    Hey Guys, sorry my videos have been coming out erratically lately, but my full time job sometimes has to take priority, which sucks to be honest! lol.
    But here is my ship build video for the federal corvette. Please remember that this is a PVE build and a work in progress.

    Your hud colors and channel color is sick. Personally purple is my favorite color but only certain shades of it and you have found the perfect one

    As always a great vid Mr Jones. With regards sensors some friends and I have been experimenting with D rated sensors but with the long range engineering. D rated to save some mass as the engineering adds so much. I have an emissions range of about 10km with a sensor range of 13.9km. We found that the A rated module doesn't seem to give better range, it is great being able to see targets in a res site nearly 14km away. I hope you find this info useful. Also been experimenting with Thermal resistant prismatics but thats another story. Please keep the vids coming, I love your content and have found your back catalogue both entertaining and very useful.

    Replace a small laser with multicannon and put cursive on it. Then put better modifications on the huge multicannons

    LOL this was my exact build except I had incendiary shell on both of my mcs before efficient beams came, now I just cant go back. Firing those 2 huge beams on my vette once in a while is one of the most cathartic and pleasurable experiences of my life right now.

    G5 efficient fixed beam oversized experimental,
    G5 dirty drag drive experimental,
    G5 recharge enhanced super conduits experimental,
    G5 thermo block bi-weave fast charge experimental,
    G5 resistance augmented boosters with force block experimental.
    Shields never go down no need for hull upgrades and never worry about ammo or shield cells, also kill anacondas real quick. PS no heat issues no need for heatsinks/low emission.

    It gives me a bit of a confidence boost to know that my build is very similar in concept, although applied to a 'Conda. I also prefer much more general builds to combat the diminishing returns. Though since the 'Conda doesn't have as good of modules as the 'Vette, so instead of a prismatic and SCBs I'm running a bi-weave. So I only have 2,322 shields but my resistances are right around yours.

    I've managed to finally complete a build that's very similar to this one, but, instead of using rapid fire on the MCs, I've gone with overcharged. I'm finding the ammo efficiency to be just a tiny bit better than the rapid fire weapons. Plus, I'm using a 7C Bi-Weave shield, with 6 boosters and 2 SCBs, all engineered to reach 50% minimum resistances, and as much shield cap and hull as I can reach.

    I recommend 8D sensors with max grade long range engineering. You will save some weight this way, compared to the 8A. Try to aim for max range, i got mine at 9.7km and i can spot ships from max 12km.

    A turreted multi-cannon and pulse laser with corrosive shell and scramble spectrum would solve problems with multiple non-stacking secondary effects, and leave better secondaries on other better weapons.

      I've used a medium turret corrosive mc with high capacity. Its pretty good not to have to worry about aiming it when using fixed weapons.

    I have a FAS with a lot of HRPs - about 9k effective hull points - but no MRPs, and I've found that even though I barely lose any hull percentage, it doesn't take long before my modules start malfunctioning. And this is against NPCs, so no module sniping going on. I'm guessing there must be a point of balance between hull and module protection, but I haven't found the ideal sweet-spot yet.

      Just did mine, did it by data running and cargo running in systems Sothis and Ceos. It took a freaking long time, but I did do it and made about 100 mil in the process. Major setbacks were when running multiple cargo missions 2 or more will trigger incoming pirates the bonus mission where you kill them for bonus cash, but I suck at combat. So, most time I had to evade interdiction which the ai buggers always staggered them so sometimes it took a bit longer to get to the station. Something I think Frontier should do is that if you have multiple cargo missions to a single system that only one at any time can have the bonus which is incoming enemies just to prevent the interdiction chaining, they do. I even unlocked and got to rank 4 Marco Quint in the process. But now I have to do the raw material grind.

    if you use heat sink and scb in the same time first, and then look when the heat is going to go down and activate immediatly the 2nd scb at this precise moment, your ship will not overheat. It is my way to use 2scb with only one heat sink and it works very well. I can also shoot with my thermal vents lasers at the same time without overheating. Of course don't boost at the same time and don't do it near a star or when doing other things witch can grow up your temperature. I hope It will help you ;-)

      It is coming. I have about 3 videos on the backburner. Just that this year I have had to devote more time to my full time job and every time I get a spare day to work on videos, something crops up! It will come though.

