being kind nowadays is often mistaken for flirtation or considered weird

    • @TheGonzaloMagic
      @TheGonzaloMagic 10 лет назад +21

It may be considered flirting, but will never be considered weird. People like kindness directed towards them. for example, who doesnt like a shop assistant who is super friendly? it makes you smile, it betters your mood when you pass through people like that. And you can do it to. its simple, and it will make you feel good. In the flirting part, girls can tell after a few talks with you what are your real intentions, or even in first contact. A honest smile and positive atittude is very different from a flirty one.

A decade ago after just getting my income tax, I had over a grand in cash in my wallet. I left it like a dummy in a mall bathroom stall. An elderly couple had found it and left their # w/ mall security (they were uncomfortable leaving it with a stranger). I called them and they drove 20+ mins in a snow storm to meet me halfway. Every penny was accounted for& they refused my reward money. They’d even found a phone list in my wallet and called a few of my contacts to tell them they had my wallet.
Over ten years later and I’ve never forgotten that. Kindness truly goes a long way. This couple restored my faith in humanity ❤️

This is a really good video about just being kind. One thing people forget is that they can be nice without needing to get something in return. Or that it doesn't have to be something big like helping out at a soup kitchen (though you should still do that if you can). Being kind can simply be helping an old person at the store lift their heavier items onto the register or telling someone they look nice. That's all it takes and if everyone did a few kinds acts a day then the world would be a lot less jaded.

Once I worked as a cashier in a gift store, a man comes to pay for 3 Easter baskets, he started telling me, he had been in jail for 20years, and he was super excited to be FREE! And wanted to show the world, Kindness!! he was so happy, I watched carefully, hoping wth all my heart that ppl wuld NOT Abe mean to him. Each one of the persons he tried to give the basket to, they completely rejected him and got so mad, they thought he was crazy, and all he said was... Hello good person, I am so happy to be alive and I just want to give you this Easter basket so you can have a great day... they cursed and were very mean to him. I had to step out and tell those ppl off!!! But sadly, when a random stranger wants to do something great, ppl get so scared, ppl are so not used to kindness.. But I Hope Gratitude WINS!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

And it makes me think about going out of my own shell, because i feel there's a veil on my heart that prevents me from expressing love and kindness properly. And all I wanna do is to feel connected to people again. Thank you, SoulPancake, for showing me that it's posssible. =)

This woman had her child in her arms and the little girl dropped her pink little unicorn that was one of those eyeball pop things where u squeeze it and the eyeballs pop out of the character . anyways they were leaving papa J's (pizza place) and the little girl dropped her doll as they were herding to their truck. Then the women opened the door to the vehicle and put the little girl inside. (The girl was about 2 and didn't know how to speak just quite yet) So I walk to the toy pick it up and say "ma'am, is this your children's toy?" I said to her and she said back in a nice voice"Yes, Thank you". The whole time my family didn't know what I was doing when I stopped and turned around. Basically, do a nice jester when possible.

Good info here on being a happier person.Although I disagree when Julian stated that the kindness has to be more than small kindness acts.I've found that when I'm giving a good tip for average service or really listening and sympathizing to an associate who is griping about his current life. That helps me be a happier person.I must admit i don't like to listen to people who whine about their life. To be good at doing acts of kindness on a fairly regular basis one must be a very good and giving person. There just aren't that many people like that. Our egos say well why she I be so kind when alot of people aren't kind and giving to me.

Last year, I did constant things like always holding the door for a good 5 minutes for the influx of people on my way from the bus and also for those getting out of gym, but I wasn't really happy. To me, it became kind of like a science experiment. I'd try to judge the character of people based on their reactions to me holding the door. I reasoned that since I was doing this every day, it would mean that I would learn more about their personality- did they not say anything the first day because of shyness and work their way up to saying thank you? Did the say thank you out of politeness the first time then stop showing gratitude as time went on? I don't know if it actually worked or had any scientific benefit, but it was interesting and a kind of ritual. Back then I was very obsessed with high moral standards and a big sense of self. I was also craving validation because I was lonely. But this didn't cure my loneliness, or draw more people towards me. I don't know where I'm going with this. I guess I'll close by saying that I don't regret holding the door or always picking up trash, but doing them daily didn't necessarily make me happy.

You know in this world and in today's society...its almost laughable to alot of people or suspicious if you are kind...its so F'd up honestly. I think the notion that kindness is important and that it comes back to you is only something understood by the wise. Its wisdom. It's to where you realize you are capable of:
1)- Making yourself feel better by making someone else feel better or helping another soul.
2)- Making your life and time spent more purposeful and rewarding.
3)- Changing your own universal karma...and karma most definitely exists even though both karma and oxygen are invisible it's always around you.
I also find that kindness is not an act or a moment or a gesture but rather it's at it's best when it's a life practice. I am not saying you should be a sucker and take abuse from anyone......no way. But if you practice kindness it will come back to you in another form. You may buy the homeless lady a meal one day or give a care bag to a homeless guy or go out of your way to help someone.....karma takes note of what you did! And it may not be immediate in its response to you it may even be a year after you fed that hungry homeless person but I guarantee you it will come back to you and not only come back but you will know that it came back because that's the power of it and it is very capable of taking that form. I myself fail often at being kind with words with people. I have PTSD and people have become something I prefer to avoid mostly and its cause I was hurt and let down many times and so I came to feel a bit too lonely and I think soon I will volunteer to help the homeless in this new area I moved to. I want to know that someone who was struggling......just like I had and did and someone with very little hope found kindness and was maybe.....not fulfilled entirely but atleast if I could fill a small part of their soul with something then if I did that over and over then I would have filled alot of small parts of many souls and I would have helped them on their most difficult experience or moment.

God I wish someone would do this for me as I am struggling with heroin addiction and could really use knowing someone cares that much.

Fighting an addiction is a hard battle most people choose not to fight
I think you are a very brave person for choosing to fight this battle
I'm glad you choose that and I'm sure you can win, you can do anything
And it'll get a lot easier very soon, just be patience 😊

Cody Meneke Not sure if you are saved or not. But have you ever thought about having a relationship with Jesus Christ? He can help you with your addiction. He loves you! You do not have to be "religious" to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, since religion is legalism. God does not want perfection, he just wants our hearts. The creator of this universe can help us with literally anything we are struggling with. Please say this prayer below, if you would like to get saved and have a relationship with Jesus.
Dear God, I am ready to give my life to you. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and that you raised him from the dead. I am ready to get saved and be set free. Please come into my heart. In Jesus name, Amen

I'm trying to find backers for a new kind of triathlon. Instead of the swim, we are to have competitors go 5 rounds with a heavyweight boxer, and then complete the bike portion, and marathon. I think the time is right for this kind of triathlon.

This experiment, while awesome, does not show the causality of binge good deed doing and increased happiness. You can have the same effect with any binge novelty activity. That's why we go to amusement parks. What would be interesting to know is how this experiment affected the subjects a week later. Great video! Misleading as it is. Still the message you are sending is clear. Do good things to others in largely comfort zone crossing ways and your happiness will improve. Or, just go skydiving.

I forgive in words and I mean it. However, my heart is broken. The hurt remains.

Sometimes healing takes a long time, but it will eventually come, but believe me I've had a lot of hurt, and healing does come at some, just don't give up hope. :) *hugs*

Aliya Pinkney You could buy someone's meal eating alone at a restaurant. I've done that and had the waitress just tell them that someone wanted to brighten their day. Kindness doesn't have to be expensive. Though we know servers work hard for they money so throwing them extra is nice too. :)
