Transformers Armada was the first Transformers show I ever saw when young and I loved it, definitely got nostalgia for it. Feels like for several characters, they really did something different, this Wheeljack is nothing like his other counterparts for instance. One of my favourite characters is Megatron, great voice and as you said, got depth for him. Wheeljack becomes a Con in this version because Megatron found and saved him from burning to death after becoming trapped in a battle despite being a bot. And this Megatron loves fighting Optimus to the point he gets depressed when he dies and is delighted when he is revived. I also liked the main kid trio, the other two not so much. And the friendship Starscream forms with them is good, he's also different to other Starscream, he wants Megatron's respect but then Megatron betrays him, giving Starscream an actaul reason to hate him.
This show alongside Energon and Cybertron is like a holy grail to me. Part of my childhood and the reason I was brought into Transformers in general. I can admit the sequel to Armada, Transformers: Energon, isn't the best out there due to the weird CGI animation, the bad translation it had sometimes, mix ups with Downshift and Cliffjumper's names, character development that lead to character downvelopment (that I like to call it) for characters like Scorponok, Demolishor and Inferno but I'll admit the show had its moments where it did stand out and wasn't too afraid to go dark with characters like Shockblast, a dangerous Decepticon that is a murder machine on two legs, Inferno getting tortured by Megatron and tries to make him change side unwillingly. And that it also were sometimes hand drawn like the battle with Mega Galvatron against Mega Optimus Supreme or...Inferno getting tortured. Cybertron on the other hand has a CGI that look more superior. It may seem a bit dodgy at first but comparing it against Energon's CGI, the characters still look like toys but they got more movement than they did in Energon and it looks a lot more cleaner. Plus that show also allowed Starscream to have his time in the spotlight for finally overthrowing Megatron completely. Not like in G1 where he did manage to do it but it only lasted for a few seconds.
yeah youre right. the energon cartoon had a bad animation but the concept they have was interesting . the dreamwave comics version of energon was great , i wished it hadn't been cancelled
i kind of feel like Energon threw what armada made out of the window, since Starscream is back to life, and Megatron is back. The plot is interesting and had some potential. Completely seconded. As someone who grew up with Energon, I'll admit that it is definitely the weakest of the trilogy. Though I thought some of the story was actually pretty enjoyable...and some scenes that were DRAWN were actually really good, as they matched the animation quality in Armada's final episode. Most of the toys for both Armada and Energon were pretty poor, unfortunately.
@@joaolucasnascimentoleite2831 Ooh yeah, those comics were so cool, and surprisingly dark sometimes. I remember one issue where Megatron lead an army of terrorcons to steal a mountain's worth of Energon and utterly wiped the floor with the Autobots / Omnicons defending it.

Micron Legend is seriously worth a watch, going beyond the original. Easily top 3 Transformers series if we're including that one (other two being Prime and Beast Wars for me). Starscream's death in Japanese is crazy for whats effectively a kids show. Wheeljack, Hot Shot, and Sideways were all stellar, its the one time in a Transformers series you feel like the sides of the war are barely managing to keep themselves from falling apart as teams.
I really like the pre earth mode design of optimus before he obtained his truck mode in armada. Anyone think there should be a red series figure of that design? It doesn’t transform anyways so it wouldn’t be out of place in the red series.
This is the show that got me into transformers. Shame it wasn’t beloved. I remember it blew my mind as a kid when Optimus had a brother I wanted that toy so bad
I remember that after episode 39 the show went on a brake In finland and the Last episodes came a year later it was probably because they started to sell energon toys 2004 and they wanted to show energon instead
Transformers Armada does get good…… you just have to wait 4 seasons for it to do so. The final arc of the show is honestly so good, that it makes the rest of the show look so much worse by comparison. Sadly though, I can’t really speak highly of it. I never really felt that Transformers Cybertron was a separate universe. There were many inconsistencies between Transformers Armada, Energon and Cybtertron.
@@RoadRustle There were more proper consistencies between Armada and Energon then there was with Cybertron. In Japan, Cybertron or Galaxy Force as it was called, was a different universe from Armada and Energon.
