isnt them suffering for their beliefs (they are entitled to them even if its a cult) but that the Watch Tower Society specifically told Malawian witnesses not to join the Congress Party (which was required of everyone by the dictator Banda) or carry party ID cards despite the fact that they could have just bought fake party cards that were commonly available and afaik JWs are allowed to lie to worldly governments and engage in theocractic warfare against them. So their deaths were completely avoidable and tragically pointless even within the framework of JW. There was a guy whose name I forget who was a high ranking member of the governing body of JW who dissociated and wrote a book about the entire thing.
Has anyone else caught the fact that Amani's name means "peaceable" and Dunia's name means "world"?
Thanks for pointing that out. I did not know that.
Thanks for that observation man
Yes i know some Arabic . Jesus told not to judge based on the dressing or eating way and this fellas want to take their african identity away as if were incompatible with believing in God.

Where are the animals, birds, not even dogs are in the video. And when they are heading into the jungle not one animal. Then they claim that the camp was full, not even a bit, in regular camps they are packed.
That is because the movie was produced in Upstate New York
And they have an ample supply of clean water so they can baptize people on the spot...and pressed suits! Can I move in there?
Why do so many organized religions have it out for the people of Africa? For fucks sake! Leave them alone!
They have low education rates thus making indoctrination easier
I agree! Hasn't the west done enough to Africa?
I think a lot of the issue is the Poverty Porn the west is used to. Nobody in the US gets to actually see the best parts of Africa, like the rich culture, the incredible natural resources, or even just admire the beautiful clothing worn, because nobody actually shows that in media.
The other issue is that generosity is a core belief in a lot of organized religions, which isn’t always a bad thing, but they just don’t understand that not all African countries need help.
It’s just a huge lack of education. I grew up with people who thought not just that all of Africa was poor, but that it was a country. A lot of people grew up with those types of people or around them.
The "white saviour complex" at work (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_savior)
You do know that there are orthodox churches in Africa, right? Like the Ethiopian church, which was founded long before Europeans ever got to it. Christianity isn’t inherently white or spread by force though I would agree that it shouldn’t include colonialism or forced conversion.
The fact that they say you don't have to understand, you just need to believe/listen and obey is just disgusting and dangerous. The ironic thing is that I remember my Grandma warning me against that kind of thinking when I was watching one of the Tinker Bell movies as a child. I guess that warning doesn't apply when it comes to the sky dad.
The people of Jonestown were told the same thing and look what happened to them. I'm afraid that the same thing will happen to Jehovah's Witnesses if they're told to follow the elders into the wilderness.
I know, that message just tells us to take blind leaps of faith. That's not good message, that leads to so many bad things happening.

"Obedience to Jehovah" also means accepting whatever the society says ON BLIND FAITH and convincing yourself that jehovah will never fail you, when, in reality, he CONSISTENTLY fails those precious victims who fall prey to sexual abuse WITHIN HIS ORGANIZATION. 1:42 Not only as a person just looking at this objectively, as a black person, this is IMMEDIATELY offensive. Once again portraying an entire continent as though everyone in Africa lives like this. These people couldn’t even afford pictures for the walls? Plus, the clothes. Why is the “brother” in plain looking western clothing and his brother is not? They had a cart with an old ass radio. It felt like this came from the viewpoint of a bunch of white men and how they see THE ENTIRE continent of Africa and how black people live. The entire continent. And the man’s wife with that raggedy ass bun in the back of her braids? They didn’t even have real lights shining bright in the house. All of it, all of it is cringey. 🤢🤮 And did he have a cell phone but an archaic radio? I can’t. I just can’t.
The brother has on Western clothing because in their white Eurocentric opinion, those are proper clothes for a JW. Always trying to strip black people of their culture.
Shame on the Africans in the film that agreed to letting themselves be portrayed this way. Do better.
Even little kids now has phones in Africa. From Ghana and this is the worse representation of Africa ever. Every part is just a no no. How blind the brog made us all to even clap at the end of this ... don't know what to call it.
Lol 😂😂😂 have you been to a local village in Nigeria
Im no jw
But let's not kid ourselves
Africa is still backwards
Ya the have phones but so what
No job no steady light
Corruption
Police brutality
Stop blaming the white and start fixing your continent
As a Congolese, please don't be offended on that part. Not having pictures on the wall, I don't see the problem with it, first. I mean they are selling stuff, its not their house, and if you ever went in the congolese market where they sell handcraft stuff... well this is a realistic depiction. And in Congo, for exemple, some people dress with western clothes, some don't. It truly be like that. You being offended is more offensive, actually 😅 (I use Congo as an exemple, because the music is in Lingala. A congolese language.) Also, the story is after what happens in Malawi, what did you expect, a full on villa and people in their private swimming poll ? 😅 Are even JW allowed to live like that ?
Second, they are in a village in Africa, it doesn't mean, nor is implied that the whole Africa is like that. But it could easily be happening in Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya etc... and I mean, there's nothing to be ashamed of... Beside the JW part. But I see houses with normal kitchen, clean environment. And to even be more realistic, you won't really find JW Africans in rich places lemme tell you that 😂😂
I mean, even in the western world, there's a difference between city people and village people like...
3. Picture on the wall ? Not only not everybody puts picture on the wall, and also they are JW. Your expectations are too high from them. (and really, pictures on the wall is not systemic everywhere, I never had that in my house)
4. The radio is not that weird, again it doesn't mean they don't have phone, there's a literal QR code on the card given by the rich dude in red. And I've seen kid, in Congo for example, if not creating radio from scratch (yup, from scratch), have an old radio. It's not that far off current reality.
5. I'd even say the scene is too clean. War refugee and no sight of dust on your clothes ? Perfectly clean ? All the clothes are cleaned and ironed ? In what world ? I think your offense is in the wrong place. And they all speak with an American accent as well. These are the weird things, not the things you were offended by. Taking people lifestyle as an offense just because you happen to be black, is wild.

