The craziest part is that i didn’t even realize this was a spooky video until halfway through the chase scene. Even the music didn’t clue me in cause it was that good of a fit😭
It was a hell of a twist! For me personally, my ‘fight or flight’ response immediately kicked into overdrive the moment I heard the music play, I’m all too familiar with the music from Clock Tower lol

You know, i wouldn't mind if this became a trend and indie developers started to make games with this "Old CRT" aesthetic in mind.
Back in the day this is what we had, but now it's so dreamy and nostalgic in a different way than 8-bit or 16-bit games were.

As someone who's been following analog horror/ARG type content for years now, I've got to say that what you're doing feels like such a breath of fresh air. No over the top editing, cheap jumpscares or random audio spikes. None of the cliché bullshit the genre has become plagued with. Just some VHS quality gameplay footage that looks real enough to be believable but feels uncanny and liminal in a way that fills you with a certain sense of dread. I have no idea exactly where you're going with this series but I can't wait to see more!

This is definitely a video I didn't expect to see from this channel, buy I'm pleasantly suprised. The fact it is from this channel may actually increase its spook factor quite a bit, as nothing like this has been on here since.
But what really sells it is how restrained it is, while still actually going somewhere. Tikal (seemingly) being an antagonist is definitely something I haven't seen before, and the chase was tense in a strange, but good way. The Try Again and Game Over screens excellently capture the dreadful feeling failure screens can have in games, and honestly feel like they were picked straight out from a bad/bizarre dream.
I'm interested in what other secrets this build of Sonic Adventure is hiding from us.

That stage was Hill Top zone from Sonic 2. Also that ending would've scared the crap out of me as a kid if this was how it went down for Knuckles path in the real game 😨

You know, it’s not really something the games have ever really delved into, the horror aspect of the series. Because Sonic despite how it may appear on the outside, can be pretty goddamn dark, sure we the player never truly feel like things are ever that dire, but we play from Sonic’s perspective and he never lets himself feel as though things will ever be anything other than alright, because he knows everyone looks up to him whether he wants them to or not.
But looking from an in universe lens, a lot of the games stories might leave you a little unsettled with the information the games don’t focus on. From the existential dread of Unleashed, to the darker implications Eggman’s rule of Earth had in the 6 months between the beginning and end of Forces, to Shadow and that game’s total genocide of an entire species alongside countless millions of not billions of lives lost in the war.
The games might not cover horror all that much, but the series really has the potential to tell some incredibly terrifying stories, and they don’t even need to involve some dark god or ghosts, nope, just hone in on the psychological horror aspects of the series and run with it.

7:03 *BAD TOUCH BAD TOUCH*
This is what I wanted Sonic Adventure's direction to go with some major changes. The Chaos story just doesn't seem to fit with the games narrative very well when you solely observe the story itself. For the sake of the story, I think everything involving Chaos, Tikal, the Echidna Tribe, the Chao, the Master Emerald, & Knuckles should be removed & combined into a treasure hunting, puzzle solving, fighing, platfomer, solo Knuckles the Echidna game so Sonic Adventure can have a more focused split storyline between the rest of the remaining characters.
In the revised version, Eggman would be the main villain & his goal would be to take over the entirety of Station Square, forest area, and a newer area (sense the ancient temples would now be part of the Knuckles game) and trys to turn it into Eggmaland. Sonic, Tails, Amy, & Gamma, & Big (with his story instead trying to rescue Froggy after being kidnapped by eggman to power his robots) would separately stop his efforts, by fighting Eggman & his E-100 robots, the eventually come together for a final fight. Also if you collect all seven Red Rings (because the events of Sonic 3 & K connect & the Super Emeralds remained on Angel Island), there's a secret true ending where you fight Eggman as Hyper Sonic. The character's stories are largely unchanged with some minor tweaking. The Chao Garden can still be a thing but the narrative side of the Chao will largely be in the Knuckles.
Meanwhile, Knuckles would have his own unique adventure working with spirit Tikal to stop Chaos from collecting the shattered pieces of the Master Emerald that're scattered all over Angel Island & using them to destory his island & the world while learning about the origins of Tikal, his tribe, the Chao, Chaos, & why he was tasked with guarding the Master Emerald. The player would be using the treasure hunting gameplay, of course, solving puzzles, fighting & saving Chaos-possessed animals (similar to Froggy in the original), & also meeting Rouge the Bat for the first time as a minor antagonist stopping her from trying to collect the emerld pieces for profit.
This would be a much better format for Sonic's transition into 3D & Knuckles would spin-off into his own game series, while still loosely being connected to Sonic's world & executing some much need world building that makes sense.

Pretty sure that it was done by reskinning Tails or making the Tikal model/NPC a follower like how Tails follows Sonic in Sonic's stages.