Ehhh Japanese Version does fix an extremely high amount of these issues, seeing as The Dub and Animation were rushed for American audiences first. These issues become even bigger in Transformers Energon especially, as the script crumbles further, and important parts of the animation simply don’t exist in the English part. The Japanese Versions of the Unicron trilogy are overall just a smoother experience due to not being rushed.
First off, I enjoyed your video, good job. Second, I was making a video like this on another channel of mine, and Hasbro keeps copyright claiming part of it. Do you know if I could just claim fair use since it’s a Comodin Cam-esque breakdown of the plot with minimal in-show audio?
Starscream a "complete doofus"? But Armada Starscream is one of the biggest fan favorite characters! And has been widely praised in the fandom for being the BEST written version of Starscream up until the War for Cybertron Trilogy Starscream came along. It was one of the rare few times where he wasn't a sniveling one dimensional character that wanted to usurp megatron. But then they COMPLETELY fucked him up and did his character dirty in Energon.
Armada is a really good Transformers show with some decent development in story and characters as the show goes on. It's a shame it gets lumped in with Energon and Cybertron which taint it's image.
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer The terrible animation. Stories that drag on and on and on far too long. How many episodes of transformers racing on that planet do we need! Not particularly good writing. @@darkwoods1954 the animation is not terrible, it's fluid and probably better than a lot of transformer media has to offer in terms of 3d and I don't get the dragging on for too long, 3 whole arcs are started while another is going on and resolved in 22 episodes with the 4th starting in that time as well, the racing was interlaced with the jungle planet arc as well, that is a lot of story to go through in only 22 episodes. the story has focus on each arc in order however interlaced with scenes of the other arcs that started happening, counting the episodes in terms of which one got main focus, Velocitron only lasted 6 episodes of focus with a fair amount of jungle planet interlaced in there. people keep bringing this same argument up but every rewatch I've done has shown that no, that isn't the case at all to the point I have actually counted the episodes and arcs. I swear the only reason people bash Cybertron is because everyone wants to lump japanese CG in with each other making them hate Cybertron as much as Energon on a narrow minded belief it's just as bad

I have always really liked armada to be honest
Here is a game take a shot every time they say minicom in this show
My favourite transformers series
I never watched armada or cybertron but Energon is one of my favorite versions of transformers
Dude this some good editing
Thanks
Hotshot was always my favourite armada character
I agree with your assessment but to me it will always be number 1 as I grew up with it and it introduced me to transformers.
The kids were the only part I hated. Especially Fred and Carlos. Alexis gets a pass for being Starscreams friend.
I really like the pre earth mode design of optimus before he obtained his truck mode in armada. Anyone think there should be a red series figure of that design? It doesn’t transform anyways so it wouldn’t be out of place in the red series.
I'm glad I watched Armada and Cybertron, I had to get that overhyped Prime fanbase out of my head for once.
Armada is the best of the Unicron Trilogy
Our of the unicron trilogy, transformers heroes of goals and transformers super-cross would've succeeded too well but both got cancelled
This video needs more views tho. I love armada so much.
“And the humans are cool too” Until Energon came along and annoyed us all with Kicker.😂
Kicker: ‘Aw come on, gimme a break would ya?’ No.27
At least Misha was the only human that is sane
“The first reboot of the millennium”
Robots in disguise 2001
First heavy duty reboot. RID 2001 was a filler series.
Actually for me things began to get interesting with scavenger arrival
Nostalgia 🎉
The show was not well recieved but the game is a jem work.
Also could you make a video on prime
Working on it
The armada game on ps2 was super fun tidal wave boss was gigantic borderline Titan level that was a great game until wfc/foc came
Incredible work, I liked it.
what font did you use in the video? I could use it...
Transformers Armada does get good…… you just have to wait 4 seasons for it to do so. The final arc of the show is honestly so good, that it makes the rest of the show look so much worse by comparison. Sadly though, I can’t really speak highly of it. I never grew up with the show nor did I watch it as a kid. So I have no nostalgia goggles coloring my opinion when I say that the final arc of this series is honestly the best part of the whole thing
"megatron is the only one written well"
THIS LINE ALONE proves you literally didn't watch it AT ALL
He was well written, but he wasn't the only one.
