  • Biofilm Busters for Gut Infections: DO YOU NEED THEM?// Treatment resistant gut infections are sometimes due to microbial biofilms. In this video, I discuss what is biofilm, what is a biofilm buster, what to use for gut biofilm breakdown, and how to get rid of biofilm. This is valuable for those with SIBO, IBS, any kind of dysbioisis or other gut infection.

      @@nicolaroberts4405 my oldest son has chronic Lyme, and the Biofilm Phase 2 product is the one my Naturopath has recommended. My son uses it 5 days on, 2 days off, and really finds benefit from it. It's a long term strategy, but he really notices that symptoms are less under control when he's not using it, or if we run out. Yes I’ve been using Interfase plus and I’m not impressed with it when trying to deal with Candida.
      Only a few months in at two capsules per day and it has made symptoms much worse .I thought it was die off but I have since found out on a forum that is has something in it that may feed Candida .So it weakens the biofilms but feeds the Candida at the same ,a vicious cycle that makes Candida even more aggressive.than before .My advice is stay well away from Klaire Labs Interfase Plus if you have Candida.. I believe the Cellulase in it feeds Candida . What is the name of biofilm buster you mentioned in this video ,I didn’t catch ? I’m trying to find an alternative that won’t feed the little critter.
      Also I just wonder if you have ever heard of Micheal Biamonte ? He’s an expert in Candida and has some podcasts on Apple called the “ The Candida Chronicles “. Been listening and I’m shocked at how intelligent Candida is it’s brilliant at survival ,very devious pathogen .Just been doing some research on it and according to him the antifungals should always be rotated every 21 days . .He’s not keen on the keto diet either and believes the ketones may actually feed the Candida ,very interesting but controversial I’m sure .

    Thank you very much! Extremely helpful! 🙏 I’ve been taking NAC+bromelain and ALA for antinfiammatory purposes and noticed immediate relief of my SIBO/IBS symptoms, I now know why! I knew my issues were caused by fungal overgrowth, but taking standard natural antimicrobicals worsened my constipation… when I shifted to a carnivore diet (especially fatty fish) rich in garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, apple cider vinegar + rosemarin & grapefruit seeds supplements things got better, but NAC + bromelain and ALA were real game-changers. I’m now reintroducing resistant starch, a very little bit once a day in order to nourish butyrrate-producing bacteria, very important for constipation… Here is the list:
    1. NAC: n-acetyl-cysteine;
    2. alpha-lipoid acid ALA;
    3. coconut oil / mct oil;
    4. Enzymes
    5. Biofilm Phase-2 advanced (supplement).
    Binders:
    1. GI detox;
    2. Activated charcoal (might increase constipation);
    3. Bentonite clay.

      I'm not sure if you mean when during the day should you take them, or when in relation to the antibiotics...during the day, ideally, you take the biofilm disruptor on an empty stomach, but if that bothers you or causes nausea or other side effects, you can take with food. And if you meant should you use them during a course of antibiotics, many practitioners recommend yes. My ND recommended this for me, and I've used NAC for my previous two rounds, and she requested I use a different product, Biofilm Phase 2 during this new round I just started. @@ConfluenceNutrition It’s quite possible that I have the same thing that you mentioned that you just received treatment for. I’ve learned how the methane disrupts peristalsis. Disrupts. Lol. More like halts. Im going to Stamford next week. They have a motility clinic & I should be able to get this figured out after the Cipro disaster. I’ve ceased all probiotics because I don’t know if the probiotics just give it more nutrients.
      My question is this 1) how important is it to take neomycin with rifixan? Vs one or the other.
      And 2) I saw that Methane dominant sibo is now called something else to convey a new understanding of the disease process. I’m sure you know it. Cinnamon, allycin in tincture, and some supplement that contains horse chestnut and an osmotic laxative. Have you any experience with a therapy course like this? They went pretty heavy on the garlic at 6 pills per day. Sorry for the long message.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  3 года назад

      @@richardworker9280 Hi Richard...in my understanding, the standard protocol is the rifaximin WITH neomycin OR metronidazole. This is the protocol that Dr. Pimentel has studied in his clinical trials. Rifaximin alone usually isn't enough. And if you have a stubborn case, biofilm buster can be necessary too. I would not use anything with horse chestnut in it...and laxatives can be valuable, but in my opinion, we want to do our best to avoid them. I wouldn't expect cinnamon and allicin alone to deal with SIBO. The herbal protocols are a little more involved, and it depends on which type of SIBO you have. Have you not been tested? THe test is important to know how to direct treatment. Thanks for watching, and I hope this helps!