    Awesome video , i am long way before i can get Corvette but using your advices i am currently building my Anaconda , since i love rapid fire pulse lasers on everything . Looks like similar build to yours will work on Annie too

    Ok actual question I understand that 2 guns with scramble doesn't stack but is it just the same chance even though its 2 or is it like 2 rolls of the dice? Like it's a 1 of 6 chance but since you get shot twice its 1 of 6 then another 1 of 6 or is it a flat chance applied to the whole ship?

      I genuinely have no idea... I have been trying to figure this out myself.... I like to think they double your chance, as I do seem to knock out modules quite ofen

      It doesn’t stack. It has a cool down for when the effect will happen and it will usually happen almost immediately when you hit the hull. You only need one, having 2 or more is a waste.

    Re: your balanced shield fitting where you've intentionally compromised on resistance for extra raw MJs does make sense on a lightweight fit-out - if you're not expecting the shield to be overly-taxed at any one moment, you can recover with natural regen between bursts of combat, and the larger shield gives you the buffer you need. On ships with shield cell banks however, going for the highest resistances makes most sense as your raw hp is in the cells, plus you have to sacrifice (at least) one booster for heatsink(s) so each MJ of cell charge is worth more when the shield has highest resistances.
    For my corvette, I run a lightweight style fit out for most things - if I'm going into a conflict zone without Healy-beam buddies, then I'll fit SCBs, and I swap out a few of the heavy duty boosters for resistance augmented and heat sinks (I have to fit a different powerplant to get it all online, and it's toasty as all hell, so I prefer the lightweight fit as often as possible).

      Umm, not really as pushing resistances beyond 50% means your paying for it in diminishing returns... your better off having a balance between raw MJ's and about 40-50% resistances. Having 55-65% resistances is not better than having the raw MJ... well, in my opinion. I have tried full resistance builds before, and they were only marginally better, but I had a lot less MJ.. wasnt worth it in my opinon.. But everyones play style is different. Go with the build that works best for you.

      Vindicator Jones - Yeah, going with what works for ya is a good rule to follow! With the SCB build, my resistances weren't overly extreme because I had dual heat sink. I put the extra RA booster because coriolis said the shields would hold longer that way, but I'm gonna try your way - You're pretty bob-on about everything else, so I've no reason to doubt that trying it is a good idea!

      +CMDR Large Marge. Yeah, a G5 ENG Vette is pretty tough. I've never lost shields in mine, and I've had it for ~9 months. Taken into Haz res, CZ, Assassin missions, PVP etc.

    Hi vindicator, how did you get your shield strength value so high on your Prismatic Shields? The best i have been able to achieve is 3200 with 4 shield boosters. I have only attempted 8 rolls with the same prismatic shields with the Engineers so far.

      looks like he has 7 SB 2 thermal resistance and 5 heavy duty , and probably some luck with rolls.
      *Ninja Edit* 4 "perfect" +180% rolls on SB and shield with 30% more optimal strenght and you have 4515 shield strenght

    Why military grade or mirrored for armor and not reactive surface engineered to fix the -thermal?

      As far as Coriolis shows - military has -40% explosive and -20% kinetic resistances (we take MORE damage). We can engineer it for blast resistant to plug the explosive hole, but that makes the kinetic one even bigger and even make thermal go in to negative resistance. If we decide to go with Heavy duty modification - we'll get more raw armor, but still a 30%ish hole (best case) in explosive resistance. Either way you get one damage type that you have ~ -32% resistance to (either explosive or kinetic), which is still bad and can't be called "best protection in all circumstances"
      If you instead pick Reactive surface composites which have +20% explosive, +25% kinetic and -40% thermal and engineer it with Thermal resistant modification you'll get +10.4% explosive, +16% kinetic and +16% thermal resistances. With this setup you get all around boost to resistances , and in terms of effective armor HP it translates to ~28.6% better effective HP compared to the lowest resistance on the military grade composite with Heavy duty mod and ~47.3% better effective HP compared to the lowest resistance on the military grade composite with Blast resistant mod.
      Just to make things clearer i made 2 coriolis anaconda setups with the exact same reinforcements and the only difference being the military/reactive surface composites.
      The military version with Heavy duty mod has:
      3251 thermal EHP
      2709 kinetic EHP
      2322 explosive EHP
      With Blast resistant mod it has:
      2433 thermal EHP
      2028 kinetic EHP
      3186 explosive EHP
      Compare this with Reactive surface composite with Thermal resistant mod:
      3186 thermal EHP
      3186 kinetic EHP
      2987 explosive EHP
      Please correct me if i'm wrong.

