Im still asking myself how people can enjoy cherry mx keyboards like the one on the table. I got the same, and even if it feeled pretty nice to use it, gaming or writing, everything awesome on the mech kb, I had already the second one, both had after months already failures at detecting the keys or made 2 strokes. This Corsair Strafe RGB was my first and last "gaming" mech keyboard. Never paid that much for a keyboard before and never was so dissapointed. All other KBs i ever had lasted for at least 3 years (all rubberdome or similar), most of them are still anywhere around in any corner, working 100%. Probably this problem is only for me since im often smoking and playing the same time, but still, as much i like the mech feeling, this keyboards dont fit my usage, obviously.

The one with the SFF Optiplex, I had a similar situation. I have a Optiplex 790. The GPU didn’t fit, I got it from some guy on Facebook and it had a GTX 750 Ti. I ended up finding an old gaming case from like the early 2000s and put everything in there and upgraded to a 1060
Happy new year dude! Appreciate you keeping the channel going. You've got a good thing going and it's crazy to see how far you've come. A good idea + enthusiastic work... works apparently!
Also a member of the i7-3770 club, paired with a GTX 1060 6GB, Monitor is a 1080p 60Hz - might be upgrading to a 4790 - it was going to be a sale build, and maybe not such a high Haswell, but the way the parts finding fell into place.... Trouble is, I have a triple build on the go.... My existing 3770 on a H61 - which was going to be switched to a Z68 board to get native SATA 3 (I used a SATA 3 card, but it wasn't getting as much out of the SSD as the native SATA 3 on my old Phenom 2 build) - also gets full rear audio for 5.1 & line in. The H61 board gets an i5 and some other bits to make a "Fortnite gaming" build, case with some bling. The board for the 4790 is nowhere near as nice, I'm half tempted to pick up a better board than the H81 I got - surprisingly, while the H61 allows Ivybridge to run the CPU driven PCI-E at 3.0, the H81 limits the Haswell to PCI-E 2.0 - not that it's likely to hamper a 1060 much
I like to see how the stickers adding power joke travels from hobby to hobby. On race cars I hear that, on the paintball field, on several things, and now on pc as well haha.
hey RGIHD I love your videos, you inspired me to build my own pc with the guidence of you, im only a 16 year old college student earning about £15 going to class to save up for a £980 pc when my old computer was a laptop a8 processor with 8gbs of ram, Now i have a ryzen 5 2600x, a gtx 1070ti and 32gbs of 3000mhz ram with two moniters so i can do game development and gaming on since i am working with game development in college all i say is have a happy new year
Sometimes I miss the time when I was (young/poor) and always had a shitty computer built with used parts. It felt so good when you finally got to upgrade a component and get a massive performance boost in games. I remember the first graphics card I bought new, a Geforce 7600 GT from Gainward, upgraded from a Geforce4 Ti4200. The performance increase in World of Warcraft was amazing. Best feeling ever.
Early last year I set out to build the best bang for buck system I could at the time for the smallest cost, I managed to build a system with a i5-4690k, gtx 970,500gb hdd, 240gb ssd and 128gb ssd, 16gb ram and a 700w psu all for 280 rather impressed and I still use this exact system today and runs modern titles with ease

To the guy with the Optiplex, you can fit your 1050 into the smaller of the two PCI-E slots, it is a 4x slot, not 1x like most believe it to be, it also has the end sliced so a large socket card can fit into in, it may feel unnatural but trust me, it works, I've done it myself... 😏

the Corsair VS power supplies with the grey branding are based on a newer platform and are actually fine, still not very good PSUs, but these ones shouldn't break as much as the older ones
I'm amazed that people are actually using stock coolers on gaming rigs? :O But I guess if it works, then what the heck. Also, gotta love those old skool ketchup and mustard psu's haha
lmao all these people saying "FiRsT" never fails to make me genuinely laugh at some people (I'm sure you're good people, not trying to insult you. Btw good video! Keep it up RGIHD!!)
I wanted to add a GPU to my optiplex and even though one would fit, it would get too hot because of a lack of airflow. My solution was just to stick with the integrated graphics on the i3. I mostly use it when I need to print something, but the kids still use it to play Roblox.
For the first build i would put the pc where the second konitor is and add some RGB lights in there to show it off, get rid of the second monitor and sell the first one and get a really nice on
To the guy with the pre-built Lenovo: Make sure you get a GTX 1050 Ti without a 6-pin connector. Those Lenovo PC's have custom power supplies and usually come without a 6-pin power cable for stronger graphics cards.
