I think, at times, we ALL feel like we're on the other side of the fence looking in. A very inspiring short and beautifully made. A world without fences/borders and filled with love and compassion. Will humanity EVER attain such a lofty goal? It deserves any and all awards given! Thanks for sharing it with us!.
Well at a social level it’s just down to individual choices, on a macroscale this kind of cooperation is unattainable through peaceful methods. You have to be a bit more… forceful, at that magnitude.
This is glorious, and I love it. The metaphor of the fence, and going to pieces like that, it's both very creative and very emotional. The fact that it's based on a real child's life just gives it that much more of a punch.
I think that iron fence between the boy and other friends is the wall that exists in real life between normal students and disabled students. And this short film may tells us that the wall can be removed if everyone works together for disabled people. :)
I absolutely love seeing people change and become better people. Everybody has seen how cruelty and evil affects people negatively and kindness and helping others giving people happiness and blessings. Unless someone is a sociopath or evil, it makes you have understanding, compassion, desire, and motivation to be good to other people and help them
I love it! It’s always easy to give in to feeling ashamed of something you can’t change instead of reaching out to the people hurting you and realizing how much strength you really have.
Sobbing here! I have a disabled child - not physically disabled but autistic, they have lost so many friends yet they try to make new friends all the time. I hope one day they’ll find friends that accept them ❤
This is an inspiring story for many disabled people around the world, even if others will laugh at you, you keep going, and get back up, and pretty soo, you will get friends, and you're days of loneliness are over. This is truelly the best story I've ever seen.
Never have I ever related to something so hard before. I grew up disabled many others like little Ian and myself can know exactly how this feels we may not know how to communicate that feeling cuz what kid knows what pain is and can fully explain it? None. Growing up disabled watching the other kids play wondering why you can’t play too is extremely isolating and lonely. Not always but more often than not it’s lonely for a long time until you finally meet ppl that see you as a person and not a disability. I unfortunately didn’t turn my bullies into friends but I met some good ppl along the way so it helped. This short film is amazing.
Это так трогательно, забор на площадке ассоциировался с преградой мальчика от других детей, и этот сильный момент, когда даже тот, кто больше всего над ним смеялся тоже помог ему, это очень сильно!
Beautiful story of determination to forge through to the other side of discriminating against those who are a little different. What a true warriors heart Ian had, he was no different to the other children, he just had a little extra to deal with, which he did beautifully 💙 Ian also carried the greatest gift of all within himself LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE 🕊👼🏻🕊
My whole school bullied me along with he teachers from 3rd all the way to the 6th they made my life miserable all because I had autism and I didn’t like the same things others did so it went on nonstop for years I would go home and cry my self to sleep cause of how hard it was to make friends. My mom went to the school everyday and threatened to sue and they didn’t care everyone in my family cried for me it was really hard for but as soon I got to 7th grade things got easier for for me I was able to go back to my normal self (I broke a kids 3 years prior cause I was tired and had a lot of pent up anger from those 5 years of hell and my biological father abused me on top of that when I went to stay with him as it was for something else but I assure you my life is better now
We all go through different bad things in life… the hard part is coming through to the other side of your pain and overcoming the heartache. Good for you for looking forward. God has a place for you if you look to Him for guidance.
This short could also be teaching parents, teachers, guardians and role models to inspire children to be mindful, empathetic and kind towards others. A child's ignorance and cruelty is only a reflection of the adults and the environment that shaped them...
Yeah, baby. Don't ever have the disabled come into your world alone, you go into theirs, and then you pull them into a better 'your world' recreated with them in mind. They have it rough enough to have earned that honest human compassion. And create less 'fences' for caregivers, too.
As an adult with a number of autoimmune diseases caused by the HLA-B27 gene, this is _so_ painfully accurate of what your world is like. As a child, maybe you have a better chance, socially, but if a rheumatological and/or neurological problem doesn't afflict you until you're an adult... it's like people stop understanding. "When will you be better?" I've been asked. I've literally had to say, "it's a *CHRONIC* health condition. It's lifelong." One friend told me, "ohhhh, don't claim that!" Uhhhhhh... that's my _objective reality._ Denying it trying to use some sort of Law of Attraction mumbo-jumbo is not suddenly going alter my reality. Oh, and the friend starting to talk to me about my illness, getting distracted by someone else, and then forgetting our conversation was also some that actually happened to me. I don't know, perhaps it's just my life. I had a circle of fairweather friends who abandoned me during a very dark time. Part of that dark time was the onset of my many comorbid diagnoses, the first one being fibromyalgia. I've had a hard time finding new social circles since I can't seem to find a church that suits me. It very hard not to cry watching this. I saw "disabled" in the title, saw the little boy's skin was made up of a binch of mosaic pieces... I knew I had to watch this. The mosaic tiles people was a *BRILLIANT* design choice. Suuuuuuuch a perfect aesthetic to illustrate neurological and rheumatological illness. I have Sjögren's syndrome, which is a demyelinating disease, and INSTANTLY connected with the boy having a tremor and difficulty holding his cup. 😢 Phenomenal little film. This is one of the best portrayals of chronic illness I've ever seen. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
This same thing actually happened in my senior year of hs. I was picked on for being a white kid, but I was friendly back, and it confused them, so they started being friendly to me and we became friends
I'm conflicted. I'm happy that a kid who can't walk has so many people who care about him, but this reminds me that I, someone with autism and nothing else, am all alone.
Спасибо не обошлось без слез когда смотришь ну испытание и думаешь нет надежды но Бог посылает тебе хороших людей чтобы твое сердце исцелить и дать силы жить
Amazing short very emotional and really brings attention to excepting others despite how they look we should all be excepting others and not leave them out just because they can’t walk or does something differently then you doesn’t mean that you should be mean to that person and make them feel unwelcome we are all human and none of us want to feel discriminated because of something that we can’t change and it isn’t our faults everyone should just except each other and not be mean towards someone because they are different. This short film is very helpful to teach people how to except others and learn to not be mean. Thank you for making this wonderful film I know I’m 3 years late but this film is amazing.
Salute to the person that made this short film. Most importantly to the little boy that inspired this film. Life is not easy but never give up. Because there are ppl out there that will have your back no matter what. May your life’s journey be filled with plenty of love and joy.

Depends on the kind of people you surround yourself with. Finding people who are supportive and kind, as well as finding people with the same condition as you can make a big difference (online groups/friends are good, because you don't have to exhaust any physical limitations to stay in touch). Sometimes it's just nice to have a group of people you can talk to, and not have to explain everything to...because they just get it.

Although I coped with this, becoming only stronger and better understanding society, I would like more children to receive the necessary support and bullying does not spoil their lives.😔
This brought me to tears... I wish for all disabled or bullied children, like me, to find their way through finding piece in their bullies and building respectful relations with them and for the bullies to understand better how the bullied children feel by their bad treatments or open their heart to them if there is something giving them pressure and makes them be afraid to show how they feel! 🤍