      Right now my resistances are 32.2 Kinetic 26.6 Thermal and 22 Explosive. I prefer having a little more kinetic resistance and less explosive resistance because more enemies you face will have kinetic weapons instead of explosive. But I can adjust that anytime by using different HRP's and applying resistances to them.
      Military armour is cheaper and keeps the rebuy cost much lower..
      These Are rough estimates
      Military Armour Cost 169,000,000
      Mirrored Armour Cost 399,000,000
      Reactive Armour Cost 443,000,000
      In the end if your resistances are over +20 then your doing good. Yes having resistances closer to 30 is better, but in the end, the in game benefits are negligible.
      In the long run it makes very little difference because , your modules are going to malfunction and die long before your armour gives out, making your ship combat ineffective anyway once your armour has dropped below 30% (on average)
      To me, the lower rebuy, the fact my resistances are still very reasonable, and easily adjusted with HRP's makes Military armour the best choice.
      But hey, thats just my opinion. I know many commanders who are happy to pay out the extra credit for +5 +10 more resistances, and thats cool. I just personally dont see or feel the advantage.

      In the cariolis setups i built i used several MRPs instead of HRPs (had a mix of them) exactly to make modules more durable and i could do that thanks to having good resistances on the armor itself (forgot to mod the HRPs i do have though , now the EHP is ~5k for each resistance, thanks for reminding XD ).

      Honestly, I have purchased another Anaconda as my dedicated Thargoid Killer, as I can utilize 4 large AX weapons in a central location. Until there are class 4 anti-thargoid weapons, the corvette isnt going to fair so well.

      I dont yet. I have been putting together a build using guardian tech as well and testing things out. I am still not 100% sure on how this build will go.. I have been testing Bi-weaves as well, but I might return back to prismatics

    I struggle and debate almost every day whether to get a Corvette to replace my combat 'Conda. Even though I always stick with my decision.. the debate never ends.

      Never ever sell the Anaconda... not for anything. However if you can, get a corvette as well and have both. I am about to head off and by my second Anaconda that I will outfit for thargoid hunting only.

      Indeed. I keep saying to myself that I'll just have a fleet of ships for multipurpose. Instead of a Conda that does all things well, I could have several ships in each roll that performs their role in the best way respectively. But that might be a shit ton of work, perhaps too much. Every one sees the Corvette as an upgrade from the Anaconda. And I guess I don't want to be seen as second best in a combat scenario.

    im about 2 nights grinding away from getting corvette rank.already have a 850 million combat conda which i was going to trade on for the vette but after reading some of these posts i may keep it and just buy the vette outright

      I know its tempting to sell off your anaconda and jump into your Corvette, but I can honestly say, dont do it. If you can, wait and buy the corvette outright. Even if you just swap modules and keep the Anaconda Hull

    bi-weave is much better shield for combat ships..... more MJ for Prismatics mean nothing as long as your SCB don't overcharge

      @Opressor Retrógrado yeah G5 boosters increase the shield a hefty amount. Haven't gotten there yet with Lei yet, not a fan of the gravity on his planet

      Must be you target big vessels like condas and clippers most of the time. I find plasma cannons to be hard to aim myself.

    Hi vindicator jones, i used your rapid fire corvette build from yuor previous video, im currently on ps4 elite dangerous it was working well for me against NPC enemys, but i had problems with other players, so i changed my gimbled rapid fire to turreted focused lasers its alot better for pvp now , btw the rest of your corvette build is verry similar to mine,

      I added focused pulse lasers small and medium turreted the large and huge gimbled , prismatic Shields reinforced and 6 Shield boosters heavy duty got Shield strength at 5338

      Thanks man. A few more questions please. 1) Do the focussed pulses work better 'cos the enemy CMDR is keeping their distance and turrets have a wider firing arc? 2) Have you tried M/C on the large and Huge HP? 3) Have you "B" rated your FSD, Thrusters etc?

