I like the look of that truck! Make sure you show it to us when finished. When you get together and help the other guy the projects go quicker and the results are better, I believe. Always good to have friends.
Really nice of you to help George along with this sweet looking pick-up. It sure is awesome to have the tools to do this work, great job, I enjoyed this video a lot.
Always good to have a friend like Matt with a shop full of equipment ya need to get some assemblies you need built for your project hot rod truck. Definitely one of the things we subs like about Matt is his willingness to help others in the niche he works and lives in find or make parts for their projects.
Great video Matt!!!! I forgot how simple and basic Model A's are to work on!!!!! The farther we back in time, the simpler cars and trucks are to work on. Something to consider. Thanks for sharing and I learned so much.
It would be great if we could see this truck and your roadster pickup, (one day in the future) both finished and running. You could post a picture of them together at a local park or such-like. Or take them to a Ford dealer and get a shot of them at the end of a row of new F150s (so the newbies can meet their great-grandparents).
Matt that was a nice way to pay back for his help with your floor, it should kick start Georges project again, maybe could get it finished by the end of the year?!
Nice to be able to repay George in this way, your fab skills traded for the floor in your new addition and we get to join in. I like the simplicity of the flat floor, I did the same on my dads 35 Chevy sedan, it makes life much simpler to not have a bunch of complex bead rolling and an average guy can get it done!!
Yes, shops need a set of torches. Before a welder. Brazing comes in handy and is old school and preferred by many. Nice work on those floors. Man, having a press brake sure is handy.
George will have a nice rod when he gets it done. A slapper with a piece of thick leather may have helped form the sheetmetal around the pipe. You guys were putting enough "arm strength" on it, it just needed released as you "rolled"it to help shape it. AL B.
if I said it once , I said it a dozen times , ( your true calling is that sheet metal fabrication ) , it's not just the tools , brake / sheer ect. ect. / you got to have the " GIFT " that guides you thru those bends & cuts , so when you laid it all in there , it looks " professional " not like some " yahoo " cobbled it all in there !!! AND, I like that hat , and yes I am sure I have " pissed you off " in the past with some of my salty comments , " good " but I also give credit were credit is due !!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK & VIDEOS , YOUR REALLY KNOCKING OUT SOME WORK NOW !!!!! THE MACK GUY
Matt -- it's nice having friends around even if you don't get much done. When one is alone it's harder to see the reason why to keep going --- It's hard. So, keep the friendship! The truck is looking good. ------ Are there a lot of T-5 transmissions put behind the V8 Flatheads? What's the advantage --- overdrive? Liked the video ------- Rodney
I used a t5 from an s10 because it puts the shifter in correct spot and it's a synchronized trans meaning you won't have to double clutch and also it will have better gearing and overdrive..but you asked Matt not me..that was just why I chose a T5
You're right about having a torch set. Back in the day before the availability of cheap Chinese equipment a lot of rods and racecars were built with not much more than hand tools, an electric drill and a gas torch set.
Great Video Matt & George. I have a gear Knob from a '32 5 Window,............ I was wondering if you could help me build a car around it? Only joking, (I don't actually have the gear knob........... yet)..........Great video, love from Reading England
Great video....time lapse welding kinda gave me a epileptic seizure...lol...good music too, and not too loud..keep up the good work, where is Mike on his 33/34 roadster ?
Why do you use those electric shears. When they bend the metal all up while cutting your shape??? Why not use a plasma. That would leave the metal flat.
Dang guys would really like to see y’all using ear protection when grinding a zip cutting , would hate for you to be like me when your older (me 64) and can’t hear shit . Worked out when the Ol Lady is yelling at me , but bad the your in a crowd and your not part of the conversation !!

Me too. It is a pretty sweet I like the green flat head v8. LOL Green reminds of the villan on Batman the Riddler. Or was it the Joker.

Very nice work. Only simple if you know what you're doing. Adjusting the pedals and very clean floor pans. Great job.

Bitchin pickup George. I'm inspired to get some work done on my "32" Ford pickup.

A lot of work for a simple floor. The trans tunnel will be even more work to watch come together.
Nice Job on the floors so far...wondering how you will enclose around the pedals ....wm
Hey Matt I love that brake you aren't getting one like that from harbor freight.
Buying someone else's unfinished project is always a hard way to go

What is going on with the sweet 16 project
That project was parted out. Andrew lost interest and stopped coming around.
Did you get rid of the tall T
I really don’t know how I pissed you off. Sorry Matt.
8:35 Why isn't he seating on a seat ?
That to me gives a better geometry of how to work the pedals.
Why do you use those electric shears. When they bend the metal all up while cutting your shape??? Why not use a plasma. That would leave the metal flat.

Does George have a bed for his truck? Don't you have an extra one now, Matt?
I have one for it. Its the oversized late 31 bed. Just easier to travel to Matt's without it.
