@@alberthakvoort8473 It is just a click on BIOS. Like most of the processor families AMD used just on type of chip for all Phenoms. They were all 4 core processors but for cheaper models some of the cores were disabled. First they used partly broken chips and those will not unlock but as manufacturing get better they did not have enough broken chips so they just used completely functional chips. Same thing happened on Sempron 100, Athlon II and Phenom II processor families also. You could open cores and/or L3 cache with some processors. Most usual thing was Phenom II 550be (2 core) open to 4 core and also every Sempron 165 (I think that was the name) always opened to 2 core but that was not a very powerful CPU even at the time (circa 2009-2010)

Welcome to the club. As I pwn noobs with ricer chairs daily... while sitting on IKEA $15 chairs (although those break within 6 months, so for the last 2 months I have a $99 actual leather IKEA chair!)... I really really loved your submission, I actually chuckled loudly :)
I'm umm... kind of... trained in ergonomics... and for mouse and keyboard operation... umm... yeah, no kind of "office chair" can be made actually safe. Meanwhile, a kitchen chair of appropriate height passes all requirements except arm wrests (which are NOT good for typing or gaming, but I understand how those can be a requirement for an actual executive's office... if they're a noob! aka has a secretary who uses a computer for them)

    • @fishytails6639
      @fishytails6639 5 лет назад +4

@@--Lam thanks for enjoying my little joke, this is actually an IKEA chair as well, was like 60€ but i have had it for 6 years now and it still works :)
as for ergonomics, im actually 6"2' and when i raise the chair (which i usually do) my arms sit flat on the table. well it means that im angeling my hands upwards for mouse and keyboard which is probably not ideal but it feels pretty comfortable most of of the time.

    • @--Lam
      @--Lam 5 лет назад +3

I don't know how tall that is (and it's strange that you buy things for euros and still measure distances in inches and umm... minutes? I don't think those go together?) but for the others let me say this: for actual mouse and keyboard operation the most important part is that your forearms rest on the desk and you don't have to lift them.
Then it's a matter of your position and distance from the desk. Back to you, you say you're "angeling" so I assume your forearms can rest but your shoulders have to work to raise your arms up? I assume I'm wrong, as that would make no sense if that's the position you actually prefer ;) Pretty sure I just didn't get what you meant. BUT if that's really the case (I don't think so, please don't be mad) and the chair is too low/desk too high, then you still can game fine, just spread the arms further out so you don't need to lift yourself. Typing, on the other hand, would be an issue on a normal keyboard. Again, I'm sure that's not what you meant, at least not to that degree :)
You can tell I don't think you need any advice, because you said you feel comfortable AND you have a proper chair that's not "GAMING". I just wanted to share the most basic basics to anyone who reads this and wonders how that is that some people can spend 12 hours in front of a computer and they get pain after 2.

    • @MaxDad7
      @MaxDad7 4 года назад +2

If you go by the number (9xxx series), it's the quad core model. The x3 were 8xxx. The CPUs came out to try and compete with the Core 2s and didn't do so well. The Phenom IIs that came afterwards were way better. Nonetheless, those Dell XPS's were great gaming PCs at the time and it was one I wanted but could never afford. lol

To the guy that has the A8 7600 and R7 360. I would spend the 5-600 pounds to upgrade your rig. I would keep your storage, PSU, and case if you are happy with them. I would suggest an AsRock B450m Pro4, Ryzen 2600, 2x8 GB of G.Skill TridentZ 3200 CL14, and a Sapphire Pulse RX 580. All good solid products, and your bang for the buck performance will be great. The is a hair over $500 USD so hopefully that fits your UK budget. The XFX and PowerColor RX 580 variants are cheaper and still adequate, and bumping your RAM to a 3200 CL16 kit will save you more money at the cost of some performance.

