Great work as usual Peter. A few points to note regarding the A/C system. The discharge pressure converted to condensing temperature, should be about 10-15°C above ambient. The suction pipe temperature out of the inter-chiller should be between 6-12°C above the evaporating temperature of the gas, this is called superheat. Assuming that it's R134a and the suction pressure is 2.0 bar, then the evaporating temperature is +0.6°C, then the temperature of the suction pipe leaving the inter-chiller should be +6.6°C to +12.6°C, load dependant. If the temperature difference is much higher, for example +20°C , then the superheat is too high and the system is low in gas or the dryer/expansion valve is blocked if the sightglass is full. I hope this helps .
I can't wait to see this 100% and what kind of times it will run. The fact it was built in the amount of time it was is impressive. Not to much out there that sounds better than that. Keep it up, we all want to see this thing ripping!
Yay! My favourite project online is getting another updates! I'm glad to see problems are getting fixed! Can't wait to see this thing laid out a decent 1/8 & 1/4 mile time!
Now u have steering angle and abs Module 💪 i think u should leave Shift- rpm where it was from Factory, it is quite aggressive especially in Sport Mode! And when i remember right it can stop u from shifting gears when it sees too much difference in Engine power / vehicle Speed so it will Not burn up the clutches
Holy molly. If my "napkin math" is right, based on the top speed in each gear for an R8, that car did a 10-150 kph pull in a matter of 4-5 seconds on street tires. Fan va gött.
Hello friend, since the beginning of your Volvo project, seeing how it evolves and evolves, you are great, friend, greetings from Salamanca, Chile 🇨🇱🏜️😊
Hi peter , i m a fan of you for a long time ... the supra time ! it was like close to 20 years ago 😅 ... i m old now 43 years old 😂 it is always a pleasure to see how you are tuning your car ... it is always difficult to ajust everything with so much electronik , but it looks like you are going to the right way ! congrats and i cant wait to see the next steps ! Greetings from France bro 👌
Hello Peter!! I’ve just been watching the latest video from Real Mechanic Stuff and they’ve shown a clip of one of your videos. Which hopefully serves as a bit of exposure for you. (Possibly unfortunately) it was one of your spectator videos from a Liwa hillclimb, but we must look on the bright side, there’s no such thing as bad publicity (TnCs apply, see in store for more details 😀) at least in this case anyway. I hope you’re well anyway and full on f the will to win (next year’s StreetWeek at least!) :) :)
Hey up Peter your car is beautiful work and a full credit to you, nice seeing the step's getting closer to the goal super looking forward to these up coming race's should definitely do well in the 200m so in quarters as well, that much electronics would drive me insane you're a good fella keep it up
Full props for all the work & thanks for the videos ... and the appearance of VCDS made me laugh (I have that app for my old Golf R, and you're using it on a monster Volvo/ Lambo / not even sure at this point). Success to you!
Hejsan Peter. What a beast. I love your project and watch every day for new videos from you. I also love Sweden. 🇸🇪 if I did what you are doing here I Denmark I would be locked far away by the police and they will destroy the car 😮 Greeting from Denmark 🇩🇰😄
So as far as I know, the R8's or Lamborgini's are not real all-wheel drive vehicles. The front axle can normally only transmit 150 to 180 Nm if the rear wheels have no traction. This is a kind of vario-transmission on the front axle (similar to a flywheel, I think it's fluid-based). There are modified versions, but even these only manage 250 Nm, then the original component is the end. Take a closer look, because the ratio is never 50:50 or 40:60 from front to rear. Normally it's more like 20:80. That's a cheated all-wheel drive. Also for weight reasons. Kind regards Peter
No this is a bit different than the earlier versions. This is from Audi self studdy program: "The drive power for the front axle is transferred through the transmission output shaft. The reduction ratio of the trans- mission output shaft is such that the circumferential speed of the front wheels is slightly higher than the circumferential speed of the rear wheels. This difference is referred to as "lead". Depending on the driving situation, it is the basis for the controlled transfer of up to 100% of drive torque (drive power) to the front axle. " "Irrespective of the engine torque and selected gear, the all-wheel drive clutch can transfer a portion of the avail- able drive power in a controlled manner. In this way, up to 406 lb ft (550 Nm) of torque are transferred to the front differential pinion shaft. Refer to page 11. The reduc- tion ratio of the differential produces up to 1106 lb ft (1500 Nm) of torque at the front axle."
15:30 I would keep some (a lot) of FWD at high speed: you generally don't need it but it shouldn't hurt. And the day you launch on a wet/greasy surface and the back end wants to swerve at 200 kph, you'll be happy the front is pulling...
Looks like you're having a lot of fun Peter, so glad to see you getting to enjoy all the hard work. I hope your testing goes well and you can make some more progress. Such an interesting project - will you be able to take the dog from your wagon in the passenger seat for the next race?
I really like how you used the OEM steering clockspring to pass data to your CAN-button-thingy module but it looks atrocious. Maybe you could simply model and print a round case that sits in lieu of the airbag and to which you would relocate all 8 buttons?
Do you have ac compressor tuned to low piston throw when engine is in high rpm ? If not, it will blow again soon. Regular compressors turns off usually around 3k - 3.5K rpm to not push them to over rev.
Sounds like you just got a bit of learning and programming to do in order to get it the way you want it.. you dont need to focus on the laser height stuff for a while, only use those on rwd drags to throttle based on your separation but you have 4wd variable so getting all that set up will take a few nights of tinkering with it.. but hell, you need to get a nice wrap put on it or a paint job and get it styling .. your famous in that thing and needs to look the part.. keep up the good work though sir. Dont put her in a ditch..
Looks like the dialling in is going well. Just 2 questions, the oil pressure looks high? 6 or7 bar. And in terms of the dynamics 4 wheel drive. I would imagine, subject to testing, to minimise the front wheel drive, may be 10% in first gear launch, to reduce bogging and minimise load on transmission input shafts, particularly when using slicks?
are your intercoolers on refrigerant? like air/refrigerant instead of air/water. ive thought of doing a chiller for an air to water system that i could also use for in car a/c on the street.
Though we never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Peter If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Peter.
Jag hoppas kunna hitta på något bra breddnings kitt i vinter. Just nu är bara preliminär nödlösning :) Framskärmarna gjordes från original till detta på två kvällar! :)

Not only does it go fast as hell. It looks sick also!
Okay, I am going to watch the whole series from the beginning. But one thing I can say at this point is: YOU ARE INSANE!

Nice video dude! Please more videos about this monster 🙏
Some very cool details, enjoyed that a lot, you’ve got some skills Peter
I am missing your 2jz Supra those videos were awesome, you have built quite a monster with the Volvo gini waiting for your next video.

Yes officer, I may have been in sixth gear revving nearly 7000 rpm. But you see officer this car has a very short final gear!

Nice work!

How does the transfer case modulate the different % of drive to the front wheels? Clutches?
