    Great video as always! The Reinforced/Fast Charge Bi-Weaves are fantastic, however I would recommend another booster set-up. The Thermal Resistant boosters have too many disadvantages. I would suggest 5x Heavy Duty/Super Cap and 3x Resistant Augmented/Thermo Block instead. To compare:
    Set-up from video:
    4585 Absolute
    12,393 Explosive
    10,329 Kinetic
    7,979 Thermal
    My suggestion:
    4793 Absolute (+208)
    16,989 Explosive (+4,586)
    14,159 Kinetic (+3,830)
    7,283 Thermal (-696)
    I think the relatively little gain in thermal resistance is not worth the quite huge drops in the other categories.
    As my bi-weaves never dropped in PvE and they regenerate quite fast I also ditched SCBs and instead got armored PP and HRP/MRP (6k hull with over 50% resist for all), since I play mostly open and had some reverb cascade experiences in the past. For the size 7 i use a 7A Fuel Scoop and the class 7 fighter hangar, as HRP/MRP only goes till class 5 anyway, so why not and its nice for multi-crew. That's just personal preference tho. After all can't do much wrong for PvE in the Corvette :D

    This is a GREAT video. Confirmed three of my FC builds were correct, PvE, PvP and trading. Anyone who knows ED and how confusing engineering can be per loadout. The core foundation is the only thing you need to get right, then every module that's stored is a add on to improve weapons, hull reinforcements, module reinforcements and cargo space and shield banks. Once again a great video I'm sure ppl will follow sound advice. BUT players must try to 'discover' builds by playing and experiencing the game. Not a criticism anywhere to be found.

      Well that's not necessarily a bad thing, depending on what it's running for engineering and your other weapons. For example in a wing a regen beam isn't a bad idea, long range fixed would be good too, but that'd be a bit harder on your distro. Running incendiary on the multis lets them do so much thermal damage it might not be necessary, if you aren't running corrosive on something that'd be the most important add.

      Hello,
      - I definitely think the pve build would work just fine, but you could either switch to a 7A reinforced/hi Cap shield and get rid of the Guardian shield boosters to replace them with modules and hull reinforcement.
      - You don't really need that much of armor in pve, also considering the 450 M credits the reactive cost :) and the big and fast shield you have. But yes sure !
      - No idea about the 7B shield cell bank but i run two 7A( non engineered) and a class 6A( that i never use actually) and it works fine.
      - About NPC's ships loaded with chaff, it is a pain to fight against, that is the reason why i almost immediately switched to fixe class 4 multi cannons (always wanted to try it). I have to say it is kind of disturbing combined with gimballed multi cannons.

      I just discovered, thanks to Ashen fox, HOW to fly with FA off and it is definitely not with the standard settings we are used too ( i've been trying for hours with no succes to say the least). It's just a couple of change in the mouse settings, if you want to give it a try : Go to control, mouse settings, put relative X-axis ON, relative Y-axis ON, Relative mouse rate to maximum, dead zone and power curve to 0.Then go to flight thrust and be sure to set a key for forward and backward thrust. I strongly suggest before all that to equip a small ship ( with shields !:), i used the diamondback scout, and go in a asteroids belt, then set up the controls . It's not easy to get used to but it's a game changer for me.

Im not a fan of rails in pve, but this is a question of taste. I would rather take some packhounds i guess. Also im not sure if so much focus on shields and 4 shield banks is realy required for pve. Half that much focus on shield is totally enough in my opinion. I would rather put a bit more into hull armor. Definetelly i would not sacrifice cruise assist. Its one of the best modules in my opinion. If you know how to abuse it, it can save you up to 40 seconds per each approach. This sums up when you are collecting your missions.

    I currently play on controller, how do you manage the binds for all those cell banks and shield boosters? How does it work if you have multiple boosters on a single fire group and same with cell banks? I find myself fumbling to find my countermeasures like chaff and heatsink in the midsts of combat because I have so many fire groups (group for weapons, group for kill warrant and wake scan, group for chaff and heatsink and one last one for shield cell bank)

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  3 года назад +1

      As I don't play on console/controller that's hard to say, I believe you can bind button combos, or you'd have to use firegroups - if you do use firegroups then if you have 2 banks on the same trigger/group they will fire together, if you have a dedicated button/combo they will fire once per press. For example with a button if I want to "double bank" with a heatsink the process is heat sink, count to 2, cell bank, count to 1, cell bank. If timed right you won't go above 100% heat (or at least not much) and you'll get the energy one after the other, great if you're trying to do it quickly to evade a cascade railgun.

    Wouldn't you do better with a normal shield gen or prismatic gen with those triple guardian shield boosters and 4 banks for the PVE vette rather than a bi-weave? the banks i get, but why the boosters? didn't you say that those boosters run counterproductive to the bi-weaves since it jacks up the time it takes for the shields to regen in another video?

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  3 года назад

      Sure, you can run a prismatic and on mine sometimes I do - you still get a really fast regen from the biweave and your banks will give you far more back than they would on a prismatic. Plus when bounty hunting between fights you wont' be taking fire so you'll actually regen some back even with a few guardian boosters. The issue with the previous build I looked at was ALL guardian boosters and NO cell banks, that's the real issue.

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  3 года назад

      Just like I explain in the video, you run specialized which lowers the heat quite a bit. And sure, you'll get to about 120% or so but that will only give you a little bit of module damage from it, you don't even malfunction on a module until it drops to below 80% integrity and "hot banking" in a build like this won't get you anywhere near that level. You'll see on the PvP build you do run sinks as you're running rapid which is much hotter.

  • @orodruined4526

    Mining lances are not great as they mess up collection efficiency. Ideally you want to be right next to the rock for more efficient collection, which results in less collectors being needed before your mining speed stops being limited by collection speed. 10 limpets should be more than enough to keep up with four medium mining lasers, leaving lots of room for more cargo. If you are building a laser miner, it is foremost a mining ship, so bring 4 medium mining lasers.

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  3 года назад

      Completely agree on both - Lances are objectively better given the range not because you stay at that range but because you can start a bit earlier, as for collector count 10 would be okay but more=better, especially when mining in a wing where you'll get a few extra fragments. I reference the 22 billion I've earned from mining as my source.

    • @orodruined4526
      @orodruined4526 3 года назад

      @@Exigeous For wing mining, perhaps. Starting earlier is not actually a good idea as your limpets will need to play catch-up from the start and this may interfere with establishing a good collector loop. For solo mining, staying at point blank range is simply the most efficient way of mining and optimizing your ship for tons/hour. If we are going to bring up mining incomes, I would like to reference my 45 billion and my old Borann average solo laser mining efficiency of just above 230 tons of LTDs/hour (non-mapped). The controllers of any collectors that are idle are taking up precious module space that could be better used for cargo (which increase your income per time by extending your mining sessions leading to a smaller fraction of your time spent hauling).