Consider 21:9 if you're thinking about multi-monitor. I upgraded to the Asus PG348Q over the summer, and seeing more of the timeline in Vegas Pro is nothing short of fantastic in terms of utility. Playing games in 21:9 is awesome as well, provided that the game supports it, though I'm not one to complain bout pillar boxing since sitting at arm's length away from a 34" screen kinda makes it a non-issue. Granted that I've also upgraded to a 9900K and a 2080 Ti so I can max out most games at 3440 x 1440 and be able to record them in 1080p without losing much video quality, and the boost in resolution also contributes to making editing significantly less cumbersome thanks to scaling. But 2560 x 1080 monitors should have similar quality of life improvements without having to buy a new GPU. And I got used to the curve radius within a week, provided that the Asus PG348Q 's curve is 3800R compared to a less subtle 1800R.

Not sure if you keep going these, but here are my previous gaming rigs:
    Pentium 1 166mhz
    32mb of ram
    1,5mb VRAM (Diamond Stealth).
Notes: Played some emulators of its time (KEGA, Visualboy Advance, ZSnes) but mostly Microsoft games, MAME (0.35) and NeoRageX.
    AMD + Nvidia rig:
AMD 64 3200+ (1.8ghz), ASUS "mustard"board (due to the color these boards used to be)
    1gb DDR1
PCI Envy24 Soundboard (integrated soundboard was DOA).
NVIDIA GT430 1gb VRAM (at first it was a ATi 9250)
Notes: Had to upgrade it because suspiciously hard drives would die out of the blue. And confirmed... indeed, it was the mustard motherboard chewing my hard drives out. Also probably my most memorable build since I played Tomb Raider 2013 from start to finish and something I REALLY regret since then I got a....
    Intel G2030 3.0 Ghz
    ASRock H61M VG3 "blue" motherboard
    4gb DDR3
    Nvidia GT640 1gb
Notes: Memorable since I was able to play most of GTA V, but forgettable because those ASSrack motherboards were as fragile as heating and cooling glass at the same time so they were a time bomb. Up to this point was using generic PSUs, since nothing required extra connections. A memory channel did die without even using it, so go figure the quality of this board, untill I got my ideal rig...
    Intel i5 3330 3.0ghz
Asus H61M-F (smol but powerful board!)
    8gb DDR3
Nvidia GTX 760 2gb VRAM (my very first mid-high end graphics card!).
Notes: My idea gaming rig, which I regretted playing Tomb Raider 2013 on my first gaming rig and not in this D:
    Currently:
    Intel i5 3330
    8Gb DDR3
Same board (I do have a thing for small motherboards ok? They need love too! D:).
    Nvidia GTX 1660 6gb VRAM
Notes: I think Metro was the most unoptimized game I did try on this rig and... didn't had a pleasant experience.

Guy with the 3-way SLI at 4:30 is okay with the PSU, the load wattage would be around 700W, and as long as the PSU can provide at least 53A on the 12V line, the SLI should be okay. Both these specs are met by the CM GX 750, which provide a 60A on a single 12V line (as far as I could research).
That is, of course, taking the specs from when the PSU was new. We all know that components degrade over time and with heat, specially capacitors in PSUs, and this could directly affect his system stability... I've been victim of an PSU that went bad after a few years, even being overpowered for that specific system....

My gaming rig is a HP z620 i found in a closed down business. I brought a pair of xeon e5-2690's and an rx590. Scores 2160 in Cinebench r15 and im getting 60 fps in everything i play... Vulcan games and some dx12 games are using both processors and games that don't i still have 8c/16t @3.8ghz boost. I'd describe it as reasonable...

i just ordered a new cooler master q300l case because i had the acrylic side panel off my old one to do some maintenance and had the panel sitting on my chair and sat on it snapping the panel into 2 pieces..........so after about 3 months of thinking about it i purchased an entire new one lol sucks but i hate the visible crack down the middle even tho 2 screws hold each side fairly well. anyway maybe once it arrives i will send u full details and pics of my machine now with a brand spanken new case

I would like to see how the triple 8800 fairs in semi-modern titles.

for me SSD has become a thing just recently :D on my previous computer 2 years ago i still had a Seagate SSHD it was 5 times faster than a HDD (150mb/s) and would load anything fast enough. But when i finally graduated from GTX 1060Ti to RTX 2070 i felt ready for a SSD migration :3
