Wait, I was supposed to put "M808-B" on the tank. I've failed you all.
So after posting this I went and decided to screw around with the models and during that I managed to figure out how to correctly import the mesh normals (After episode 2 I figured out how to correctly use the normal maps, but the mesh normals were still not correct) and now I can't look at this video without vomiting. I did manage to fix the specular maps before rendering, so the armor is properly shiny, at least.
That said, I wouldn't expect a new episode soon (But you're probably used to that) - I need to rebuild all of the character rigs so I can actually animate.

well animators get better at animating over time so maybe the episodes might come out (i know he didn't make the audio) quicker as time goes by

I love your work. RvB is one of my favorite series, and as much as I love the original, it's really awesome to see such a badass reboot.

I like the animation but when Donut was running off into the distance it looked awful. In fact, whenever we saw Donut moving from the waste down it looked... awkward, like something wasn't right. I trust you're going to fix this with the new rigs. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the models from? I thought they looked beautiful...
Unfortunately new character rigs won't improve my animation when I'm super tired and want to finish the episode as fast as possible.
The models are from Halo Reach, you'll have to figure out how to extract them yourself if you wan't them, I'm afraid.

I'm working towards making small animations for fun with Bungie's Halo models like you did here. What was your model export/import workflow? What format did you export the models/textures from Adjutant, and how did you get the model UVs to match the textures in Blender?
+Aathmastralis Exported whatever format adjutant uses, imported them into 3DS Max (which preserves the original UVs), exported as FBX (though any format would do, as the bone weights were broken anyway), imported the model into Blender, and I don't actually remember what format I used for the textures - I think it was just Adjutants default.

Using AMF should keep rigging and materials intact. Then export it from 3DSMax into blenderv
Yo idk if you're still doing these things, but you're makin my day here m8. I get that you have a busy schedule, but I'd love to see more of this. Stop knocking yourself for little mistakes, you're one person animating a literal series, you can't do everything perfect. If you make more of these, I'd love to know.

I really do want to keep working on this (Especially in light of all those fancy new properly mocapped Reach animations that are coming out these days) but I just don't have the time or even the physical space required to make an episode at the quality I want. I'm never gonna say that I'm going to stop trying, but it's gonna be a while.

How do animate the models in blender when they're imported as triangulated meshes?
By rigging them to an armature.
Haha I know that much ;). I was confused because I read that when modeling meshes for animation, it's always best to model with quads over triangles, especially for deformations and such. So I was wondering why they say that when clearly animators like you animate with triangulated ones
Because it is best model with quads, however, it's easier for game engines to render triangles and normal maps work better on triangles. Usually quad models imported into game engines (UE4, Unity, CryEngine, etc) are usually converted to triangles anyway.
Ah, I see. So did you rig the models yourself in Blender, or were you able to import them from 3ds max?
I had to do them myself in Blender, for some reason the bone weighting would not import correctly.