I don’t think this was even shot in Africa for a few reasons
1.the children have American accents like they weren’t able to make a remotely convincing accent
2. They call football soccer which is only called that in South Africa in the African continent
3. The vehicle number plates are from Botswana where they call soccer football and they aren’t even fitted correctly (the back number plates should be yellow) and they don’t seem to have the spaces between numbers and letters like they have in the film
4.it doesn’t even look like Africa which although Africa is a big continent I think if they sent a film crew to Africa they would want to capture more stereotypical settings. it looks more like rural Georgia
5. The sets are small and look fairly low budget
Disgusted that this is shown with impressionable children present. And emotional blackmail towards adults 😡😡😡
Wow... This is like a movie of what my entire childhood was supposed to be like... Except somewhere in all of this I was supposed to be murdered (I think my dad hoped that would happen)... I am so glad to be out
They would most certaitly drink the koolaid, I know many of them. How can someone watch this and don't think it's effed up, they put to sleep the critical thinking. I didn't even found it cringe, I found it tragic 😢
This is SO SICK! Sadly, the level of cognitive dissonance among Jehovah's Witnesses is tragic. They cannot see that the constant level of voolence is to keep them in a state of fear; a "fight or flight" mode. And all of that is to bind them inseparably to the organization, believing it is the only way to stay under Jehovah's protection. Sadly, they are awaiting an absolution that is never going to come. Cognitive Dissonance will not let them see that if their god Jehovah don't come through for the abundance of CSA cases where these little ones are being molested, why would he come through for them?
What the hell is that crap, re-traumatizing an entire population ( Malawi)😮 not at all a " christian" movie, and especially not for children 😡

Lived in Africa for a while. Apart from the woman at the beginning, these Africans all speak with American accents and do a lot of running and hugging like Americans do. Their clothing looks like it just came out of a clothing store 😳 At the scene in the field when the clean clothed bad guys showed up. There are trees and undergrowth on the one side and an open field on the other. They chose the open field (maybe a movie decision 🤔) and exposed themselves. there is SUCH a good movie in here. Religious people fighting for their right to stay neutral in times where national and regional belonging is what keeps you alive or threatens to kill you. You can´t trust in anyone but the church, everyone else is out to get ya"
Just foolish garbage to control minds
I love how it would have been perfectly reasonable to assume the kids would head for the refugee camp since that was where they had all agreed to go but the movie makes a point to not have anyone say that. The solution can't be about knowing what the kids would logically do, that's the reasoning their uncle uses and he's wrong about everything because he doesn't believe the right religion. No, they have to say that the kids went to the camp because jehovah brought them there. No matter how much it just makes perfect sense without invoking jehovah, they have to say it was always all jehovah.
So why did all the "worldly people" make it to the camp Did Jehovah save them as well
Exactly they heed to Jehovah advice and they were saved