I wish i knew you were doing these videos, would've sent in mine for you to review. Haven't heard many reviews on mine other than the cpu like to thermal throttle a lot hahah. Happy new year bro.
yeah the old i7s, a overclocked 2600 was already nice. I got a used i7 4790k and mainboard, running up to 4,8 GHz, and a new GTX 1070, still my gaming rig in 2020, its enough for 1440p 165Hz gameplay :)
Im also wondering how there are so much big cases... i have also only medium/big towers, but im sure, my new gaming rig, probably in 2021 or so will be the best you can get into a small mini ITX case to carry around. Im used to Computers, heavy and big, my "main" PC is actually even only a RTX 2080 notebook on TV.
I feel the same way about cable management.I wanted to redo mine but had to order a new psu after i got my 1070 ti.The one i currently have are to weak for my 1070 ti and the new model is a Corsair TX 650M 80+ gold which should last me a couple a years. At least it doesn't have ketchup and mustard cables like this antec 600w.
the last build is nice, i loved my Phenom II X6 1090T, running nearly at 4 GHz it was also capable of gaming 7 years after release. The 1060 also seems like a nice choice for it, but it will be CPU bottlenecked for sure. I was using a 1060 for one day in a i5 4430 system, and i was running easily in GPU bottlenecks so i sent it back and got the 1070. In my opinion a better value, more futureproof. I still use my 1070 and the performance is still enough for me. The only sad thing is, my notebook GPU, a RTX 2080 Max-P is much faster already, whatever 1070 still awesome for my 1440p 165Hz screen in competetive games, the 2080 mobile for 1440p120hz or 4k 60hz on Gsync TV :)
I'm running a gtx 550ti, honestly a solid card for the time and perfect for some grand strategy games like stellaris, it's paired with a core i7 2600 which still holds up well.
Alexandre Ermenault my mobo and my ram is coming all I need now is a new cpu gpu psu hdd and ssd I have all of these but their 6 years old so yeah have fun with ur new rig
@@GoblinZen I already changed psu and gpu. I received new case, new mobo, but I'm still waiting for new CPU, new watercooling and new ram. Hope you will have fun with your rig too.
i finally have a proper desk and a secondary monitor after a few years of gaming on a drawer and using a matress as a mouspad. should i send my setup here?
Love the videos man you remind me of myself in my 20s when I loved all PC hardware. I shouldn't say that though I still use proper hardware to run any game at 1440p near 90fps depending on the game and settings.
This is random, but what recording gear do you use for benchmark videos. I'd love to benchmark some of my hardware but screen recording with obs will affect fps so should I get a pcie elgato or? (And yes ik about afterburner)
Still running an i5-6600k and a gtx 1080 that I got for a good deal. It's kinda annoying because the i5-6600k is still pretty fast, but more and more games expect more cores (as they should) so there's some frame drops and stutters on an otherwise smooth experience that I can't safely overcome by overclocking on my hot little itx rig. It's funny because the 6600k can be had for about $100, but the i7-6700k still sells for like $250.. I'd hoped by now that would be my "cheap" upgrade path to keep it going strong for another 2 years or so, but I'm better off just waiting for new Ryzen at this point, or maybe upgrading to the 6700k in this later as a hand me down and just building an entirely new system when the time comes.
LOL, I actually still have I7 3770k and I can attest it is still relevant today. I even run it with GTX 1070 and VR, no problem :D Maybe I'll do my setup some time.
hey quick question. you know that red fan you where talking about is it possible that you have a UK amazon link for it. also love the videos you are making!!
I was expecting to be embarrassed, but I'm quite surprised that my PC would outperform all the ones in the video and I'm even thinking about buying a second GPU. If I do, I'm definitely sending pictures.
First of all, happy new year. Hope you all have a good one. And yeah, socket 1155 still holds up pretty good. I will send in my system next time. I have i5 3570, RX 570 and 12GB of RAM in my system, and it still runs whatever I want.
Oof, I have a VS650 paired with an I7-9700K, Trident Z CL14 8x2 3200Mhz, MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB and a MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Carbon Pro... It's worked for a while, probably gonna upgrade PSU before getting a new GPU (Probs gonna go for an RTX 2080 Super)
I love your content but was wondering if youtube is your full-time job? I've been subscribed for the past 3 years since you had 30k subs and recently you've just passed 300k :D. I love PC components especially what cheap bargains you can find online and I love the passion you have for this channel.
also those lenovo PSUs dont typically have the same pin layout as a normal psu which you would need if you plan on running any GPU in there as most OEM power supplies are forr the bare minimum of what the stock hardware requires(usually 200w or less). id sell it, build a cheap one out maybe an optiplex with an rx 570 4gb. it will work out better.
