Saw them do this live, tore it up, and then as they finished the show said "That's the last song we're going to play!" They start breaking down the stage, and as the last monitor gets pulled, the song starts up on the PA, and they JUMP back on stage to do the dance. to the delight of the sold out house! Just as humble and nice today as they were as an opening band for Fountains of Wayne way back in the day.
The bassline in this song is criminally underrated, this is where I send people to show them several things: What Precision basses 'should' sound like, how to use space in a bassline, how to develop a motif, and how to do lead bass while still holding the groove as first priority. I do believe Tim is a genius.
+What ? For most people, yes. For me and a lot of my friends, this video is what made us take notice of them. I think if they hadn't had this video first, then the treadmill one would have never been seen to fruition, so you COULD argue that this is indeed what made them "famous."
+JJV AvION Their song 'get over it' was the one that kicked it off for me and all of our friends at school. That's what got them started... being as it was their first single back in 02! There were days before youtube!
I have just been on a tear with these after years, and that's what I noticed too. Dan seems like he'd be the guy to balk at these things, but he always seems to be having a blast.
This is one of those bands I'll tell anyone I like because no matter what their taste is in music they'll be wrong if they disagree. inb4 opinion OKGO is Fact
These guys are the only people in the world I'm envious of. I will never have friendship like these guys obviously have. It's what makes them such a joy to watch.
I get a sense that there isn't much competition between the band members. They seem one of the most collaborative groups/bands I've seen. They seem to share in their production process of both their music & vids.
I have loved OK GO since this video first came out. I spent hours in front of my PC learning every move of this dance and I still remember most of the moves 15 years later.
It's cool to see the evolution of OK Go's music videos. They went from dancing in the backyard to dancing on treadmills to a Rube Goldberg machine to using a car as an instrument on a massive rally track
I was so fortunate to see them when they were still playing small clubs with a couple hundred people in the audience, and they did this dance in a teeeeeeeeny little space. It was awesome.
I remember when this was new. Nowadays, video is THE format, and there is a video about almost everything. But back when I first saw this, it really was the first video i'd seen of a band dancing out an entire music video in one take. This was cool and impressive, and to me it still is. It's a cool video, OKGO. You guys should be proud.
I don't know what thought process led me here but I decided to show my 8 year old okgo's extra music videos and started here cuz I told her years ago I saw them in Detroit and they were told their set was over, started packing and then, oops! The set wasn't over so Tim said "we didn't pack our treadmills so we're gonna dance for you" and they performed this! My daughter said she is very impressed with your moves and now we're off to watch the higher budget videos 😂💜
they're obviously not professional dancers but they still did really well and this is actually exceptionally well choreographed lol, not to mention a damn groovy tune
The Godfather of RUclips phenomenons. Back when Myspace was still huge. Before Dougie, Gangnam Style, gwiyomi, harlem shake, Ylvis, and twerkin, everybody was doing A million ways dance. Kids nowadays have no idea. Memories :')
blooduhz I imagine those are the “Dislikes.” I’m old enough to remember when MTV actually played almost exclusively music videos. Heck, I remember when there WAS no MTV. But the best videos were always the ones like this, pure, simple, like Madonna’s “Like. Virgin,” watching the singers perform without a gazillion special effects. This one is classic. But what I like best is that even their videos that have lots of stuff going on, it’s all very REAL and they get amazing effects out of them.
blooduhz The American Liberal Socialist education has brainwashed the New Generation in Learning Grown Up Stuff & controlling people. No fun, just be a workaholic. No music!!!
In my opinion this is probably one of the all time best video efforts ever. I go back to it every once in a while to get charged. It's just so good. The story behind it is phenom. Love these guys.
Fun fact: the song playing at the start of the video before they get into position is It's A Disaster, the song that A Million Ways comes after in the album
体育の時間にこの動画のダンスを練習して、代表者として中学の文化祭で踊ったけw他の人達は流行りの曲を踊ってたのにw I practiced the dance in this video during physical education and danced at a junior high school school festival as a representative! Others were dancing popular songs.
i can't express how much Damain looks like he doesn't want to be there whatsoever 😂 Dan on the other hand is giving it his all and smiling the whole time lmao
One of the only groups today that plays actual instruments for their music, But based on Most of their videos you would never guess what instruments they play... And for the longest time you would have never guessed who their actual singer is.
cheered me up a bit today. it's nice to see 4 men who seem to have figured out why it was fun to be a cheerleader. my little brother grew tired of being tossed about at practiice. thanks for where you took it.
I first saw okgo in 2006 at tulip fest in albany NY and they played this song. I was 16. I had never heard if them and they didnt have a big crowd at all. I bought a shirt and had them sign it. I didn't know at the time that they would go on to do such amazing videos and incredible songs I am so proud of them!
Saw them do this live, tore it up, and then as they finished the show said "That's the last song we're going to play!" Just as humble and nice today as they were as an opening band for Fountains of Wayne way back in the day.
That must have been phenomenal!
Nice
This the type of comments I would like to read about my music career if I made it in music haha
The bassline in this song is criminally underrated, this is where I send people to show them several things: What Precision basses 'should' sound like, how to use space in a bassline, how to develop a motif, and how to do lead bass while still holding the groove as first priority. Totally agree!!!
i agree that this is what a p bass should sound like but their bassist has gone on record saying this whole album was on a hagstrom concord bass
From the backyard to zero gravity. Nice.
+Neberheim Next thing you know, they'll shoot a music video IN SPACE.
+Naveek Darkroom Or on the moon.
+escapethemoon Then at light speed.
+Naveek Darkroom
I not doubt! >u
but the earth is Flat :(
Friendly reminder that this is what made this band famous
+JJV AvION actually it was their treadmill music video that kicked them to the sky (made them famous)
+What ? For most people, yes. For me and a lot of my friends, this video is what made us take notice of them. I think if they hadn't had this video first, then the treadmill one would have never been seen to fruition, so you COULD argue that this is indeed what made them "famous."
+JJV AvION Or, for the fans of the music, 'Get Over It' in 2002..
+janderson1234 True. But that can be said about any artist ;-) This video set them apart initially, because it's just so awesome.
+JJV AvION Their song 'get over it' was the one that kicked it off for me and all of our friends at school. That's what got them started... being as it was their first single back in 02! There were days before youtube!
I adore Dan's energy. At some parts he just can't help but smile because he's having so much fun.
Watching Damian and Andy dance brings a smile to my face too
I have just been on a tear with these after years, and that's what I noticed too. Dan seems like he'd be the guy to balk at these things, but he always seems to be having a blast.

