  • For the first time in the TED history, during the TEDxPolitechnikaOpolska conference in Opole, Poland, intelligent humanoid robot made a speech.
In his first public oration, “Mr. Pepper” was talking about the robot’s genesis and explained how artificial intelligence can make humans’ life easier.
“Mr. Pepper” is 1,2 meters tall, has the paddle wheel and can imitate the human’s speech and moves.
He is useful in different simple works. He can help us to choose the proper movie, the best hotel room or to take the order at the restaurant. His possibilities are unlimited.
Is the humans and robots symbiosis possible?
Have you ever thought about that?
Po raz pierwszy w historii TED prelekcję wygłosił inteligentny robot humanoidalny w ramach konferencji TEDxPolitechnikaOpolska.
W swoim pierwszym publicznym wystąpieniu „Mr. Pepper” wyjaśnił genezę powstania robotów i opowiadał w jaki sposób sztuczna inteligencja może ułatwić życie ludziom.
„Mr. Pepper” ma 1,2 m wysokości, napęd kołowy i potrafi imitować gesty, ruchy i mowę człowieka.
Można go wykorzystać w prostych pracach. Pomoże nam wybrać odpowiedni film w kinie, przyjąć zamówienie w restauracji, czy wskazać najlepszy pokój w hotelu. Możliwości są praktycznie nieograniczone…
Czy roboty i ludzie mogą funkcjonować w symbiozie?
    Zastanawiałeś się nad tym?
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Apparently, pepper is supposed to be a boy (as said by SoftBank robotics), but she really doesn't fit that. I had the pleasure to meet her by the Smithsonian and the technology still blows me away. Very organic movement, very approachable for being not alive, and just freaking cool.

Quite patronising to state that robots are only doing the 'boring jobs that no one wants'. They're boring jobs that a lot of people depend on. The rise of robots will only benefit huge companies, and the poor will suffer. Surprised that a TED video is trying to mask over this blatant issue.