      Focused give me a distance of almost 6km , yes turret is good for multiply enemys also u can set it to fire atwill, thrusters is grade 5 dirty drives , fsd is long range i get about 16ly's but my mass is about 2500, hope that helps

      Also to answer about mulit cannons, i did use them for hugh same as vindicator jones, but most players have strong Shields so i went for all pulse lasers all have phased sequence too

    This game looks so great! Is it easy to play as I've heard it's complicated in terms of settings and would a joystick controller be recommended?

      I play Mouse and Keyboard (M&K). The _roll_ is a little crazy with the mouse, so I assigned it to A and D on the keyboard. Additionally I put _right_ and _left_ tracking to Q and E, and up and down elevator to R and F. This way it's also pretty similar to Arma 3 chopper controls.
      I relegated _yaw_ and _pitch_ to mouse movement, but note that _yaw_ movement is pretty limited in most Elite Dangerous ships, so you want to utilise the _roll_ keys liberally in order to control your ship properly.
      The rest is a matter of controlling the rather awkward thruster mechanics. For instance, it stops at 0, so reversing smoothly requires two key-presses. How you set it up is up to taste, but I've made a few short-cuts, and set _full stop_ to X, and whatever key is under Escape for _full steam ahead._ Then C is for that all-important _75% throttle,_ which is really important for _super-cruise_ and often also control of _pitch_ when dogfighting. Lastly I've put Z or whatever is left of Z (or right of Shift) to turn off _Flight Assist._

      I'd say Xbox ONE or Xbox 360 controller is a must, at least for me. This, plus keyboard, mouse and you're completely good to go. Joystick with throttle is next level. Oculus is the final stage.

      LandbeforeTMZ1992 weight is the issue. The vette is made to be more manouverable than the other big Four. The weight would cause some issues with that.

      I own about 33.. so yes :) but there is a limit you can store at each station. I think its 35.. then you have to store ships at other stations.

      I have tried 2 huge efficient beams, and the rest multicanons. I still prefer this build. Huge efficient beams are still power hungry compared to this build, and I seemed to do more damage. But again, I cant stress this enough. Different builds work for different kinds of players. What works best for me, may not translate to other commanders, and vice versa.

    I cannot fathom how one makes such a crazy amount of credits to buy let alone build this ship....I can barely keep 1 - 2 mill in my pocket and I haven't found any star ports either federal navy mission lately...only did one yesterday so I'm a lowly Recuit

      @@Spike00773 I have only been playing for about a year when it came out for the ps4 back in June last year. I have tried a few passenger missions but for me I really don't like the sight seeing mission as it takes so much time hyperspace jumping from system to system. I did one where each location the person wanted to see 3 locations about 30 something light years apart from each other...which was tedious. So I fired up Elite on my gaming laptop to do a bit of bounty hunting lol

      Go to Robigo with the best passenger ship you have and take all the missions to Sothis atmospherics 2 jumps away, you should make at least 2 Million a trip with a small ship in less than 10 minutes

      Abstract Llama hey i would like to ask you why the build in this video is PvE. The only thing i see that is PvE is the discovery scanner and the SRV-bay. Wouldn’t this be almost a pvp build since the rest of the build is combat oriented? I dont see why this build isnt considered pvp and pve. Could you explain it to me?

      mr-ruiler the hull and shields is what makes it pvp. They aren't engineered to have the most shields but they have good resistance. Same thing with the hull. Another big thing is weapons. For a pvp build it would normally be high damage fixed weapons, with only some being ginballed or turreted. While for PvE would normally use all energy weapons or something to save ammo and the increased DPS isn't needed.

    Can you cover what an anaconda build would look like? Currently I have 1 4A multi cannon huge hardpoint, 3 3C Beam lasers and 3 more multi cannons in the other slots. It works on easy missions but when I go for a harder mission I don’t stand a chance. So can anyone help me out?

      On mine I used 1 huge beam, 2 med beams, and 2 small beam turrets (all efficient), along with 3 large MCs (2 incendiary, 1 corrosive). This does require engineering but it absolutely shredded NPCs and deterred a couple player FDLs

      I went with 8 turreted pulse lasers. Efficient on the large and mediums, with phasing sequence. 2 rapid fire small pulse lasers. One with scramble spectrum, one with emissive munitions in case players wanna step in on my fun. Grade 5 reinforced bi-weave shields with thermo block for good resistance, then one shield booster with thermal resistance and thermo block, then the rest of your boosters with heavy duty and thermo block. You will be tough to bring down and missions will be a breeze with no ammo costs. Using a fighter helps tremendously

      @@Expunge6667 tbh an all turret setuo is a very bad idea unless you are some kind of support-thingy in a squad... You'll lose tons of dps, and pulses aren't all that good vs burst... Also, phasing sequence is a bad choicd too, you are basically lowering your dps for no reason. Just my 5 cents, cheers.

