I was coming from the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G and I so agree with you with what you said. I had a phone that worked flawlessly and I was very happy with (Samsung S21 FE), but I couldn't wait and two weeks ago I bought a Pixel 8, thinking the Pixel 9 wouldn't come out until October. To be honest, I'm very happy with the Pixel 8 and I don't regret the decision. I'll probably regret it once the Pixel 9 comes out, but I'm certainly not going to sell the P8, and since it's been announced that the Pixel 10 chipset will be built at TSMC, I might have made a good choice.

The 9 Pro (non XL) is looking mighty tempting, as i like small phones with all the bells and whistles, so i might pull the trigger when it goes on sale. I miss the only 6 Pro because of the quick updates and compatibility with everything (Google Ecosystem), but the overheating and real world cellular connection issues made me ditch it.
Dont really care who makes the chips, TSMC or otherwise, so im not too bothered by that. Im a dad that wants to take photos of me and daughter eating an ice-cream, and not have it look like a blurry mess, like with my ZenFone 10. Definitely watching this space like a hawk.

I switched from a Pixel 4 XL to a iPhone 14 Pro Max. If I’m gonna be switching back to Android (specifically Pixel because I don’t need a massive phone with bloatware), that SOC is gonna have to improve significantly. It doesn’t necessarily have to match the A17 or whatever iPhones are shipping with now, but at least provide a smooth and snappy experience WITH (and this is very important) excellent battery life. TSMCs chips, especially their latest models, are pretty good at getting high performance with a low power draw. Pixel 10 might be the move back to Android.

The only thing I care about is the upgrade to ultrasonic FP scanner. If you have used any of the samsung flagship devices over the last 5 years then you know just how vastly superior this tech is when compared to the, em... flakey, optical scanner that has been used in the pixels for the since the P6.

I'm just not keen on the new design. It looks like 'if Google made iPhones'. Besides, if you live outside of America, you might be better off getting a discounted 8 Pro as we have no idea how many of the 9 features will be available outside of the US (probably very few looking at Google's history).

I feel like this design is way too much Apple. I personally prefer the one with the full width camera bar, which is pretty iconic to be honest. Also the form of the device reminds me of Apple way too much, especially the side rails and curves. And also the price...

I would wait for the Pixel 10 but I'm sick on samsung have been using samsung since galaxy s5 and their software will always be garbage. Always had issues with every phone which never got fixed even with the newest updates. Done with the lag random restarts and freezing up. Only had 1 samsung that didn't have issues with software. I'm done with samsung ui software. Stock android is miles better. Plus the pixel 8 pro camera is better than the s24 ultra and its older of a phone and it feels smoother than my s23+ 😅

I like the new design more. It reminds me of Robocop’s helmet glasses slot so it makes me feel that the phone is more futuristic. I didn’t like the 6th to 8th version designs at all.

The Pixel 6 Pro was google innovating... everything since is just bland to me. there's no excitement in the phone design, and I miss curved displays! our hands have curves, I do not want flat rails, and sharp edges. I don't want my phone to cut me like a knife lol
that being said I wish they would have just called in the pixel fold 2, and I wish they would have kept the tron like camera bar... it set google apart! great vid as always!

Just bought the z Fold 6. It's a good thing i have 30 days to return it. I should have waited until the pixel fold comes out in case I like it. The folds are getting old. I've had the last 6 of them, and there all the same. It
Gets annoying after a while. Something new would be nice... like the new Google fold.

I thought about Upgrading from my Google Pixel 8 Pro to the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL but I've decided not to because there's just not enough there to make it worth the Upgrade in my opinion. 256 GB's of Storage and 12 GB's of RAM is more than enough for a Smartphone for the next couple of Years. Also if you Root your Phone there's Root Modules and Root Apps or APK's that you can use to make it better such as Performance and Battery Saving.

I got Pixel 8 pro at half the original price. What u should do is wait, what? 9 month? And u got a much better deal. Note that pixel 10 will have a much better processor than the 9 due to a better 3 nm process node technology.
And if u have to wait 9 month to get a good deal, u ll buy u pixrl10 in 2 years.

Another thing that was stopping me was the size of pixel pro and less feature in pixel,128 gb rom and soc. If g5 would have come this year i would have definitely bought this phone.

The pixel 8a's only purpose was to be the grave stone of the formerly glorious Pixel A Series. There will never be a Pixel 9a. And the Pixel 8a was made to justify that decision by google, since it does not sell well - not to anybodys surprise, given the crappy hardware.

I have been using p8p but I got a custom kernel (sultan on XDA) it trippled performance quadrupled battery life and connection wad faster but it never dropped before anyways
Anyway if you haven't rooted and installed custom kernel I would recommend because it felt like skipping to the pixel 11 or something.
I now can stretch my battery the entire week with 3h SOT or 2 days with my average 10h SOT
It also its pretty damn close to the sd888gen3 with a Overclock
