I hope that works if you are having the same problem as mine
I couldn’t find any videos online about setting this up for SLOBS and just found yours after doing a bit of thinking to set it up on my own last night. I did everything the same way you’ve detailed here however I checked my VOD for last night’s stream and there’s no audio at all. Not sure what went wrong. I thought maybe I needed the plug-in mentioned in the video I watched before this but this video states the plug-in is no longer needed. Any insight?
The plugin is not needed anymore and has to be uninstalled (in case it got installed before) to work. Have you by any chance not split your audio and just sent all audio only to the LIVE track? Check the video description to learn how to split the audio on your system.
Is the Soundtrack source still necessary in my slobs or can I / should I remove it? I'm not sure since it comes from the twitch soundtrack program which I already uninstalled
I figured out that the twitch vod setting isn’t automatically turned on I had to turn it on to see the track options. Edit: I watched the full video and you showed what I was talking about probably should have done that first lol
Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question: I want to stream a game and play music (say on my Spotify) and not have the music in my twitch VOD, so far so good. But it looks like this "audio output capture" just keeps capturing everything that I hear (i.e. all my system audio) How exactly do I add a "Spotify-only" track to my SLOBS so that I can untick it for the VOD? Do I still HAVE to use voicemeter?
I.would recommend using Voicemeeter yes but you don't have to. You can also achieve it by using a hardware audio mixer where you take in different inputs. However Voicemeeter is the easier and more affordable option. In the video description you should find a tutorial on how to seperated the audio tracks. If you still need help after that check the discord: discord.gg/jUftzjEt
Yea I fixed the issue by creating an alt account and logging into that account, then logging out and logging into my main account. Seems to fix the issue
So I have mine set up to only track 1, I can verify with monitoring that my music and my desktop are separate, but my VOD still has the music in it. It is only set to track one, my VOD is set to track 6 following this video, any ideas?
If your VOD track is set to track 6 you need to make sure your music is not on track 6. Also make sure the "vod track" feature in the settings is activated and the track 6 is set as vod track.
Hi i use an Elgato Wave 3 right now I have all my audio going to Streamlabs through Wave Link Stream do I separate all the audio tracks so I can disable music for the Vod or do I just make a separate audio capture select the music track from Elgato and then select that as 1? I hope the way I explain wasnt too confusing
I did a video about wave-like that might help you. our would need to have it as a separate input in order to only send it to live but not to VODs. ruclips.net/video/qWtTZdtCR7g/видео.html
@@GreenBoxMedia I disabled the audio for the stream side of wave link then have the music only coming through the audio output capture I believe that would be the way if i'm correct
So to be sure. Let's say I have the exact same set up as you have with audio tracks 1 & 6, with 6 being my selected Vod audio track. If 6 is ticked off on the mixer menu like you have it then it will not be in the Vod, which is fine, However I'm confused by the fact that it says "stream tracks" next to it. Will live viewers still be able to hear the music when I'm live if number 6 is ticked to the off setting in the mixer?
Ok, let me try to explain this as clearly as I can. In the Output Tab under Streaming (1:16) we set the Audio Track that is used for streaming (usually is 1). All audio that is sent to Audio track 1 (1 is ticked in the "mixer"/advanced audio settings) will be heard on the Livestream. The Twitch VOD feature allows us to send a different Audio Stream to twitch that is not heard LIVE but only appears on the VOD. In this Video (2:04) we defined Audio Track 6 to be our VOD track. All audio that is mixed / routed to Track 6 (box is ticked in the mixer) will be sent to the twitch VOD. If you don't want to hear a source (e.g. Music) (box is NOT ticked in the mixer) it will not be sent to the VOD. All this, however, requires that you have your Music on a separated/dedicated input source and not already mixed with your desktop audio. Tutorial on that is in the description. If you can use OBS studio instead of Streamlabs, there is also a brand-new method to do all of this here: ruclips.net/video/0Lj5rkqSp48/видео.html
@@GreenBoxMedia I have been using streamlabs and have followed all the steps and have my twitch vod track as 6 and only have my music selected on track 1. Somehow I still hear the music in the vod/recording.

I know this is an older video, but I just came across your video. I'm looking into streaming and podcasting. I'd like to have an option where I livestream on Twitch and then get the audio of that stream (basically what I'm saying, perhaps some extra sounds or something), to post the audio to a podcast. Is that possible? Like I said, I'm just starting out, so I have a LOT to learn about this all :) I'm looking into using streamlabs for Twitch :) Thanks for the help!
There are two relatively easy ways to do this. Option A) while streaming you also record your stream and then later edit the recorded video. B) You send your stream audio on your computer to a audio recording software using voicemeeter. I'd go for option A.
I think I accidentally unchecked a certain track for the VOD and now there's no mic audio on the Twitch VOD. IS there a way to recover that or no? I did that before watching this video :(
You have to uninstall Soundtracks by Twitch in order for this to work. You can either use Voicemeeter or any other software that allows splitting your Audio.