      @@DavidUtau it isn't that big a loss, and since most NPCs you will face can have random engineering mods, being able to defeat shielding is important. By the time an enemy anaconda's shields go down, its hull is at 90%. On top of that, most enemies coming up on you will stay close, so there is not enough falloff for turrets to be a bad idea. Since I don't have blind spots, it is good for NPC farming. I make short work of most ships I encounter, so I really don't see all the negatives you claim... on paper, damage loss is bad. In practice, this is a perfectly viable setup that I have been using for a long time.

    Discovery scanner on a Federal corvette? I mean it is personly but why not choose an Anaconda, it makes the Corvette useless.

      Discovery scanner is pretty much mandatory on all my ships. Just makes life a bit easier. I have the anaconda, 2 imperial cutters and type 10 defender. All of them have specific uses. But for outright combat effectiveness, nothing beats my corvette. More maneuverable and harder hitting firepower. Sure the anaconda has better FSD range, but for short range work, my corvette is my go to beast.

      No. That's a good thing. If there's one thing that's ruining Elite is that since the Engineers, there are too many ships that are invulnerable to everything. We need more rock/paper/scissors type gameplay to keep the game interesting. What's the point of a game that has no difficulty?

      Dael Ra, ok thhis is what they should have done : made it so you need to change or add a module to the ships computer that changes the frequency on the fly in which the existing weapons operate at when engaging the thargoids. This is how ridiculous it all is, say you change out your weapons for a possible encounter with the aliens but along the way you encounter a PVP situation, but hey you could always politely ask them if they would let you run back to base to change out your weapons. I agree that the game needed to be spiced up but they've definitely done it in the wrong way.

      Sitting on 2.6 billion now, a lot of commanders have at least 1-2 billion, some commanders I have met have nearly 10 billion! 1.2 billion of my money has come directly from Bounty Hunting over a very long period of time. The rest of the money has come from Long range smuggling, Passenger Missions and other activities. Unfortunately a lot of these have been Nerfed. You can still earn around 30-40 million an hour finding the right missions though. But things will change once the new update has dropped on Tuesday/Wednesday

      856 million is small money. When you get decent rep with factions and have built up a decent fleet. I think I've spent over 5 billions on ships and modding and I still think I'm poor.As mentioned a lot of players have billions in the bank, but we've had the good fortune to see some great money making missions.

      J2013 I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. When I decided to get serious about making money I hit elite in trade in about 9 hours. That's over a billion credits.
      All I did was pick a large faction I agreed with philosophically. (Alioth independents) ran a few passenger missions and sold exploration data until we became allies. Then went to Rominger dock in 78 ursae Majoris and ran 50 mill trade missions concurrently until I got my t9.
      Then I used my t9 to run minerals to Rominger from stf 1776 and narcotics from Wadjuk. Kinda boring but you do feel a bit of adrenaline each time your bank account boosts by 50 mill.

      Nobody uses Corvette in pvp imho. It was designed to either kill thargoids, or to mine diamonds, if your Conda appears too small or your Cutter is too bulky for you. Specialized engineered fighters like FDL or Mamba are gonna shut down any big ship in pvp.

      @@sc0or No tryhard* uses the corvette in pvp. I only play open and when i'm combat focused you'll either see me in the corvette, python or the federal gunship. The cutter is good for mining, the anaconda for jumping, the corvette is good if you want to kick someones teeth in. It was literally "designed" for combat, what people use it for is up to them (If they use it to mine or only kill thargoids why the fuck did they grind the rank for it? I mean, i can kill thargoids easily in my fucking sidewinder and there are way better ships to go mining in.). It's more about the engineering of the ship and the pilot than what ship you're sitting in. I've seen eagles kill FDLs, i've seen belugas absolutely destroy corvettes it's all about the loadout and how you use it. When it comes to my opinion for pvp: FDLs are boring, fly something more challenging. I've flown my FDL for a long time, it's too easy, i'd rather pick fights in my Type 10 than the FDL, atleast i have fun while doing so.
