@@dodge1515 then your exposure is shallow, there’s much more out there than some spoiled tyrant who sucks at dealing with adversity he can’t just kill Megatron takes more after Super Robot villains just like the rest of the unicron trilogy especially the Brave Series which 2000’s transformers was heavily saturated in
Definitly my favorite TV-Incarnation. They just nailed his prescense, his personality, his actions, his voiceacting. You honestly could only complain if he wasnt your taste or if you were biased. The only Megatron I like more is the IDW incarnation, from a character perspective. Animated definitly takes the cake as best TF-Villain in my eyes.
This is THE best Megatron. HE SPENT A SEASON AS A DAMAGED HEAD AND WAS A THREAT TO ALL THE HEROES. When he was repaired, he was almost unable to be resisted.
I kinda felt sorry for him in the first season. When he revealed himself to Mr. Sumdac, it started with Mr. Sumdac wondering why he fed the information into the computer, saying: "Everyone knows that..." , Megatron was like: "But I did not..." , to which Mr. Sumdac said: "Well, everyone but you..." Do you know how frustrating it is, to be called an idiot, just for being uninformed?! When Megatron repaired the Dino Bots for Sumdac, he upgraded them too. You could argue that he did that to bait Mr. Sumdac, but Mr. Sumdac didn't bat an eye about the upgrades, and that must have hurt Megatron's feelings. He is a proud Decepticon, he needs his fair share of compliments! And then there is Mr. Sumdac ALWAYS glancing over every single fucking meltdown Megatron is having. Really. He gets reckless, and he freaks out, in front of Mr. Sumdac. I really hoped it happened off screen, but Mr. Sumdac should have told Megatron: "Megatron, you seem to have a short fuse... are you bipolar?" This would have also annoyed the frag out of Megatron, but it would be an explanation on why Mr. Sumdac was so bloody naive with Megatron. And then there's also the fact that Mr. Sumdac got rich and famous off gutting and studying Megatron's head. And Megatron seemed a little upset and annoyed when Mr. Sumdac retrieved the broken body of Megatron, commented on it's broken condition, and Meg was like: "My body can take more than this pathethic little planet can dish out..." He is usually tactical, but he sounded so damn Tsundere to me in this moment.
He's one of the few TFA characters that scared me as a kid. He's not a typical kids cartoon villan, he actually seems like an actual threat, like you actually think he'd be able to murder the protagonists.
@@justsomewritingfan2202 and this megatron was voice by cory burton who voiced braniac innthe old superman cartoon yeah he also voiced reverend kain in polter guest 3 if you ever knew that fact
This Megatron displays many traits of a competent (and by extension dangerous) leader. He only speaks when he feels it necessary, giving out only as much information as necessary. He does not need to raise his voice or yelling to get the attention of his troops. He generally only acts when it is beneficial to him and his goals - even, for the most part, his grudge with Prime was to simply remove an annoying (and even insulting) threat to his power. He even removes those that would interfere with his plans before they can continue to do so (although Starscream was lucky to have a certain something to save him). His power is never REALLY undermined, with the show constantly displaying him with both physical prowess and (when he was left alive as only a head) strategic mind and ruthless cunning. All these things make him a GENUINE threat throughout the series, and I love it. I have another favourite Megatron, but this incarnation is a close second.
Megatron will always be my favourite, but Corey Burton's Megs? Man spends the entire first season as a giant paperweight, yet *stays* a threat and continues to level-up on the danger scale. 10/10 Banger design too.
The first season must have been traumatic for Meg. First, he gets an abrupt amputation before he reaches his ship. Then he's being torn apart by gravity. Then he wakes up and finds out he's just a giant paperweight. Imagine waking up as just a head. That already induced a giant panic attack in Meg. Oh, and then he probably felt violated as hell when he found out that Sumdac got rich off Gutting Meg. Idk how his psyche could take this much bullshit without Animated Megatron literally turning into Galvatron. And the fact that he was always prepared for Starscream's petty attacks, and that he even set out a bounty on Starscream during the third Season showed me that Megatron probably suffers from some kind of PTSD from the first Season. And the fact that he had fun terrorizing Mr. Sumdac during the second Season.
Animated Megatron is THE dominating force in Transformers Animated. Nobody could be considered an equal or threat to him, not Optimus, not Starscream. Other versions of Megatron get a bit obsessed with Optimus, and there's usually a bit to write about each of their relationships with their Starscream, but Animated Megatron brushes everything off. Starscream and Optimus are no more than insects to him. He doesn't even acknowledge Optimus' existence until Optimus shows up swinging the Magnus Hammer. You're very right that there's a cold elegance to this Megatron.