It was actually setup to track 1, I guess i didn’t check the box on Twitch VOD. But now it’s at 6. Before that, my recording format was set to FLV instead of MP4. And now, do I leave all the sources (Desktop Audio, Mic, Sound Alerts, Browser Source, Elgato Capture, etc) all checked. I know I have the stream tracks ready (1 and 6). I’ll also tune in to the video you sent, I hope that can sort out my problem, since I’m still learning.
This guide is only for Twitch Livestreams. Recordings by default record everything. You however can disable recording the track which you send music to in the output settings
I just downloaded and installed it on a brand-new Laptop and everything is precisely where I showed it in this video. This is a Twitch feature, so make sure you also select Twitch as your streaming service.
@@GreenBoxMedia Which version do you have installed. I have the latest 1.12.5 and there is no option for Twich Vod as you showed. I can make a video show you if needed. Anyway to make this work now?
So I found it, instead of output settings, it was in Advanced Audio Settings ---> Global Settings. BUT it still wouldn't work till I did this' (From SLOBS Staff:) In order for the VOD track to work, you will need to go live to just Twitch for a few seconds. Then, you can log out of Streamlabs Desktop and log back in and the option should show. Once you check the option, it should then work for you when multistreaming. Please note that the VOD track will only work on Twitch's end, not the other streaming sites. Hope this helps someone! Also, might be a good video to make Greenbox
I dont have the selection to a twitch vod anything in my slobs....kinda weird.l wonder if its because on stream labs my facebook account is the priority streaming account

I'm not sure since it comes from the twitch soundtrack program which I already uninstalled
no, you need to uninstall it
I figured out that the twitch vod setting isn’t automatically turned on I had to turn it on to see the track options. Edit: I watched the full video and you showed what I was talking about probably should have done that first lol
Haha, you're welcome!
@@GreenBoxMedia thank you very much
Hi! Twitch VOD trackk doesnt show up :c I've logged into Twitch thru streamlabs too
Make sure you set the stream destination to twitch for me it appears as soon as I do that.
Yea I fixed the issue by creating an alt account and logging into that account, then logging out and logging into my main account. Seems to fix the issue
@greenbox appreciate the video and your quick reply, I subbed and like and all the good stuff. Awesome channel and keep grinding. Peace ❤️❤️🔥
Don't know why, but I don't see a checkbox "Twitch Vod" under streaming. Recording tab has the audio tracks selected.
Make sure your streaming service is set to twitch. this is an twitch exclusive setting.
@@GreenBoxMedia hey mine is the same exact way. i am logged in via twitch and it doesnt give me the twitch vod box to check.
@@illestpov with that only you can hear the music that is correct.
@@GreenBoxMedia yes
well i figured it out after watching the last video before seeing this update! either way thank you!
Happy to help ✌️
If you can use OBS studio instead of Streamlabs, there is also a brand-new method to do all of this here:
ruclips.net/video/0Lj5rkqSp48/видео.html
@@GreenBoxMedia I have been using streamlabs and have followed all the steps and have my twitch vod track as 6 and only have my music selected on track 1. Somehow I still hear the music in the vod/recording.
@@taylorgrow3912 i'm having the same issue
IDK if this matters or helps anyone else, I have been struggling for the longest time to get this tutorial to work for me and I had the issue where my VOD track option wouldnt stay enabled. after so much trial and error, i just tried setting up the streamlabs ID and NOW it is finally staying enabled and letting me select a vod track. Such a pain in the butt. I love your tutorials they have helped me set everything up....heres to hoping this finally stops my videos from gettin muted XD
That shit didn’t work🤣 u need to make a video for the enable twitch vid track thing cause it doesn’t tell me why it keeps disabling itself. The solution maybe simple idk cause it’s hidden
This method still works just tested. Maybe reinstalling the software or uninstalling twitch Soundtrack can help.
I know this is an older video, but I just came across your video. I'm looking into streaming and podcasting. I'd like to have an option where I livestream on Twitch and then get the audio of that stream (basically what I'm saying, perhaps some extra sounds or something), to post the audio to a podcast. Is that possible?
Like I said, I'm just starting out, so I have a LOT to learn about this all :)
I'm looking into using streamlabs for Twitch :)
Thanks for the help!
There are two relatively easy ways to do this.
Option A) while streaming you also record your stream and then later edit the recorded video.
B) You send your stream audio on your computer to a audio recording software using voicemeeter.
I'd go for option A.
@@GreenBoxMedia Thank you for your fast response! Can I do option A with Streamlabs or do I need to use additional software for that?
I think I accidentally unchecked a certain track for the VOD and now there's no mic audio on the Twitch VOD. IS there a way to recover that or no? I did that before watching this video :(
If the VOD is on twitch already you cant restore it.
