if SW's Stormtroopers were half as qualified as their real life inspirations. Whole trilogy would be over in 1 episode.
2:04 "Jägers led the way" In germanic militaries Jägers is the equivalent to US Rangers, but the litteral translation means hunters. For instance in Sweden we have Fallskärmsjägare = Parachute rangers or Kustjägare = coastal rangers etc.
We have Jägers or "Jääkärit" in Finland too

Stormtroopers were a specific German Special force in ww1.. There were also other stormtroopers.. But the German stormtroopers are more interesting because of their whole Lightning blitzkrieg tactic.. Super modern warfare.

Stormtroopers is about the German Strummen (Stormtroopers). They were known for their fast, blitzkrieg tactics that doesn't leave room for the enemy to even fight back. Their task, however, was not to hold the lines or something along the lines of that. They were tasked to find and exploit weak points in the enemy lines so that when the infantry pushes up, they would manage to breakthrough their lines.
A few facts about them:
> There's 2 divisions of Stormtroopers that were mentioned in the song. "Jagers" were lightly equipped infantry units tasked with clearing trenches and enemy infantry. "Pioneers" were combat engineers tasked with constructing, attacking, and destroying fortifications.
> Because of the nature of their work, Stormtroopers were usually given free reign on how they do their objective. Instead of following a predetermined plan set by their commanders, they were just given the goal/objective and left to have them tackle it how they see fit.
> Stormtroopers were also treated like how football stars are treated (mainly because their work is so dangerous) and they're equipped with the newest gear to field-test it (because they'll be often out fighting with the enemy). Among these was the German MP-18, one of the very first SMGs to be invented.
> They are also masters at using hand grenades. Stormtroopers usually chuck a few into a trench to initially clear out a large number of enemy forces or at least scatter them before they hop in the trenches. Some even haul sandbags full of them.
Sturmtruppen (StormTroopers) were special units and some of the very first units of ‘shock troops’. They operated in very small and independent units and had the best men, training, and weapons. They usually had some kind of close range firearm compared to most other infantry that had long rifles. They had carbines, pistols, pistol carbines, and later in the war the very first submachine gun the mp18. They carried lots of hand grenades and operated under artillery cover to keep the enemies heads down. They were specifically trained to break into trench lines and clear them as fast as possible. And they didn’t take one line and hold it they kept moving always under fire and always pushing.
When the artillery stopped these men would rush the allies lines, they would coordinate their attck down to the second