Easily one of my favorite Megatron. You see him as a freedom fighter that struggle against "Autobot tyranny" like Robin Hood but evil, and plus what other Megatrons have fail is kill Starscream on his first betrayal. Here's hoping the Nickelodeon's Transformers we see a similar Megatron to Animated Megatron.
the real villain in Animated was the Autobot Council. They're the ones who banished the Decepticons to the rims of the galaxy for losing a war. Then the Autobot council altered the history lessons, to portray the Decepticons, ALL of them, as sparkless monsters that eat protoforms for breakfast. Blackarachnia stated why the Decepticons are better than the Autobot Council. If Blackarachnia had gotten back to Cybertron, she would have been dissected by a mad scientist and treated as a monster. What did Megatron do? He just accepted her in his squad. He didn't seem like he wanted to dissect her. Tho, the other Decepticons bullied Blackarachnia for her looks, Megatron was mature enough to look past her mold, and just see: "Hm. She fights well. She's got brains. She can be in my squad."
And what most other incarnations also fail at is at remaining calm around idiots. Animated Megatron handles Lugnut and Blitzwing with such grace, that these two idiots look somewhat smart to the Autobots.
What I love about Animated Megs most is just how manipulative he can be. How he manipulated the Professor, and particularly how he did so with the Constructibots/cons. While the Autobots treated them as outcasts and sent them off because they misbehaved, Megatron allowed them into his secret lair, gave them drinks, and treated them like any other Decepticon. Had they not befriended Bulkhead, they likely would be about as loyal to Megs as Lugnut. Heck, if Lugnut brought that garbage bot back to Megs (and Megs found some way the idiot could be useful), Megs likely would have done the same.
The Animated Megatron is the Megatron I want to see in the new live action reboot. That feeling of anger, but he's always in control; using his anger as a weapon but not allowing it to control him. I also want him to be an absolute powerhouse who answers to absolutely nobody.
In a Crossover between several Megatron AUs, Animated is gonna be the gloomy bastard that gets the job done. Well, Cyberverse Meg is also a powerhouse who's getting the job done, he is just a Joker who gets the job done. So even tho Animated Megatron is gloomy af, and Cyberverse Megatron jokes at everything and roasts everything, they'd still get along in a way, because they're both badass powerhouses who get the job done. I just wonder what'd happen if a Megatron AU was constantly nicknaming Animated Megatron Gloomy. "Hey Gloomy! You're so goth, your shadow has a shadow!"
I love the part when his eye twitched when Lugnut is complimenting his own master, he's getting tired of his BS everytime, he should've punished him for some privacy
He knows better than losing someone this valueable. Lugnut is dumb, and annoying, but he's loyal and he's trying hard. Just giving Lugnut something to do is a way better option than telling that idiot to scram.
@@chey6073 Idk. And maybe Megatron didn't punish Lugnut yet because: "He's a tryhard. That idiot won't understand why the hell I'm punishing him. Punishment only has a point if the punished Con KNOWS why he's punished."
@@frederickgrandison3609 Me too. It's so funny how Blitzwing always yells at Lugnut for being so clumsy. And it's always funny how Lugnut yells at Blitzwing for being childish. I love the dumb but mature, and smart but childish dynamic.
And he's so damn patient with Blitzwing and Lugnut. He never yells at an idiot for being stupid. And when in "A bridge too close" something doesn't work right, and Lugnut starts accusing Sumdac of sabotage, Megatron is like: "That's not sabotage, we just need another expert." , and solves the problem instead of accusing random people of shit.
On the subject of Corey Burton's voice for Megatron: early leaks for Animated described Megatron as being a lot like Scar from The Lion King. I can definitely see where that description comes from, especially in the scene where Megatron is convincing the Constructicons to join his side. Corey's voice is actually a perfect one to emulate when voicing Megatron, specifically if said Megatron has more nuance to him like in IDW.
i could imagine in a future series were in the begining of the war he was more like the warmonger gladiator who is more shoot ask later trought flashbacks, and later it would show how he becomes more like his animated version and being more cold and tactical.