Do you still need voicemeeter and Soundtrack by Twitch with this new update? Great video! Thanks :)
You have to uninstall Soundtracks by Twitch in order for this to work.
You can either use Voicemeeter or any other software that allows splitting your Audio.
Can you show the steps to do this on a Mac ?
No I can't
I do not see the Twitch VOD option in my steamlabs obs 1.11.2
am i missing something?
Have you logged into twitch and set it as your streaming service yet?
@@GreenBoxMedia I believe so, I multistream on streamlabs to youtube, twitch and facebook. I set up my wavelink and all that, then i went to a royalty free playlist on spotify for my stream. My vods got muted, so i was trying to figure out how to fix that issue. then i came across your tutorial, but i don't have that little VOD box on my output in SLOBS
@@GreenBoxMedia Ah yes, I did find in my twitch settings that SLOBS is connected
As far as I am aware you can not use the VOD feature in combination with multistreaming.
@@GreenBoxMedia ok thanks
you just saved me such a headache thank you so much
Glad this was helpful 👍
My stream labs is different and for some reason I’m not getting the same options as u
Make sure you selected twitch as stream destination and logged into it.
There must have been an update very recently. As audio tracks aren't visible at all anymore. Is there a way to work around this? Or does this process no longer work for the newest version of Streamlabs OBS?
I updated to the latest version, and it is precisely where it is in this video.
@@GreenBoxMedia Could this be that this (what you recorded) is for the paid version of streamlabs desktop only?
I am not using the premium service of Streamlabs and the settings are still where I demonstrate during the video.
@@GreenBoxMedia thanks for clarifying that at least.. I'm still having the same issue as the OP
@@oggy112 Just to check, you did set the "Output Mode" to "Advanced" right?
Trying to follow this and none of my screens look the same. Had there been another update
I just checked and everything still is where it's supposed to be. Are you sure you are on streamlabs and not OBS Studio?
I think the thing I'm having trouble with is, how do I separate the music from people talking in discord?
check the video description for a tutorial.
okay followed all the steps and did a test stream and i could still hear the music in the VOD
I recommend switching to OBS Studio and working with the Application Audio Capture feature instead.
I cant find that twitch VOD on mine idk why and im on the same version.
You need to be logged in to your Twitch Account on SLOBS.
Worked a treat .... Subbed.
Awesome, thank you!
Hey Greenbox, I followed this but now in the SLobs settings it says "Twitch VOD. Remove Twitch Soundtrack in order to enable this" what should i do now? do i remove twitch soundtrack?
yes go and uninstall the twitch soundtrack application in case you installed it before.
@@GreenBoxMedia so i dont need the twitch soundtrack or the source in my slobs? Just had a stream and all you could hear was my voice, no desktop audio, no game no friends in voice call
Same here ^ I was having a bit of trouble with that and also needed some assistance if possible, I did remove the twitch soundtrack as well.
@@jennielifts This sounds like you did not send desktop audio to track 1. If you need to learn how to seperate your music from your other sounds watch this video: ruclips.net/video/dZkmpQ0npV8/видео.html
Does this work with normal recordings too or just the twitch VOD?
This guide is only for Twitch Livestreams.
Recordings by default record everything. You however can disable recording the track which you send music to in the output settings
so you must have something else installed as none of these options are available in my streamlabs, and it is up to date
BUT it still wouldn't work till I did this'
(From SLOBS Staff:) In order for the VOD track to work, you will need to go live to just Twitch for a few seconds.
Yes that's why. Set twitch to the primary
Thank you I've been asking this question for years
okay I did all of this right. But there's no music while streaming. My settings look exactly like yours... :(
Just to make sure:
1) You have split your music audio into a separate input source?
2) Could it be that you mixed up the live and vod track? (is there music in the vod?)
also all my audio is going through my Go XLR mini
Legend! Just what I needed.
Happy to help ✌️
legit thought i was losing my freaking marbles
Luckely you did not :)
Very Helpful and to the point, thank you for the video
You're welcome!
I've used your tutorial today, and I've done everything as you said, but I just finished my stream and my mic sound was playing in the VOD, but the game sound wasn't. Help please
Have you split your audio in one track for game sound and one for music before?
@@GreenBoxMedia I think so, I've followed all your 3 tutorials about how to do it on streamlabs xD
The most important part is, that music has its own input in Streamlabs and that this one is the only one that gets not sent to the VOD track.
@@GreenBoxMedia yeah that what I've done, i have only 1 input to music and the only ticked "channel" in there is the 1, wich is the live streaming one, I might have to redo it all again so if there's a bug going on might disapear
@@GreenBoxMedia still can't get the game sound in the VOD, could it be because I'm streaming games from ps5 trough router (because I can't afford a capture card right now) or it has nothing to do with it?
Very helpful, thank you for what you do.
Glad it was helpful!
Omg thanks I needed this so much
I tried reinstalling soundtrack by twitch but I still have no twitch vod thing in output settings
