      Thanks for the video! I'm a 40 year old male who was feeling like a million dollars a month ago before I had my very first colonic. Ever since then, I feel like my world has been falling apart (Insomnia, anxiety, depression, headaches.) My acupuncturist suggested a GI Map and Zonulin test. I sent it off on Tuesday. Can't wait to get my results back! :)

    You're awesome! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I started working with a nutritionist here in the UK due to unexplained high ESR and CRP inflam markers that ive had for a few years now. Nutritionist suggested 1) Nordic GI Map, 2) Cyrex Array 12, and 3) Cyrex Array 3. These tests are quite expensive and I wondered if you had advice for which I should prioritise first in my journey/ which things are best to rule out first. Thank you

    Thank you, I've just sent the test away earlier this week - awaiting the results. Been dealing with pretty severe autoimmune and digestive issues for the past five years. I was diagnosed with 'mild Crohn's' in November 2019, but that never quite added up for me, I know there's more to the story. Unfortunately the doctors here in Nova Scotia are somewhat old fashioned and would never even think to recommend a test like this.

    I've read that high beta glucuronidase can have affects on your estrogen being recirculated back into your body and not being excreted out which causes alot of problems in women. I just ordered my GI MAP today excited to get it and get results.

      @ConfluenceNutrition  3 года назад

      Hi Gypsy, the GI MAP does indeed test for candida and a few other yeasts. I don;t know too much about beta glucoronidase, but I did hear from someone on Dr. Ruscio's podcast that this marker isn't well validated for much. Did you get your results? What did they show?

    H Pylori is 1.1e3, and Secretory IgA is >6000, Anti-gliadin IgA is >500. What are your thoughts? My GI doc wants to repeat the H Pylori to confirm the result.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  2 года назад +1

      Hi Flower Flower, GREAT question! Stool tests are always ONE data point in time, and the community members of our microbiome in our guts grow and shrink over time, they aren't stable! So it's possible that the first test caught your HP infectoin early on, and as time went on, it expanded. OR, it's also possible your stool collection method was better on the second test, or maybe you took a biofilm buster before the second test?
      In any event, levels of any pathogen can change from one test to the next. I'm presuming you didn't do any treatment for HP between the two tests? This is why it's important to have someone knowledgable to help you interpret your test results who also understands your particular case, so you can create good action steps moving forward. Thank you for watching!

      THere are different types of tests, but the categories are usually similar...but usually, you'll need to ask the practitioner who ordered for you, or contact the lab directly if you didn't work with someone to get it.

    My h-pylori result is 5.80e2
    Is this a bad rating? Do I have a bad case of H-pylori?

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  Год назад

      On the GI MAP test, the cutoff for a positive H pylori test is 1.000e3, meaning 1,000 or greater individual bacteria were found. so 5.80e2 means 580 bacteria. THus far, my experience with clients has been that treating is usually minimally effective with this level.

    High steatocrit and low pancreatic enzymes...help!

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  3 года назад

      Hi Julie! These mean that there is excess undigested fat in your poop, and that your pancreas also isn't producing enough enzymes. A digestive enzyme focused on fat digestion, like Enzymedica LypoGold, may be a help in this situation, but it's also important to be in connection with your doctor about this. Thanks for watching!

    • @fergyjtube
      @fergyjtube 3 года назад

      @@ConfluenceNutrition have you ever seen steatocrit as high as 44 and elastase as low as 143? Am I in extreme danger? Something you work with or do I need to get a medical doc involved? My IgA is also extremely low. I’m just very scared. This is all after a six month later parasite cleanse.

    • @ConfluenceNutrition
      @ConfluenceNutrition  3 года назад

      @@fergyjtube Hi Julie, these aren't anything to panic about, they're just excellent indicators that there's work to do supporting your digestive function. If you're worried, you should alwasy visit your doctor. And I think there are a lot of layers that can be addressed before that's necessary, depending on what kinds of things are going on for you.
      I'm very soon launching a new online course that will be teaching how to help you go from digestive and food chaos to a carefree relationship with your gut. If you'd like to be in the know when I launch, let me know! Whatever is going on for you, I can likely put you back in the driver's seat and help you feel a lot better. Thanks for watching!

      I'm not sure if you can access it in the UK...I am able to order for EU clients, but I don't know how that applies or doesn't at this point, given Brexit. You can probably find a local-to-you practitioner who could order it.