@@shockwave487 Yeah i check the new series, it has some cool stuff but i think some stuff in the new series is either too slow and introducing too many sub plots to keep up and they keep reusing and introducing certain elements too soon like the combiners , titans, artifacts of the 13 and stuff the old idw had to work to earn its lore . They had to work their story properly they had to lay a foundation and work on that the new series just introduces then all right away.
Well the Wiki says that he overthrew Megazarak in order to become the leader. But it would be cool to see Megazarak arguing with the now Megatron, because Megatron was that "shoot now, ask questions later" Gladiator, which didn't really sit well with Megazarak. So, when Megazarak was about to kill Megatron, because he got so annoyed with the Gladiator's attitude, he got killed. Probably old age made him worse at fighting. Heck, the Megatron we see in the educational video that Optimus watched at the very beginning of the show, was probably not even Megatron, but Megazarak.
in the flashbacks, the character development could be shown through drawing his eyes differently. His eyes could be almond shaped in the flashbacks, to resemble that he had an entirely different character when he just became leader of the Decepticons, and the later a flashback happened, the straighter the slope on the eyes becomes, until they turn into the triangles we see in the show. Just something to underline character development.
I actuslly think the pre-earth mode was awesome, it blended the best of both, but i love the Earth Mode more, and i do like the well-spoken, shakesperian take on the character, and this one actually had the balls to kill the screamer, which defenitely puts him a leap above
Tbh I doubt Ultra Magnus would last long. Starscream knocked him out with one blast yet couldn’t even do much to Megatron. Even with all the different approaches Starscream took, Megatron seemed always ready.
@@fightingmedialounge519 That makes little sense given how well lesser Deceps like Screamer and Shockwave did to him. It's more likely due to Ultra Magnus's reputation from the past that Megs played it safe. From what we saw on UM's performance compared to the feats Megs pulled off, Megs would win.
@@Darthvegeta8000 except those were suprise attacks, and again the only reason optimus could keep up with megatron was because using ultra magnuses weapon. So it would stand to reason the person who has more experience with that weapon would do far better.
I loved how his cybertronian form was ALWAYS cast in shadow. You never really got a good look at it. It made him look more intimidating and scary, which Megatron was always intended to be. And in some other shots, his protruding helmet would cover his mouth in some angles, or the shadows would only show his silhouette and eyes. I just loved how imposing they made him. The animated show had some weird character designs, but Animated Cybertronian Megatron still remains my favorite look for the character
Animated was very well done...after season 1. No one liked the human villains vs. Autobots. Then it ramped up. One thing I LOVED was almost every Decepticon is a brute, outclassing every Autobot. The narrative made sense. The eager Optimus wasn't ready for the Decepticon threat. A calculated, unfeeling Megatron. It was a great series. Wish we got season 4.
I grew up with 3 versions of Megatron since I was a kid. The original G1 Megatron, Movie Megatron and Animated Megatron. Out of all the 3, Animated Megatron is my favourite, his aircraft vehicle, how terrifying he is, everything I really love as a child back then. Imagine if he actually fought Ultra Magnus, that would be awesome.
One of the versions of Megatron's I like are G1 Unicron trilogy robots in Disguise 2001 and the last one is actually called Transformers Prime version are the best
I love how the Decepticons in the animated series are actually OP and an actual threat, especially Megatron. The animated series is one of the reasons why I prefer the Decepticons over the Autobots.
This is perhaps the best version of Megatron I've seen. He's cold, ruthless, very terrifying to look at, and he presented a huge challenge the show was building toward. Without him, we wouldn't have Prime Megatron who was, in many ways, like this one but used differently. And we also wouldn't have Cyberverse Megatron doing like Animated and killing Screamer
Oh boy, in a crossover, Animated and Cyberverse Megatron would get along SO well. They both share the same opinion about Starscream, and they're both badass bastards who get the slagging job done. The difference between these two may be that Animated Megatron is a gloomy bastard who never laughs, he only smirks when he's statisfied with something, while Cyberverse Megatron is a full on Joker, but more intelligent, and more pragmatic, but aside from these differences, they'd get along SO well! Some Cybertronian: obviously bullshitting these two Megatrons and then saying: "Primus is my witness!" Cyberverse Megatron: "Well, my witness is Gloomy right here!" , pointing at Animated Megatron, who is narrowing his eyes in annoyance at this nickname, "and HE, is still ALIVE!"
