I finally realized why the NFL hates running quarterbacks, they take away all the penalties an official can call because the quarterback is now a runner and has all the protections a running back or receiver has. It fucks up the bottom line and narrative the NFL wants.
Well also they get hurt more often and injured QBs means lost games which means fired coaches

Hell, it woulda been a seriously bad look for them not to have given him that award in light of his 30-For-30 promotion where he donated a s*** ton of money sent to him by other fans to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. No matter what any other football fan RUclipsr did in order to demonstrate their love for their favorite franchise and the NFL in general, there's no way that the NFL could have given that award to anyone else other than Tom

Manipulation though making the season make it feel like a year round experience not just a few months
The funny thing is that I really don't care to watch full games anymore. Sometimes NFL Redzone since there aren't commercials and I'm not stuck in a boring Patriots/Jets snoozefest, but in general I like to spend nice Arizona November days outdoors. I keep up on the NFL almost solely through youtube channels like this, U-Tree, Perna and a couple others. To be honest, if the NFL manipulated you guys into being less authentic, I probably would go find the next unaffiliated guy shitposting the weekly recaps.
You don't watch full games because you'd rather spend 4 Sundays in November, outside? You can't manage to put aside 3 hrs to watch a game because your urge to go outside is that strong?
You know that the NFL season lasts two months past November, right?
And it is just one day a week, more or less. Right?

The Red Zone is spectacular. But one thing I've noticed between hockey and football is that there are very few breaks in play in hockey, so there are far fewer commercials and more entertainment. RedZone basically makes the NFL watchable without being bombarded with ads.
Prime-time games are the worst. If a game is moving quickly because both teams are heavily running the ball, the refs will start calling penalties to get the game to end by 9:30 MST.
He cant stand being sedentary and watching the league rig outcomes and ignore blatant mistakes(or intended). Sorry, the NFL is trash now. Has been for a long time. Its not an organic game , its entertainment with the teams the league desires to win, winning. I'd rather watch a childs cartoon than the nfl.

Oddly enough, I actually originally came here because of stadium critiques, actually. That's where I first learned of your channel. And while they were great (and I recalled one of your videos the other day as I drove past Roosevelt Stadium in Union City, NJ), the rest of these videos have been what's kept me here.

btw...I watched the last Super Bowl on Telemundo - not CBS. More unedited, unscripted coverage - including a Chiefs assistant coach pushing a cameraman away from Andy Reid at game's end yelling 'get the fuck outta here !' A lot less Taylor Swift and doppelgangers, too. 🏈

This is ligamently one of the best videos I've ever seen on RUclips. You're speakin the truth no matter what. I love sports and I love everything that comes with it. It's not just the nfl. Every professional league is a business first. There's no reason to pretend like the bottom dollar doesn't matter more to them more than what fans think. As long as people are watching that's all they care about. We need to rally around each other. Don't let corporations take away the innate love for fairness and competition we have as humans ❤
Another way they manipulate: who they call penalties for. As a Bears fan watching the NFL last year was shit, especially because despite a ton of obvious roughing the passer penalties happening against Justin Fields, not a single one was called. But QBs like Patrick Mahomes get them constantly, it’s a clear bias against certain teams and players.

@@michaelhowell2326 I never said that, for sure the refs can rig games, what is impossible though (and what I actually said) is that you can't script an NFL game because even if teams practiced together (which they undeniably and provabley don't) there would still be no way to make sure that passes didn't get dropped

My opinion is that Vegas has a hand in every major (televised) sport in the US but I do feel that there is still stuff being done to keep betting from altering outcomes, I think the NBA banning Porter from Toronto is a good warning to everybody not just the NBA, but then again I have lost a few bets on blown calls or some sus bias. I know this isn't really that on topic but who really cares ty for reading lmao
Despite whatever leagues themselves do to influence games, they are all doing everything they can to keep gambling from affecting the outcome. Once that happens, you draw a lot of attention from the federal government, and then things like MLB’s antitrust exemption and how the NFL deals with CTE, come under scrutiny. Not to mention all the cash gambling sponsorships bring to the leagues and teams.

I like the way that the xfl deals with flags and the fact coaches can challenge a call or call for a penalty. The nfl should implement these rules so that the refs arent as persuasive on a game

I turn off all football a few years ago. I spent 40 years wasting my life watching that stuff for hours. Now, I actually do things… things that I always wanted to do during those hours. It’s incredible.

In my opinion the biggest manipulator is fantasy football. This is coming from someone who is absolutely a hypocrite in this. I am very invested in fantasy and watch redzone almost every Sunday. Before I got into fantasy, I’d only watch the Broncos on the CBS Sunday afternoon game. Now, I suddenly care about 10+ of the teams, and I’m motivated to watch redzone to keep up with my fantasy players.

Each year, I find myself caring less and less, and it's not just me. A small group of friends, who used to watch religiously each Sunday, are often missing games and barely caring about it. I might re-engage more once they get finally just putting flags on everyone. At least that would be honest. In the meantime, the pussification of the NFL continues on, unabated.

I stopped watching the NFL about a decade ago. From the 1980’s to about 2010 I knew every player, their jersey # their height their weight their college and the round they were drafted in. Today I do not know any of them. I just watch Redskins games on RUclips from when Joe Gibbs was coach.

Look at what they did to ESPN over that show Playmakers. They told them if they didn't pull it then they wouldn't allow them to air the NFL. That show was a hit. Big ratings too. They displayed everything from head injuries to the impact of gay players. The league felt it cast them in a bad light. Even though all these problems were true. Making them cut it, now that's manipulation