These guys can sing, write music, they are good looking and they have a great sense of humor - what LEGENDS! I always enjoy everything they do.
couldn't have been more correct friend. this band is responsible for some of the most innovative and memorable music videos of the last 15 years
The good looking part could be debatable but they definitely got drip
When you and your three best friends have a really complicted secret handshake
Literally ahahaha
And there’s a million ways to do it
GuthixUnborn hey nice profile picture
yeah nice profile picture dude
you called?
Saw them last night and they did this dance as part of their encore - so damn adorable lol loved it XD
It was the BEST wasn't it! So unexpected! So perfect!
Your comment is damn adorable too! ^_^
damn guys can we talk about how fucking great this band is?
This is one of those bands I'll tell anyone I like because no matter what their taste is in music they'll be wrong if they disagree.
inb4 opinion
OKGO is Fact
***** I just got tickets to see them in a small lounge venue. How excited should I be? (never seen them before and only know like 3 songs)
Thomas Hooper I think you should be very excited. Although I have never seen them live before either. :) But I really want to! They're amazing band
Weronika Tea You should see them in real life! I did, and it was one of the best one nights of my life!
I'd love to but they are not having a live show in my country or anywhere near..:(
These guys are the only people in the world I'm envious of. I will never have friendship like these guys obviously have. It's what makes them such a joy to watch.
I get a sense that there isn't much competition between the band members. They seem one of the most collaborative groups/bands I've seen. They seem to share in their production process of both their music & vids.
No one mentioned what an AWSOME CHOREOGRAPHED SYNCHRONIZATION this was. That took a LOT of work to perfect. BRAVO GUYS! The song is pretty good too!
I have loved OK GO since this video first came out. I spent hours in front of my PC learning every move of this dance and I still remember most of the moves 15 years later.
i love how tim is always the one lip-syncing but damian is the actual singer
went to the comment section just to find this comment
Damian just wants to get funky with the homies!!!
Glad someone else noticed....thought I was the only lol
I was wondering if he's just a really confident or experienced dancer, and so he took the lead in those instances. Your guess is as good as mine.
@@jeremypayne5078 his sister is the choreographer, so i wouldn't be surprised if he has some dance experience
20 years and still good
My biggest flex is at 10 years old I had all this choreography memorized
I don't now, but 10 year old me was going places
😅
These guys are the best. The CHAMPS of one-take videos.
It's cool to see the evolution of OK Go's music videos. They went from dancing in the backyard to dancing on treadmills to a Rube Goldberg machine to using a car as an instrument on a massive rally track
This song has been on my mind lately.
I was so fortunate to see them when they were still playing small clubs with a couple hundred people in the audience, and they did this dance in a teeeeeeeeny little space. It was awesome.
Robert Headley This song has been on my mind lately also.
Is it still on you guys's minds?
😊👍
Ah, this is where it all started. What a wonderful history!
All that choreography in one take with a stationary camera. I am impressed.
Ok Go is the triple threat. Singing, dancing, great hair.
Well most of them have great hair... 😅... 👴
Holy crap, I remember waiting HOURS for this video to load years ago when I had crappy dial-up internet. It was worth every minute!
you have to be lying
one of my favorite music videos ever made, about bad friends and acquaintances who wont stop mistreating someone
Still one of the best music videos of all time!
I love seeing Dan counting 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 throughout the sidestepping bit :)
Been watching this video for over ten years and I just noticed that...
Memorized this dance 5 years ago, forgot about it, and was surprised when I still knew all the moves today
It's been 5 years since then, still remember it?
As recently as last week, RUclips recommended a video where four guys recreated this dance at a wedding reception! 👌
I don't know what I just watched but it was beautiful.
It's called the big bang of modern internet content
These are more movements than I could remember, impressive as always!
Years later, and this video still makes me smile the entire time. :-)
Years later and still accurate
I love how drummer mouths the words and emotions perfect while doing the dance moves. simply talented showman