_This_ is the Megatron I grew up with, and to be honest it kind of messed with my expectations for other versions of Megatron in the past and future. I could never really take Prime Megatron seriously when TFP first came out because he lacked that sauve commanding presence, he was kind of just this loud, brash, abusive jerk. Animated Megatron is a Megatron that could win people over with words just as much as he can with action, and I think that kind of character would be perfect for modern TF that frames Megatron as somebody who's as much of a poet as he is a warlord.
Yeah. Despite his roots as a miner and laborer of Cybertron's lower class, Megatron of Tarn is an intellectual, a philosopher, a poet. His early writings are actually what inspired Optimus to become the person he is today.
And brains. He's the only one smart enough to kill Starscream and just use the Autobots as a punching bag next time he fights them, instead of keeping that traitor as a punching bag around.
Prime megatron: kills random vehicons for one mistake, and kills 10 predacon babies in fear of them retailating, but doesn’t kill starscream after he tried to terminate him. Animated megatron: terminates starscream after the first murder attept and takes advantage and belives in the earth created bots, such as soundwave, the constructicons, and the Dinobots. Not to mention is actually proactive
This Megatron is kinda unique due to Animated's Optimus Prime the two of them in every iteration are supposed to be foils for each other Optimus here is supposed to be the unconfident and unsure of his ability to lead at the beginning and grow into a great leader so by contrast Megatron starts suave and commanding eventually descending into rage and obsession for beating Optimus.
He and Prime are honestly some of the best versions of the character. They both finally get the threat that he's supposed to have, as the leader of the entire villain faction. Not to mention, it's one of the best alt modes he's ever had for an earth mode
I imagine that Megatron was probably even more pissed when Grimlock got to his name. He's paralyzed, he can't move, the only guy who could lead to his repair lacks the materials to repair Meg, Meg has to be friendly with the guy who violated him by getting rich off gutting him, and here Grimlock gets to his name with a phrase from Megatron. Idk for Meg, but it would have pissed me off.
I've been seeing alot of Animated throwbacks, either is youtube is doing a damn good job with recommendations or Hasbro is going to have something in mind for animated.
I've heard Hasbro say in person at one of their Transformers panels that a season four revival of Animated may still be possible, and their R.E.D line could have potential for some Animated figures too.
I watched the constructicons episode recently and it really showcases his cunning. I love this incarnation hands down my favourite! Large powerful clever and a constant threat . A treat to watch through and through.
Considering Megatron became leader of the Decepticons in this continuity by overthrowing the founder, Megazarak, he probably saw a bit of himself in Starscream, albeit an inferior version. After all, if the leader of Decepticons can't stave off treachery, they obviously weren't fit to lead. From Megatron's point of view, if you're going to make a power grab, you'd better make it count, because treachery requires no mistakes.
Yeah; you really see it in his line when Starscream is first resurrected and tries ambushing him. "Is that the best you could do Starscream? And to think you actually believed you could take over as Leader of the Decepticons. You couldn't lead a parade." He's not just pissed that Starscream tried to ambush and kill him, he's also pissed that his method was so absolutely terrible.
Animated Megatron's design was inspired to Super Megatron, you know the Galvatron that was buried beneath the iceberg and Dark Nova later revived and reborn him as "Super Megatron".
Interestingly he’s the 2nd one to do that, Cybertron Megatron also was a triple changer based on super Megatron as the final part of UT Megatron’s journey from Megatron to Galvatron to Super Megatron
I could listen to his voice all day. I wouldn't mind being a Decepticon in Animated, because his voice is so pleasant to listen to. Sure, terrifying, but so smooth and deep... I could listen to it...
The first version of Megatron that I was introduced to, as a little girl, was the Cybertron (Unicron Trilogy) version of Megatron. To me, in that series, Megatron was a classic villain from the Saturday morning cartoons. Fun to watch, but you still needed to remember that he posed a threat to the good guys. But… this version of Megatron? From Animated? This was the first Megatron to truly terrify me as a kid.
