I miss this kind of interview that no one does anymore, the guests today are just foils for the host, on Des’s show he played the straight guy to set them up or a generous host asking great but not intrusive questions.
Sadly it’s RUclips, TikTok, Instagram etc that have caused the death of the golden era of TV & entertainment. It appears that most people would rather watch a video of a nobody with millions of followers going to KFC than anyone with any real talent.
Barry Humphries, a born performer, out of dreary, tedious Melbourne, Shakespearean actor off Shaftesbury Ave., and subsequente automatic alcoholic, a consumate performer as I was saying...also somebody who is ad libbing most of the time and applying his masterful command of the english language...I wish ther was something negative to say about him n ow.
