Because of all the requests and submissions I've decided to make episode 2 early. So let's take a look at some of your gaming PCs! Thanks for watching :)
@@guy5828 the picture he attached shows a board with two DIMM slots, so it's not the B360M-A (which has 4 slots). It could be a B360M-K (because of the M.2 slot and the SATA port placement)
It's not a B360M-K because of the VRM layout and his second ATX 12V connector not being plugged in. Most likely it's one of the many Prime H310M sku's that look like this.
yeah... I was hoping for the 2500X to get an actual release but here we go, AMD has killed the quad cores in "hedt" completely (r3 1200 ~ r5 1500X) and released 2200G and 2400G to the public which disappointed me a bit, also there's nothing on zen 2 quads which makes me kind of sad
@@raddysurrname7944 you can still use those apus with a gpu... So you've essentially got a quad core. For 3rd gen quad cores, they're just not out yet.
this wanted to say i'm really enjoying this bit you got going! a look at the fans and viewers builds makes your already down to earth everyday tech guy channel even more enjoyable.keep up the great vids mate!
Great video man! But if i may suggest something, add some background music to drown out the quiet fuzzy noise in the background. But other than that, the video was great. Keep up the good work! :D
Alright, at 5:20 i think you have a few options. Option A: upgrade the motherboard (probably to at least b450 or x470), ram (recommending dual channel 16gb ram @3000mhz) and upgrade the apu to the ryzen 5 3400g (does much better in games than 2400g, can be overclocked well with a b450/x470 and the stock cooler) Option B: upgrade the ram (16gb dual channel @3000mhz or more), switch to a cpu (probably to a ryzen 5 2600, 2600x, or even to a 3600 if you can afford it), and get a reasonably priced graphics card, like an rx 570/580 Option C: Upgrade the entire system (16gb ram @3000mhz, switch to cpu, graphics card, notherboard upgrade for overclocking). Note: when upgrading, make sure that your psu (power supply) has enough wattage to support your system well, because otherwise your system will likely not run after the upgrade. Good luck!
3:20 I use that exact same case _(rip, even with the window)_ and it houses my primary gaming system. The case has served my low standards pretty well _(can give 2 shits about cable management with a non-modular psu that I have)_ Works well enough for me
3:21 i have that same case and can confirm,i managed to get it looking pretty decent however i had to physically lie on the side panel to get it to close
2:55 He should probably put his fan on the other side of the radiator to make it a push instead a of pull config(And if it's already a push configuration he should still put it on the other side to allow a proper airflow at inside of the case)
I have an HP Elitebook 8540p with a Quadro 2000m. I looked at the XPS m1730 for a while trying to find one cheap. They're still cool machines. Hard to find in good shape and also with that gpu.
@@surrealmemes3518 at the start of this year there were 2 Dell XPS's for sale for about £150-200 but they had 2 or 4gb of ram and a 8700 or 8800gt (all I can remember is they had 1gb of Vram). But I think if you can find one for that price you can then upgrade it
@@hunterrrdrives my elitebook is upgraded a bit. I upgraded to the Quadro 2000m from the nvs 5100m and upgraded to 8gb DDR3 and an SSD and also upgraded the CPU to an i7-740qm. Also I added a HDD in the cdrom bay. It can play GTA at 30fps 1600x900 resolution on normal settings. So yes it can play Minecraft quite well.

I really should put mine and our lasses system up for you to take a look at. Especially our lasses system, it's a red and purple themed Ryzen 1500X based system with all custom sleeved power cables, and I'm super proud of how it looks. My main rig has the following specs: Ryzen 7 1700X @3.85GHz (It's a really shit overclocker, 3.9GHz is an instant BSOD no matter how much voltage I punt through it) X470 Gaming-F Strix 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200MHz (Running at 2933MHz cause anything higher won't work with my CPU) MSi RTX2070 Armor Corsair RM650x with custom sleeved white cables Corsair H105 CPU Cooler Fractal Design Define S 500GB Samsung 970 EVO with Manjaro Linux 500GB 850 EVO with Windows 10 Pro 2x2TB HDD's in RAID0 Our lasses rig has the following specs: Ryzen 5 1500X B450 Aorus Pro 16GB Corsair LPX 3000MHz MSi RX570 4GB EVGA SuperNova G3 650W with custom purple and red cables I can't remember the name of the case, it's a tempered glass case, but a cheap brand that I got for even less than retail 240GB Kingston A400 SSD with Windows 10 Pro 2TB HDD
07:45 The 2300X and 2500X do exist, although you rarely ever come by one of these outside of the OEM world. I've seen the 2500X on sale on ebay in batch once and also first thought that it was a scam, but they are legit.
I had a 1060 3gig that I got on sale during the mining boom, because the 6 gig version was nearly 100 bucks more and my existing card had blown. As in shot flames out the back and nearly set fire to the drywall. It wasn't that bad, it did great so long as you bumped things down to high or medium from ultra at 1080p, as it just didn't have the ram for all the textures on ultra I'm guessing. Now, would probably have to go to medium or low on most games, but it still should be going fine.
3:08 that overheating issue could be due to the thermal paste. I had the same issue with the Intel stock cooler on my i5 4670, I seem to have to replace the paste every 2 or so years.
The old XPS M1730 those are what real laptops used to be like and bought two of them myself including an engineering sample, the graphics card is upgrade able to a 9800m gtx sli and the cpu likewise to a core 2 x9000 which will overclock with ease on this machine as it has insanely good cpu cooling.
The second rig with the 7700k and the H55 cooler is what I have. My temps are fine.He needs better thermal paste or not seated right. The cooler sucks when mounting tho. Does not play nice with socket 1151.
@Timt.x (if you read this) your AiO might be a little weak for your 7700k, especially due to the 120mm radiator. But you should try to reseat this one somewhere else. If you use the fan on your radiator to pull through the radiator instead uf pushing air through it, this won't cool appropriately. and if this is set up to pull the air from the back of your case and push it through the radiator - the warm air ends up in the case. just try turning radiator and fan by 180° so the fan pulls the heat out of the case, through the radiator out of the case on the back. Should be the best way to go here, if you can't place it anywhere else.
Raddy P. aka Velo for the right price it’s a very capable cpu on a modern upgradable platform, but yeah, you better go with at least r5 1400 or something similar with 8 threads.
3:46 sigh of relief for adding that in. This is the problem, not some airflow/cabling issue. Wonder if the owner has tried this out and what the temps are now?
I hope you still do this in the future. I'm waiting until I get a phone upgrade in August because my current phone has a terrible camera. Although maybe I should clean up my cables beforehand.