This was the Megatron I basically grew up with. I grew up in the early 2000's and I shared my mom's love of Transformer's (even though she grew up the OG Megatron from the '80's, he was still a good villain for your typical 1980's cartoon). But this is was the incarnation of Megatron that sparked the love for Transformers for me and I'd watch it purely to see Megatron be awesome. There's so much that set TFA! Megatron from his other incarnations like Prime, Armada, Etc. I don't all about what his character is like in Armada, but from what little I saw of him (which, admittedly, is not much save for a few small clips.), he's more or less the reluctant father figure for the Decepticons. In Prime, he was more of a brutish gladiator hellbent on having the raw power to just raise an army. This version of Megatron though? He really embraces the Shakespeare-esque qualities that you'd typically see. The mere fact that he sees about 99.99% of Autobots inferior to him (the 00.01% being Ultra Magnus, aka the ONLY AUTOBOT he has ever feared (until Optimus took up Ultra's mantle), and probably for good reason.), just shows how much of a mechanical BEAST this iteration is. He's SCARY intelligent, patient, resourceful, manipulative, poetic, powerful, and you can tell that he's well-spoken and knows how to lead a group so dysfunctional as this version of the Decepticons. It's really no surprise that he's had such a big fanbase as a character, myself included in that bunch. While I liked his Cybertron look, I didn't really grow attached to it until I rewatched the series and we barely saw much of it. When I did rewatch it, I went: "Oh. That look is actually pretty cool.", but his Earth look is the one we always got used to seeing cuz we spent so much time with that look. I liked the callback with the classic look of his canon and his helicopter look is really cool and dynamic. And I think we can all agree that Coery Burton just SELLS Megatron's voice. He can be soft-spoken at times and probably has the ability to be gentle when he chooses to be and Coery absolutely delivers this with his lines. I would kill to see a series with this Megatron again and nothing can change my mind. While Prime's Megatron was my favorite visually, Animated Megatron will always hold a special place in my heart character-wise.
Now that i think about it, this is the scariest Megatron. In every other version, we always had Optimus to match Megatron. The yin and yang. But here, Optimus is young. He's not on Megatron's level, but by the end of the series, Optimus worked his way up to and maybe beyond Megatron's level
I think being able to understand where this version of Megatron is coming from, and respect him as a competent leader, really added so much to my enjoyment of TFA. The conflict felt real, and the stakes felt high, instead of meaningless. There were consequences, serious ones, for the actions or inactions of the major characters. To see the characters themselves take their situations seriously, especially to see Megatron taking leadership of the Decepticons seriously, was awesome. * casually swirls twisted oil barrel wine glass *
I like how Megatron in transformers animated in the first episode he looks like the live action Megatron from the Micheal Bay films but when he gets his new body he becomes the familiar Megatron from the G1 cartoon.
This version of Megatron was handled by the same people who created Slade from Teen Titans, so I’m not surprised that they were able to handle him the same way
I'm reading a TFP Shattered Glass fan comic, and despite it being a Prime universe, I can't really imagine "good" Megatron sound like his "canon" self. The raspiness in his voice just doesn't fit the kind and caring demeanor. Who knows, maybe the canon Megs is that raspy because he yells too much? Anyway, while reading the comic, I kinda found myself imagining him with the voice of TFA Megatron. Still very much commanding, but genuine and trustworthy enough to believe him. I also love Animated Megs' Cybertronian design, because it looks similar to the Bayverse and Prime Megatron designs, which are my favourites.
Any Megatron that can appear frightening without raising their voice is a good Megatron. Something I found very lacking in all the cartoon Megatrons that came after this.
I did not realize it until I was rewatching Blitzwing moments, but Lugnut and Blitzwing are comic relief. Yeah no shit they are hilarious, but they are also threatening. When they show up it is actually a mystery of how the Autobots will handle them this time. As best I can remember the Autobots only actually beat them 4 times. 1. With the help of Omega Supreme's weapons (They won't fall for the same trick twice) 2. Exploiting very specific weaknesses (Again won't work twice) which they easily got back up from 3. Blurr slapping stasis cuffs on them (To be fair who can prepare for that) 4. Optimus tricking them with the reverse freezing trap These were all tricks and traps. Actually the only Decepticon that was ever defeated legit was Megatron in the finale.
I've been watching IDW stuff on here recently, and whenever I'm watching things where someone isn't dubbing the comics I've been using Animated Megatron's voice in my head. The VA for Megs in Animated was amazing. Edit: Wait, people didn't like Megatron's Cybertronian mode and the body he had before he was rebuilt? I thought he looked badass, I've always been a bit upset that the only figure we ever got of that was an Optimus vs Megatron 2 pack, and that from what I've seen it wasn't that good a figure.
Each megatron has something special about them G1: the first BW: the most cunning RiD: the most deranged Unicron: the most tenacious Animated: the best orator Aligned: the most cruel IDW: the most developed
No, The Animated one is the most Cunning. Since BW Megatron is not Megatron. Megatron is his name sake. And Animated Megs plans are the most affective one with a long shot.
