      Hello, have you heard of bpc 157? I suffered from gastrointestinal issues since I was a teen (in late 40s) about 4 years ago I started taking oral BpC 157 for tendonitis. Bpc is a peptide. Which is a long strain of amino acids. It helps repair the intestinal walls create blood flow to healing wounds and and regulate the microbiome. never , thought I would be able to repair my gut issues. I used to get heartburn five six times a week. Had a very limiting diet and painful gass. I haven't even had heartburn in over 4 years thanks to bpc 157. Also haven't had a tendonitis flare up in 4 years either.
      This stuff changed my life for the better. I only wish that I would have found it 30 years ago.

    Hi Amanda, do you offer SIBO consultation? Do you take insurance? I am looking for a functional practitioner who will prescribe the GI Map for my daughter.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  2 года назад +1

      Hi 44 Duet, I do support clients with SIBO and IBS, I offer a comprehensive program to help people go from food anxiety, endless questions and second guessing about their SIBO symptoms to a confident plan for calm digestion. I do also offer the GI MAP and SIBO testing inside the program. However, I do not take insurance, and for full transparency, I am not a doctor. I'm a gut health coach, and fill in all the gaps between your doctor and your daily life! Many people in the program rely on my coaching for their numerous questions and day-to-day decision making, but also maintain a relationship with an MD or ND for prescriptions and sometimes for getting testing covered by insurance.

    Hello Amanda, are you familiar with the work of Karen Hurd? She claims that root cause of sibo is a congested bile/liver issue, that's what sibo keeps coming back even after a round of antibiotics. Whats your take on it?

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  2 года назад +2

      Hi Ty Ty, I have not heard of Karen Hurd or her theory about the gall bladder. In theory, I can agree that some cases of SIBO are caused by this, but I would not agree that ALL cases are caused by the same thing. We are all unique, and there are several other recognized causes, including adhesions/scar tissue, food poisoning, etc. Thanks for watching!

      Respectfully, celery juice works for some, but not for others. Having met with hundreds of people with SIBO and IBS, not all of them find it works for them. If you try it out and it works, great! Keep going! If not, don't feel like there's anything wrong with you, just don't keep using it.

    Thanks for the great info. I see that you take the time to reply when you can so I will ask this question in the hopes of getting an answer. I had some bloating which isnt as bad now but still slightly present but also I am consistently having a cramping feeling on my right side under my rib cage and and goes around to my kidney area back right. This has not gone away in a couple of months some days i might get lucky and have little or no cramps while others will be worse. I wont feel the cramping all day but definitely it will become present when I am more fatigued or later in the day. Note I have had my gallbladder removed over 20 years a go.....I have been on a PPI over 20 years....My EGD and colonoscopy were clean. So with the episode of bloating followed by this lasting right side cramping I am thinking I have SIBO or something similar. Could I be backed up in the bowels even if I am pretty regular? I went to a GI Dr and he said take Boulardi one cap per day and see how you feel. I have not started that med yet as I think he just threw that out there and collected his copay. He was retiring in a month.... Do my symptoms of bloating and right side cramping sound like SIBO to you?

      Hi Hannah, I worked on Dr. Ruscio's team for a while, and my approach is similar to his. It's based on cautiously moving ahead, and relying on what you observe to make your next decisions. The order he recommends makes sense to me: work on low hanging fruit first, making whatever progress you can with simple diet and behavior changes, only moving on to more complex therapies or treatments if necessary. I support @drruscio and his approach and methods. :)

      You can't. Sometimes, elevated E. coli or Methanobrever can INDICATE SIBO but this is very imperfect. In this case, treating and observing the changes in symptoms may be the best you can do.

    Can you have methane detected in sibo if not detected in microbiome stool sample.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  Год назад +1

      Absolutely...this is a common misperception. Dr. Pimentel and Dr. Rezaie's recent research clearly demonstrated that the gut microbiome in the large intestine is distinct from the gut microbiome in the small intestine. You cannot "infer" SIBO is present from a stool test.