my favorite band, thanks guys from Modena - Italy
Congratulations! You, sir, have won the internet.
Soo many magnitudes more ways to be kind.❤
I remember hearing this song an eternity ago when you guys played it with Bonerama. Still one of my favorite tunes.
I don't know what thought process led me here but I decided to show my 8 year old okgo's extra music videos and started here cuz I told her years ago I saw them in Detroit and they were told their set was over, started packing and then, oops! I still come back to watch this because of nostalgia. Thanks for making the world a brighter.
I like how Dan is smiling throughout the dancing.... he looks like he's having fun
"where do we shoot the music video?"
"backyard?"
"ok go.."
And now you know, the rest of the story
I love the bass in this song
still remember watching this video on the old Yahoo Music, way before RUclips. brings back the memories
They are so good at being coordinated yet awkward. XD Love it!
One does not simply stop watching the music video
Almost a decade later, and this still holds up as one of the best music videos I've ever seen.
I give it 5 stars, and they can dance to it.
This is my NEW favorite band. Even though I'm late to the party!
remoney make sure to see them live- truly amazing
welcome to the party, bet it's been fun catching up :)))
How come they haven’t had an album since 2014 but still seem to be together?
This band is phenomenal! Doubt if you'll ever see another one like this. Great job guys. Please keep making more songs and videos. I can't get enough
gosh... I still remember okgo were a phenomenon of the internet in the mid-00s. good old days, love their first two albums, some great bops are there.
forever my fave ok go video. how could you not love this?
+mww92297 I like this video too but there are better

did this for my high school dance comp in 2010 and WON !!
Still their best song. Every beat, every note, is perfect
they're obviously not professional dancers but they still did really well and this is actually exceptionally well choreographed lol, not to mention a damn groovy tune
I love happiness!!!! TY OKGO
This is where it all started... and now they're doing dances in zero-G. :-)
Don't you just hate it when you try to watch this video but just can't stop staring at DAMIAN
Or is that just me LOVE YOU DAMIAN! ;)
Imagine going from this to their latest video. That's kind of beautiful, awesome, and inspiring.
Nostalgic... You boys are super cute>
Sorry boy bands, OKGO has the best choreography Period
still a banger and such a cool dance routine
"OK GO I CHOOSE YOU!!"
*OK GO uses dance*
*It's super effective!!*
To see this in true HD is my life goal

The two voices I love the most in the world: Damien Kulash and Juliette Lewis.
In my opinion this is probably one of the all time best video efforts ever. I go back to it every once in a while to get charged. It's just so good. The story behind it is phenom. Love these guys.
Don’t forget- none of this would’ve happened without Damien going through his Little Tennis training.
Omg yess the tennis training 😂😭 I'm glad someone else remembers that
Been my favorite song for years, never seen the vid...nice.
I hadn't seen the video either.
But I do have the song on CD.
💿🎧
Very cool that Damian had Tim lipsynch in the video. No "front man" in a band
Ever time I hear this song, I notice something new. Like the subtle piano playing in the second verse! :)
My favourite video band, all bank.
This band is really unique, ive never seen something like this from other band anywhere in the world
Fun fact: the song playing at the start of the video before they get into position is It's A Disaster, the song that A Million Ways comes after in the album

i'd ask about making this into a just dance but none of my friends are cool enough to know who OK Go is.

It's been ages and what's surprising is this song's barely popular and it was the first thing that got them noticed back in the good old youtube days!
I had learned this choreography by myself years ago, just from watching this video. I love this so much!