Im using 40" 4KTV as monitor, i just dont full screen apps when im sitting in front of it. Cannot do it with 42" 1080p TV nor with 50" 4KTV as they made me dizzy in few minutes. 40" 4K i can use all day and night. Only problem is no budget or reasonably priced videocard can run 4k/60fps so i play games windowed on lower resolution. i only have 1060 and cannot afford anything pricier...
I’ve got a 3770 clocked at 4.3 ghz thanks to a p67 pro fatal1ty motherboard with a 1070 zotac amp extreme clocked to 2.1ghz and 16 ddr3 2100 MHz ram. Also a 650w seasonic gold.
My beast of a rig: ATI Radeon X300, 256mb of ram, intel core Pentium at 2 ghz. This is a windows Xp pc, because I want to be able to play Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Donald Duck Quack Attack, and Midtown Madness all day. Windows 10 doesn't allow that. All run in glorious 480p at 60 fps.
Ah my thin client finally made it in. Its a t620 plus and that 430 that's currently in it is essentially a rebadged 240 with gddr5 VRAM. I tested apex and doom on it and they run at 30~40fps the CPU tends to be the bottleneck in most games

Brilliant video man, love your content, till the next one, Happy New Year!
Rosewill used to sell that exact alien themed case, I almost bought one when I built my phenom II rig years ago
Got a Rick and Morty setup going on, just need some funko pops in the case and I may just submit the setup.
i finally have a proper desk and a secondary monitor after a few years of gaming on a drawer and using a matress as a mouspad. should i send my setup here?
Love the videos man you remind me of myself in my 20s when I loved all PC hardware. I shouldn't say that though I still use proper hardware to run any game at 1440p near 90fps depending on the game and settings.
Great content, I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming. Happy new year btw. 💥💥🙂
This is random, but what recording gear do you use for benchmark videos. I'd love to benchmark some of my hardware but screen recording with obs will affect fps so should I get a pcie elgato or? (And yes ik about afterburner)
just sent in my rig for the next rygr video !
13:10 legit had me dying I fucking love this channel
Alienware represented a premium build which lasted me 10 years. It's equivalent today is Origin, Maingear or Digital Storm.
I've just realised the picture on the wall is still there from one of your first videos from like 7 years ago
Putting together a new PC this weekend. Will send it in for next time!
I am curious if you also review more powerful builds. 🙈
LOL, I actually still have I7 3770k and I can attest it is still relevant today.
I even run it with GTX 1070 and VR, no problem :D
Maybe I'll do my setup some time.
hey quick question. you know that red fan you where talking about is it possible that you have a UK amazon link for it.
also love the videos you are making!!
I was expecting to be embarrassed, but I'm quite surprised that my PC would outperform all the ones in the video and I'm even thinking about buying a second GPU. If I do, I'm definitely sending pictures.
I'll be waiting for mine.
That Blue outside and red outside case is so cursed
Thanks for the laughs! Another entertaining video.
Abdul Rashid ... Indian budget gamer.....
Happy new year guys and I hope your submissions get featured in the next episode!
I sneezed twice while watching this and you paused both times as if waiting for me to finish.
For a second I thought he wasn’t going to roast his monitor
“Give it a good kick”
I died at that 😂
also those lenovo PSUs dont typically have the same pin layout as a normal psu which you would need if you plan on running any GPU in there as most OEM power supplies are forr the bare minimum of what the stock hardware requires(usually 200w or less). id sell it, build a cheap one out maybe an optiplex with an rx 570 4gb. it will work out better.
I was wondering if my old build made it in but I sent that in in like October. Upgraded to the R9 3950x since then so maybe will resubmit.
I respek Gabe's monitor stand. Great repurposing of this redundant paperweight.
i love how ironic your username has become over the years
I an stoopid. How is ironic?
@@virtualtools_3021 he doesnt play games in high definition anymore cause hes testing out weak graphics cards and such
Well, his videos are random... they are about gaming... and they are uploaded in (full) HD
I’ve got a 3770 clocked at 4.3 ghz thanks to a p67 pro fatal1ty motherboard with a 1070 zotac amp extreme clocked to 2.1ghz and 16 ddr3 2100 MHz ram. Also a 650w seasonic gold.
Great video. Getting tired of channels with all the latest tech. Nice to see what the average person has at home.
All run in glorious 480p at 60 fps.
i loved this video. cant wait to see more
Ah my thin client finally made it in. Its a t620 plus and that 430 that's currently in it is essentially a rebadged 240 with gddr5 VRAM. I tested apex and doom on it and they run at 30~40fps the CPU tends to be the bottleneck in most games
