My take:
Braig doesn't have much screentime - just half in the middle and half toward the end. It's the strength of his characterization in this game that allows him to leave an impression, and that's a pretty neat accomplishment.
The Mark he is the master of masters.

When you remember he doesn't have a certain book so he literally thought he was gonna die here probably and explains why he's ultra pissed and scares behind getting hurt.

And yet, stuff like this makes me wonder how far ahead certain plot points were planned out, because holy crap the amount of foreshadowing.
It's so crazy. In this game and in KH2 theres just such a looming secret than you can tell Xigbar has, yet I would've never thought it would be this big
Some plots were quite obvious that it just made up as the series went along (you can't deny that) but there are some plot points that were planted in but never really expand upon.
For example, the Keyblade War, the general concept of that tale has been established since KH1 but with all the Foretellers, Dandelions and such, that's clearly something Nomura made up to expand it.
I’m guessing that by Birth by Sleep, Nomura roadmapped out KH3

the body damage isnt all that important to him actually, hes a pro body snatcher, and has doubtlessly chewed through several vessels/identities since the keyblade war ended. hell hes likely the one that told xehanort about the bodysnatching trick in the first place.

Assuming after the Keyblade War. Life started all over again with different states of time, in different worlds
That means Luxu depending on what world he settled in after giving up No Name, lived for countless lifetimes, passing on from one body to the next, to survive to present day

So I'd say it's likely been several centuries.

And those roles were created by Mom to tie them to the fate he wanted. The Master of Masters bound them to their "game pieces".

I like to imagine that during the year Apprentice Xehanort worked under Ansem, Braig just acted like a little shit constantly to the amnesiac. Dropping little hints that would make no sense, and tossing out snide remarks, all the while sporting that smug smirk of his. He must've reveled being in-the-know while the his "boss" was pretty much clueless.
oh i bet its his favorite thing in the goddamn world, even when addressing his old team in the reveal he was just as smug as ever. just the fact that hes even slightly ahead of the curve to whats going on probably brings a smile to his smug face.

Huh. I have an even more interesting theory. What if.... Braig was possessed by Luxu instead of Xehanort when he was off screen after the BBS keyblade graveyard showdown? The yellow eyes can be explained as a GENERAL symptom of possession from ANY person.

Anti Aqua had them and she wasn’t possessed by Xehanort, just Darkness. Possession by the Darkness I think is what truly gives you yellow eyes
What I believe is Luxu was Master Xehanorts master and body hopped into him. Then behind the scenes in BBS Luxu while inside Master Xehanort jumped into Braig, clearly he was controlled by Luxu. And now he is still in Xigbars body and probably will hop in a new one next game.

Lol to be fair I was not surprised by braig xigbar revealed. But I thought he was was the master since they acted the same and had one eye missing.
kriss007G people say MoM acts like Sora, but I always thought he acted more like Xigbar. It makes sense now that Luxu would act like his master.

DarkJSN It’s hard to tell because you know he writes that as he goes for alot of things. But with this one it seems like he really had things planned for Xigbar. For example it was xigbar who recruited the same members that are from the age of Fairy tales. Also prior to him being revealed as Luxu ot never made sense why he wanted Xehanort’s Keyblade so badly. Sure he could have just acquired his own Keyblade for the time being.
Probably not as far back as BBS but he definitely planned it a few years ahead. We can infer from 358/2 days and BBS that Nomura wanted to do something big with Xigbar. By the time he came up with the character Luxu he must have realized what to do with Xigbar.

@@na2ser00 correct. this is actually luxu playing as braig. The real braig/non luxu hasnt made an actual appearance yet. As far as xigbar being "half xehanort" i expect tetsuya to reveal more to that in the upcoming series. He usually tries to connect everything back while revealing more mysteries

@@PKLO9727 no braig/luxu wasnt. Read report 13 in kh3. Luxu states this is his last body to posses, that he found the person of darkness to restart the keyblade war, keeping an eye on his keyblade to whoever it is passed on to.

I'm like 100% positive that Luxu bodyhopped into Braig and yall just dumb thinking Braig is the same person as the real Luxu we all saw in back cover. It's Luxu but inside Braig who became Xigbar "controlled but not really controlled" by Xehanort.
See how his eyes changed in BBS here!!! Luxu hopped in Master Xehanort in the past and behind the scenes in this game, Luxu hopped in Braig.
I guess we'll find out for sure when kh4 comes out 10 years later.

Pretty sure yellow eyes is just a sign of darkness, and Xehanort has never been controlled by anyone, only influenced and manipulated indirectly along with his curiosity.

This guy surely can't be Luxu since it seems a bit obsessed with wielding a keyblade. Xigbar probably learned everything about Luxu and the Foretellers in the Ava incident and he is suplanting him.
In this game Braig is suddently Norted so there must be something hidden about this character to be revealed.
The "Ava incident" (Skuld, if you ask me) took place after the end of BBS, during the era of apprentice Xehanort. Besides, that was exactly how he wanted to come over.

My theory is that Braig/Luxu is the Master of Masters. Notice how he only complains about his face getting injured, and not his eye being lost... that eye later becomes the one on No Name.
i thought that as well but the eye on noname isnt a human eye so braig/luxu isnt MoM. MoM is still a mystery