I originally thought frank welker was the best Megatron, don’t get me wrong frank welkers still the best but, there’s just something so special about Corey burtons Megatron
Then allow me the opportunity to gift you another perspective. This quote is from Winston Churchill: "Do not wish health and wealth, but wish good luck, because on the Titanic everyone was rich and healthy, and only a few were lucky!".
When it comes to the toy figures of this line, they have simple transformations (not complaining, just stating), including Megatron and he's a Leader Class. Ultra Magnus is also Leader Class, but his transformation is more complex than Megatron's.
I love how Corey Burton original voice of Shockwave in G1 and Transformers: Animated, Spike Witwicky in G1 and Transformers: Animated, Sunstreaker, Brawn in G1 and Transformers: Animated, Dion, Skuxxoid, Wide Load, Vector Sigma, Alpha Trion (On Episode 43 War Dawn), Ratchet in Transformers: Animated, Ironhide in Transformers: Animated and Cyrus "The Colossus" Rhodes in Transformers: Animated where he maze his voice was deep with British Accent.
It was similar with how Ron Perlman voices the villain, which in my opinion is very similar to the Joker but is just different from the Joker, the Mentally Ill Patient villain who has humorous moments but he takes it seriously, making him a Pure Evil Villain or Pure Evil in Batman: The Animated Series with Grant Walker as the character. who is similar to Walt Disney who created a theme park made famous the cause of the emergence of Mr. Freeze, his name is Slade, one of the first Pure Evil villains whose fighting moments don't exist and he is very serious based on his DC comic counterpart Deathstroke the Terminator, even though Deathstroke is originally a Ruthless Assassins but he still has a good side where he is friends with Bill Wintergreen and also cares about his son Rose Wilson aka Ravager even though he is very rude and cruel to his son and feels disgusted by anyone who is worse than him, in this version he is an Adaptational Villainy, he embraces several villains to defeat the Titans and rule the city of Jump. He was the inspiration for King Sombra from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic where both of them are equally cruel and like to torture their victims psychologically, he is also accompanied by his servant Wintergreen who looks like Alfred Pennyworth and at the end he angrily hits his hand until his coffee glass shatters and then Wintergreen repairs it and gives it to him, Slade swears his plan will work and the Titans will pay. He also looks more like Ra's al-Ghul, a terrorist mastermind, he tries to recruit members of Batman's family (only Robin, not Batman) to be his successor, and he uses supernatural means to cheat death (His Deal) in Teen Titans 2003

Yeah, easily the coolest Megatron in my opinion. Corey Burton did a fantastic job making him sound menacing, he’s much more cool and collected than all the other Megs incarnations, he’s the biggest bada## of all the versions in battle and he was the *ONLY* Megatron to actually take Starscream out right off the bat! Prime Megatron was awesome too, but this is just the absolute coolest Megatron we’ve ever seen in a show.
I think the only times he reminds me of other Megatron's is when he's desperate and he throws out logic for vendetta. Other Megatron's hate Optimus to the point of self sabotage. This Megatron's so superior that he doesn't acknowledge him until Optimus finally broke that image of himself.
From what I remember of Animated, this Megatron didn't have a lot of screen time; but what he did have was amazing. I just didn't have the energy to sit through an entire Season and a bits worth of show, to see him finally get a body. It's the same with TFP. We know they're bringing him back; it's just a case of when the writes decided now they should do it.
"And to think you actually believed you could take over as leader of the Decepticons. You couldn't lead a parade."
G1 Megatron: "A parade?! Seriously?! That fool couldn't even lead a pack of Androids to a picknic!"

In animated he was a threat, not an obstacle unlike other characters or in other shows
If Prime Megatron was a wall, and Beast Wars Megatron was a spear, then Animated Megatron is a wall, covered in spears.

Megatron has been a lot of different things. A miner, a writer, a poet, a revolutionary, a conqueror, a tyrant....
Banger design too.
Megatron in Prime had some small Aspects of the Shakespeare style, but animated has a forked Silver Tongue, he puts the Deception in Decepticon

Just check IDW's comic reboot. It's similar to what you're saying, but there's a slow start to it, which obviously makes sense.
Since Megatron was a bit weary of Ultra Magnus, I'm curious to see how Megatron would do in a fight against him.
Tbh I doubt Ultra Magnus would last long. Starscream knocked him out with one blast yet couldn’t even do much to Megatron. Even with all the different approaches Starscream took, Megatron seemed always ready.
