    I used to work on and live near Dominion Road. I like this song for that reason, but it is not really about the road, it is about the struggler in the halfway house, trying to make sense of the world, as I am around fifty years later.

    I filmed a performance of this for a Scottish music tv show 'Chartbite', at STV in Glasgow, mid 90's. Might still have a VHS of it somewhere. Great tune, great bunch of guys. I hoped they'd become massive.

    umm - why did they bother making this video? Isn't the song about a road? nice to see Dominion Rd still looks a lot like in the original video - still, nothing a bit of road widening can't ruin.

    love the nz version much better, but when at 2:59 don mimics "he rests his head on the window sill", it's pure brilliancy.

    Went to his Westport jig specifically to hear this song and loved it (and all the rest) coz you just can't beat live music, notwithstanding I do think his vocal lyricism is better here, sorry Don.