2:05 Was my exact moment of cringe, only slight but it was there when they awkwardly/stiffly hugged eachother
Still stereotyping Africans. Africa is beautiful like the US and just as Advanced. WT needs to portray Africa in the proper light..
It’s a continent, NOT a country!
I lost the cringe challenge at 38:03 I also saw this at the convention. The convention was Hella boring.
0:52 ok. I lost
I don’t see how some of these scriptures are supposed to encourage anyone in this situation especially for those who are going through this right now
I lost the cringe challenge when you shared that the most violent film ever produced by Jehovah's Witnesses took place in a nation of black people.
Not playing on the "black brute" /"savage" archetype at all, are they smh
It is quite literally the most violent place in the world currently wtf are you even upset about LMAO
@@bonzai9802 uh-oh, looks like someone doesn't read very much
@@autumnasters so what part am I wrong about ?
@@bonzai9802 you would know the answer to that if you actually read...
Now go sober up. Maybe one day someone will like you enough to continue an interaction because this one is over
Sons of Ham … few will understand.
The dude prays " father jeboba" when the gb says we can only hope to be jeboba's friend at best 😂😅
This is what happens when your white Dp meters for the highlights only and figures the color corrector is going to lave it in post. At least they found the gold bounce for some of the indoor shots.
9:35 they just stole the entire BBC news theme tune for this one
I think it mightve been the Deutsche Welle intro. They're pretty similar if I'm wrong.
I'm Kenyan. I find their names kinda funny, they're in swahili
Amani means peace
Dunia means world
Also I'm sure this film is supposed to be set in my country coz there's a character called Mumbi, so I can comment on a bunch of things.
First off based on their accent there's no way in hell they live in that hut. Believe it or not, we do have cities here. Ppl who live in cities live in modern houses, not huts. There's absolutely no place in this country where you'll find someone with Amani's accent living in that kind of a hut. I find that hilarious.
Secondly, we don't all just randomly have Swahili names. We have english first names and ethnic second and last names most of the time. There's in no way in hell, even in the Swahili tribe, that a parent will call their kids Amani and Dunia. Amani makes sense but Dunia. It's like if Disney made a film based in England and the antagonist was called Mr.Evil. Like wtf.
Finally, that song they played at the start is either Zulu or Xhosa or some other Bantu language from South Africa. I'm getting sick of our entire continent being represented by only South African music. Panda pointed this out but I can only imagine if the film started with a Swahili taarab song. That'd have been pretty cool.
Also, I kinda found it funny that the person called Musa, Swahili for Moses, read the Pharaoh story. The cliche just hit hard.
Edit - I just realised the person i thought was called Mumbi is actually Maombi. Maombi!!!! WTF. The dude's parents sat down and were like, "You know, we're just gonna name our kid Prayers". Tf! They could have used anything. They could have said Baraka meaning Peace that's actually a rather common Swahili name. But nooooo. They just had to call him Prayers in Swahili. I quit
Edit: Just heard the last song and that's definitely Zulu. Guessing the first one was Zulu too. On second thought I don't think they should've used Swahili songs instead. Maybe they should've done Nigerian pidgin so atleast Westerners could grasp some of the words.
I think the movie is based in Malawi which would explain the rural setting
@@zakiykhan9718 are you from Malawi?
9:57 I love it! LMAO!
They'll need help from perverted hollywood
26:07 He could've easily mentioned the story of the Prophet Job and how he got back 10 times good than when he was suffering to solidify his point, yet apparently the Old Testament barely exists for these people.
Plot twist.uncle demeer is the baby's daddy😂
yea like, where is husband or boyfriend-------isnt she bad association. chloexjw
10:00 lol… I know it’s a play over but I appreciate you pointing out the hypocrisy there. No matter what “religion “ I’m in if there is a militia happening why wouldn’t I listen to it so I can prepare my family. Nope, but WAP keep our mind off conflict lmao!! Bravo!!
IM SORRY 9:59 KILLED MEE😭😭😭😭😭
I cringed when I saw JWs trying to make a movie about indoctrinating Africa 🤢
Super kicker what's happening 😂😂😂😂
11:14 his crazy 🤣 you're really not going to tell your fellows/members about the rebels attacking people & trying to overthrow the government... WTF. That man should have whatever rank he has in that church. This is madness at the highest level. And taking a job with the government doesn't mean you agree with them. It's just a job.. it's not like you're going to ask the owner of the company are you a right or left winger. Or what's your religious beliefs before you work there. The only way it would be a problem is 🤔 will if they was forcing their beliefs on you.
I guess we Christians are just better at the game than JW :] I mean they don't have 17+ million hours preaching about Christ ;)
I cringed the moment the guys changed the radio station to listen to rap music. I hate rap music! This and hip hop. But this scene makes it look like people who listen to rap music are so dumb that they don't care if WWIII has begun or not. I hate politics, by the way. I cannot be apolitical, however, because everything depends on politics, the way we live and die. As individuals, as nations, and as humanity by itself.
I'm a Christian with common sense. I respect people based on their beliefs, also I believe in evolution.
Finally someone who realizes Evolution and religion aren’t mutually exclusive lol
Based. Adapting religion to science is always cool. I have may more respec for ppl who say "well the Bible is written in metaphors, how else would a person at the time understand all this complex concepts" instead of "it has to be 100000% literal"