@@basedpota That’d make sense. It’s a usual mistake.

Animated Megatron was an event.
I loved how his cybertronian form was ALWAYS cast in shadow. You never really got a good look at it. It made him look more intimidating and scary, which Megatron was always intended to be. Is that because most autobots are ground based vehicles and most decepticons are aerial based or-?
Animated was very well done...after season 1. No one liked the human villains vs. Autobots.
Then it ramped up. One thing I LOVED was almost every Decepticon is a brute, outclassing every Autobot. The narrative made sense.
The eager Optimus wasn't ready for the Decepticon threat. A calculated, unfeeling Megatron. It was a great series. Wish we got season 4.

Some Cybertronian: obviously bullshitting these two Megatrons and then saying: "Primus is my witness!"
Cyberverse Megatron: "Well, my witness is Gloomy right here!" , pointing at Animated Megatron, who is narrowing his eyes in annoyance at this nickname, "and HE, is still ALIVE!"
Animated and Prime are my absolute favorite versions of the character. Corey Burton did such a good job with him.
We need Corey Burton back as Megatron. He has some serious potential
His Cybertronian design makes him look like ROTF Megatron. I love it.

The main thing that separates TFA Megs from any other incarnation is that he has in spades what many other incarnations lack: Charisma.

I really want to see Transformers Animated Megatron pre earth form again.

You couldn't lead a parade."
He's not just pissed that Starscream tried to ambush and kill him, he's also pissed that his method was so absolutely terrible.
He terrifying even his voice
It's because he is so calm that makes him so scary. Because you don't know what he's going to do or say.
This analysis was fantastic. Animated Megatron is my favourite version of Megatron. He was a huge threat, even when he was a head!
Animated Megatron has my favorite design of any Megatron.
The silver with *red* just does it for me.
His pre-earth Tfa is my fav Megatron to date.
This is one of the many reasons that makes TFA one of the best series of Transformers in general
I really like the autobot and decepticon differences in this series. I like that the deceptions fly and the autobot’s drive
Well more like Super Megatron after Galvatron got crushed in an iceberg and revived by evil entity Dark Nova but yeah
Great to finally see people talking about animated again
Hopefully we can get a season four or continuation some day
This version of Megatron was handled by the same people who created Slade from Teen Titans, so I’m not surprised that they were able to handle him the same way
I'm reading a TFP Shattered Glass fan comic, and despite it being a Prime universe, I can't really imagine "good" Megatron sound like his "canon" self.
"I do not believe in luck!"
And then he only survives the first season because he had Mega Luck. I wonder what that did to his perception of luck...
1. With the help of Omega Supreme's weapons (They won't fall for the same trick twice)
2. Exploiting very specific weaknesses (Again won't work twice) which they easily got back up from
3. Blurr slapping stasis cuffs on them (To be fair who can prepare for that)
4. Optimus tricking them with the reverse freezing trap
These were all tricks and traps. Actually the only Decepticon that was ever defeated legit was Megatron in the finale.
Megatron should’ve believed in luck.

BW: the most cunning
RiD: the most deranged
Unicron: the most tenacious
Animated: the best orator
Aligned: the most cruel
IDW: the most developed
No,
The Animated one is the most Cunning. Since BW Megatron is not Megatron. Megatron is his name sake. And Animated Megs plans are the most affective one with a long shot.
@@Vilgax00 bw: the successor
@@ryanmatthews3609 yeeeeessss.
This megatron has one big advantage:
The acting classes.
I originally thought frank welker was the best Megatron, don’t get me wrong frank welkers still the best but, there’s just something so special about Corey burtons Megatron
There’s a lot of megatron voices that really bring something to the character like David Kaye heck even RID2001’s megatron
out of all the Megatrons in the transformers multiverse, this one looks the most one with brain cells.
Not only were the Decepticons bigger in this series, but they also used guns and bombs, where as the Autobots did not.
Animated megatron and prime megatron are my two favorite incarnations of him.
I'm actually silently praying that they release a Legacy toy of him
It's voice. I love it. It has an eerie/scary sound to it compared to Frank.
I like the cybertronian head design.
