It was Jukka on drums, Kai replaced him in 2015 during the recordings of their album 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' and became the permanent drummer in 2019. The guest musician was Pekka Kuusisto with his violin. Tuomas is a great fan of Disney movies since childhood, so it was an 'easter egg' mentioning Mary Costa in the song. With most songs of Nightwish it is handy to have google and a dictionary close by.

Hi Uncle Bill As mentioned already, you should (for your own enjoyment) watch the Buenos Aires 2018 version. The South American audiences are the most enthusiastic according to Tuomas and it shows in that concert. Plus the sound is better. Tuomas looking back to the joys of childhood again. He was a great Disney fan hence the reference to Mary Costa (Aurora in the original Sleeping Beauty). I agree Floor has got better and its one reason I think the Buenos Aires show is thebest of the lot. Floor and Marco both at their peak. Oh and it IS Jukka. Note the bandana.

I was caught by what you said about singer's voices maturing, because I agree. They may lose some of the high notes, but so often there is an added richness and fullness that wasn't there when they were younger. I think that Floor, Tarja and Marko all exhibit this. And, it's funny, but I just read an article about Jon Bon Jovi where he mentioned how his voice has changed over the years. Good news on that front, too. He was having major vocal problems but it looks like he is getting better and is back to performing, on a limited basis. I think that for many older singers, once they reach a certain age, find that the ability to do mega-tours and keep the voice healthy becomes diminishes. And, boy, did I just drift off topic.
Hey, I love drifting off subject!! Jon learned how to actually sing long after the band's heyday. You can hear it when he does the older songs and there is a big difference. Nancy, being a huge Bon Jovi fan back in the day, doesn't think he sounds as good now but that's what happens. Rob Halford of Judas Priest is 71 and he still sounds amazing. All depends on genetics, training and maintenence, I suppose. Drifting a little off subject, but I see Jon Bon Jovi made the cover of the AARP newsletter! Now, there's a milestone 😁

Jukka IS on drums here, not sure why Kai is listed in the description. Kai didn't come in until the summer of 2014 during the recording of the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album ,when Jukka decided to step away. There is a 21 episode Endless Forms Most Beautiful making of documentary, Jukka leaves between episode 5 and 6, with a separate video covering his leaving. The song I see as a longing to experience the intensity of emotions the way one did when they were young. Don't know about the guy in the crowd, first time I had ever seen this version. Hadn't seen it before with a violin too. The Buenos Aires 2018 and Wacken 2013 versions are the most watched. Check those out later. The Buenos Aires version is probably the most fun one, with that South American crowd, and Floor dancing all over the stage. At Wacken , there is Emppu's stage prank on Floor.
That dude in the crowd has me really twisted! Him and the guy next to him are the only ones looking and reacting to the camera and they cut directly to Tuomas- it's freaky! Both those versions sound compelling-Floor dancing, Emppu's prank- gotta check them out! also, I thought that was Jukka- certainly looked like him! I know Kai was Jukka's replacement as is currently the drummer of NW, but I foolishly went with what was in the box. Can't trust anything these days! 😁 Thank you, my brother!
A great reaction as always. My favourite version of this song is at Buenos Aires 2019. Floor was well established in the band and her confidence and stage presence was really evident in the performance, and the crowd at Buenos Aires are the best audience a band could wish for. This performance was still amazing, and the addition of the fiddle player was a nice addition. Looking forward to your next one.🤟

Been with Nightwish since the start but I swedish, easy to come across music when it is in an neighbouring country. Don't have a favorite when it comes to their singers, they all have brought something unique.

Unfortunately, this version seems to have a bunch of distortion in the music, but it was a key time as Floor started out with Nigtwish on tour in 2012. Yes, Floor's voice and the band has matured a lot. I started back around 2019 when YT introduced me to the greatest show on Earth at Wembley.
I didn't notice anything 'wrong' with the sound. But then again, I've spent most of my life in front of Marshall stacks without any hearing protection (we didn't know any better back then) so I'm sure I've lost some hearing over the years. I notice NW fans desire PERFECTION! Not me. I like the rawness of a live show. I expect it to be imperfect, flawed, real! Now, I can check out the 2019 show in Argentina and witness that maturity and growth. Thank you, my friend! 🤘❤️🤘