Another amazing video.
@Markscraper I’m scared for RUclips creators right now. This whole FTC, COPPA thing has got me worried for this channel. I love your content and the amount of work that goes into your videos, but now because of COPPA I won’t be able to comment on these videos. I won’t be able to talk to a creator that I enjoy. When this comes to pass you’ll be forced to be kid channel, no more commenting or subscriber notifications. I won’t be told that you have a new videos out. And if you don’t comply to being kid friendly you’ll be fined up to 42,000 dollars a video. And when you do comply you only get 10% of what that videos revenue from what that video was originally Worth. Are you still going to be around when this rapture happens, I don’t know. Now I’m scared for the whole TF Community. Because all were seen as, is a kid thing.
Great video again!
Transformers: Armada at least in my opinion had an awesome ass Soundtrack as well.
I'm not gonna lie. Peter Cullen is an amazing voice actor but i personally enjoy Garry chalk as primes voice instead.
I love both; Garry Chalk has a very commanding, military general voice while Peter Cullen has a much softer, fatherly voice.
@@RoadRustle too bad that part of Cullen’s voice isn’t used much anymore, he just seems like a mythical figure no one could ever stand equally with
cried when Starscream died
I never really felt that Transformers Cybertron was a separate universe. There were many inconsistencies between Transformers Armada, Energon and Cybtertron.
Sure, but Cybertron is altogether different in so many ways while Armada -> Energon was more just inconsistencies and continuity errors
John Malkovich? Is that you?
Yo markscaper just your channel keep up your work
Thank you :)
First off, I enjoyed your video, good job. Second, I was making a video like this on another channel of mine, and Hasbro keeps copyright claiming part of it. Do you know if I could just claim fair use since it’s a Comodin Cam-esque breakdown of the plot with minimal in-show audio?
Very nice 👌
Starscream a "complete doofus"? But Armada Starscream is one of the biggest fan favorite characters! And has been widely praised in the fandom for being the BEST written version of Starscream up until the War for Cybertron Trilogy Starscream came along. It was one of the rare few times where he wasn't a sniveling one dimensional character that wanted to usurp megatron. But then they COMPLETELY fucked him up and did his character dirty in Energon.
i highly recommend finishing the video
@@RoadRustle I did.
@@RoadRustle Honestly, I think Armada should have gotten 1 or 2 more seasons....
Armada is a really good Transformers show with some decent development in story and characters as the show goes on. It's a shame it gets lumped in with Energon and Cybertron which taint it's image.
Cybertron isn’t even terrible, I don’t get where people get this idea
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer From watching it.
@@darkwoods1954 how then, explain how
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer The terrible animation. Stories that drag on and on and on far too long. How many episodes of transformers racing on that planet do we need! Not particularly good writing. That's just off the top of my head. I haven't watched the show in a good ten years or more and can't face re-watching it just to write down every bad thing about it.
My favorite part of the show is hot shot
fun fact: "armada" in Czech means army.
Wheeljack's story arc made no sense
@@RoadRustle Sure?
This was great are you gonna review Energon and Cybertron too?
Thanks and yep.
how would you feel about a transformers series in a similar style to star wars the clone wars
I’d love it
the real enderay but isn’t that TFP?
@@RoadRustle Should review Dreamwave's comics (War Within & Micromasters are my favorites). They say Furman can sense whenever somebody's mentioning Pat Lee's shitty management skills. :P
Omega Prime or Jet Optimus?
Aside of g1 beast machines I like it the best when the Japanese are helming the series
How most Indians got introduced to transformers.
Nice video this show is great but not as good as prime or animated
I just call Hot Shot Bumblebee. Wasn't this show just one really long Season?
Technically yes.
So when you talk about different seasons, is that more like different story arcs within the series?
@@legoawcstopmotioner9435 There is a dividing point between each set of 13 episodes.
Oh okay. I gotcha.
Oh and also are you gonna be reviewing energon and cybertron
gojira fan05 yep
Cool