Same but if his g1 helmet had a perfectly modern update
Jim Cummings voice of Winnie the Pooh since 1988, Tigger since 1989, Tasmanian Devil 1991, Pete since 1992, Kaa in Jungle Cubs 1996 and Jungle Books 2 2003, Adult King Louie in TaleSpin and Jungle Cubs, Razoul in Aladdin 1994, Aladdin: The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Ed the Hyena in The Lion King 1994, Scar's singing voice in the song "Be Prepared" in The Lion King 1994 then his character in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, Cat in CatDog, Police Chief Gluteus in Ozzy & Drix, Jacques in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, Fusilli in Courage the Cowardly Dog and Nega Duck in Darkwing Duck and DuckTales 2017 where he voices the character Dr. Julian Robotnik in SATAM, where this version is Pure Evil, different from the other version which actually still has a good side, where he was a friend of Sir Charles Hedgehog who became evil and wanted to turn the Mobian into robots

Kevin Michael Richardson voices Goro in Mortal Kombat 1995 and Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge 2002, Captain Gantu in Lilo & Stitch, Deus Ex Machina in The Matrix Revolutions, Antauri in Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Oroku Saki aka Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012, Stump Smash and Tree Rex in Skylanders Video Game, Rosie in F is for Family, Barney Rubbles in Flintstones: On the Rocks, Mauler Twins and Monster Girl in Invincible, Chairman Drek in Ratchet & Clank Video Game and Joker in Batman 2004, Omega Supreme in Transformers Animated Season 2 before replaced by Phil LaMarr in Season 3, the actor who voiced Samurai Jack in the cartoon of the same name who also voiced Jazz, Alpha Trion, Oil Slick and JetStorm, Bulkhead in Transformers Prime, Cleveland Junior in The Cleveland Show and also voiced Mammoth, See- More, Trigon, Bear, Snake and Guardian in Teen Titans 2003 where he voiced Joker in The Batman 2004 because Joker in The Batman 2004 where the Joker in this version is a villain who treats Harley Quinn better than her DC counterpart, calling himself "Joker" rather than "The Joker" and is also a Pure Evil villain with Hugo Strange
Steve Blum voice actor of Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, Zeb Orrelios in Star Wars Rebels, Mugen in Samurai Champloo, Roger Smith from The Big O, Orochimaru and Zabuza Momochi in Naruto and Wolverine in various Marvel media, Jack Cayman in MadWorld, Captain Foley and Tank Dempsey in the Call of Duty series, Professor Galvez in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ares in God of War and God of War: Ascension, Grayson Hunt in Bulletstorm, Brimstone in Valorant, Zoltun Kullie in Diablo III, Sub-Zero in Mortal -Kombat Fertigo in DC Showcase: Green Arrow and Young Justice, Red Skull, Beta Ray Bill and Wolverine in Wolverine and the X-Me and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Amon in Avatar: The Legend of Korra voicing Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin in Spectacular Spider Man where Norman Osborn is a ruthless businessman, inventor, talented chemist, CEO of OscCorp Industries, and father of Harry Osborn's friend Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, after being exposed to a chemical formula he becomes a supervillain as the Green Goblin, terrorizing New York City and the main enemy of Spider-Man until in Season 2 he was finally defeated
easily the best megatron. he had depth and power unlike any megatron before or since.
We just need more TFA in general.
Transformers Animated was the Spetacular Spiderman of Transformers. So good but got cancelled way too soon.
I absolutely love tfa megs, his personality, his design, his voice, AND his relationship with starscream, it's all just so perfect. He's sexy and terrifying. I adore him ❤
Yeah, easily the coolest Megatron in my opinion.
This Megatron's so superior that he doesn't acknowledge him until Optimus finally broke that image of himself.
animated megatron is tywin lannister if he was a transformers
Though I prefer Beast Wars and Prime Megs, this one is probably a close third.
Reason for why Animated Megatron is considered as Pure Evil is Animated Megatron treats Shockwave as just pawn for his goal?
My favorite incarnations of Megatron are Beast Wars, Animated, Prime, and IDW.
Definitely the smartest Megatron in the history of Transformers series
Also the classiest
😎🖤
@@cristinamarisjuanich8391 His voice is so damn badass in this one.
From what I remember of Animated, this Megatron didn't have a lot of screen time; but what he did have was amazing.
I just didn't have the energy to sit through an entire Season and a bits worth of show, to see him finally get a body.
It's the same with TFP. We know they're bringing him back; it's just a case of when the writes decided now they should do it.
have to say i think this is the only Megatron that didnt kamakazi and destroy cybertron even while he was losing the war
This is one of my favorite version of MegaTron
