@Deimonk Oh yes, because Xemnas, a villain who doesn't care about anybody is never sarcastic or demeaning at all during the course of the series. Xemnas, the nobody of the main villain who stole the body of one of Aqua's best friends, mocking her empty armor by calling her "friend". No, obviously my headcanon. Also, just because ONE of your questions, and an overall irrelevant question to the series as a whole, wasn't answered does not mean NO QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED.

@Deimonk But seriously, Kingdom Hearts unfortunately doesn't rely on giving any straight answers. It relies on interpretation and symbolism to answer questions, which can get annoying. So if you're expecting for the series to give us straight answers to questions, you're in for a disappointing experience.
Deimonk we can follow it, it just takes time and a lot of understanding to piece it all together, all you want is for everything to be answered and straight to the point, which isn't in this game, sorry dude try again
It just never ceases to amuse me seeing how everyone loses it when Luxu is revealed as none other than Xigbar this whole time. With this Xigbar has officially jumped to my top 3 favorite Kingdom Hearts characters of all time.
who would thought that Xigbar that started like any other of the memebers of the organization would end being someone so relevant in the series

After that, the more we saw of him, the more I was hoping it would turn out like this.

@@Mandutumuch619 For 13 years since KH2 ended, every KH game painted a clearer picture of where the story was going: the showdown with Xehanort, including who he was, what he wanted, how he planned to accomplish his goal, when and where it would happen, and everything the heroes needed to do to stop him. That all happened in KH3, and when that was over, we were suddenly left in the dark again.
Where did Sora go when he disappeared? How could he be saved? What does the Master of Masters want? Why did Luxu bring the other Lost Masters back? Who was that girl Ansem and Saix kept talking about (it's not Kairi, btw)? Who was the Nameless Star that Sora talked to? How would a Toy Story video game character of all people be involved in any of this? _What's in the mother-flipping box already?_
For the first time in 13 years, the possibilities of the future of Kingdom Hearts seemed endless, and all we could do was watch and see. And it was Bell's job to get us pumped over what would come next.

I was so absorbed and into it when the fortellers showed up and my jaw dropped when he pulled his hood down. Still get chills every time i watch it. Can't wait for the next installment

Hm....after seeing Union X's ending....I think I understand this game a bit more. This was all a part of the Master of Masters plan to have seven strong willed Keyblade wielders to house 7 of the 13 true darknesses...to be eventually put down at the hands of Sora. Putting a big blow against the darkness. I think he mentioned something about Darkness not being able to be defeated without a body to be in. I believe he said that if you could have the darkness in you in such a way, you could control it. If those 7 have the darkness in them, then another was with the Player/Xehanort, with another being with Ventus in the form of Vanitas and/or a possible other. So 9/13, 2 of which have been dealt with. To go further the next game won't end with Sora defeating the Master of Masters....not yet anyway. He probably has one more trick up his sleeve to get vessels for the last remaining darknesses that will come into play later.
Knowing me though, I probably missed something.

Which is not hard when they have no narrative limits. That doesn't excuse the fact almost nothing in the first 3 games made 0 sense until years later.
To add to this, they had to handwave 90% of the plot of KH1 and KH2 as being time travel shenanigans to fix the glaring issues, so you can stop pretending it was all a master plan story from the beginning, it clearly wasn't and still isn't, Nomura I guarantee doesn't know any more about kingdom hearts 4 than I do

Devan Taylor Me too we hadn't got a new KH game released 2 years later since Dream Drop Distance and aside from the HD ReMixes after DDD release we had to wait 5 and 7 years for II.8 (2017) and KH3 (2019) respectively.
Hopefully we get KH4 or a new KH game by 2021/2022 in time for the KH franchises 20th Anniversary, but given Nomura's projects he wants to work on (FFVII remake) and Square Enix's management with how they announce and release games well........

I like Pete and Maleficent roles switched from Pete wanting to charge in and Maleficent is holding him back with her staff being like are you crazy? Cause before Pete would be the one to cower from a fight and Maleficent would make a grand entrance, it shows how much they've grown as a duo. 😄
This reveal, that and the info about the 4 organization members who weren't Ansems apprentices, AND everyone meeting back up after 7 games, is why I waited forever for this game to finally be revealed.

After watching the final cutscenes in Union X and Dark Road, it is revealed that there were 13 Darknesses. The Master of Masters used himself, Luxu, and the five Foretellers as vessels to contain the Seven most powerful of the Darknesses. Four of these Dark entities are sealed within the Data World and Ephemer and his friends escaped. Only one of these Darnkesses remains unaccounted for.

@@GreetingsInferiors Four were sealed in the Data World. One took up residence in Ven's heart before Xehenort separated it from the boy's heart with his Keyblade, leading to the creation of Vanitas. Seven were sealed in the Hearts of the Master of Masters, Luxu, and the five Foretellers.
Eleven of the 13 Darkness were sealed away. Vanitas either returned to Ven's heart sometime after KHIII or is still out there plotting something. The last one remains unaccounted for and probably won't reveal itself until KHIV or V.
I'm hoping Maleficent meets the Master of Masters, they'd have quite the conversation with the MoM being the comedian and Maleficent not amused. Then when the subject of the talk comes to the Book of Prophecies, the MoM would either be evasive or just hand her the Book
If that happens, the MoM would probably say something like: "No point keeping that book secret now. Most of the futures it predicted have already happened and the future powers it had have come to be. Soon the Book Prophecies will be no different from a powerless history book. And hey, who reads history books these days?"
All seven are there if you include Pete and maleficent. And shit going to hit the fan maleficent has all the information and tools except the box. But now she knows where the box is. And she played it smart why everybody else was fighting she was observing and preparing herself and gathering information. To see where everybody screwed up so she could carry out her plans flawlessly.

I really gotta admit that Xigbar being Luxu was quite the curveball considering all the clues from past games would have only made sense *AFTER* watching the epilogue... and that's only if you know the story to EVERY game he's appeared in...
This got me thinking, where is Ava and what mission was Luxu talking about besides the one role she was given? Remember in KHX there was some dialogue between Luxu and Ava and he explains exactly what he has to do but did he mention all of this? She ended up fighting in the Keyblade War and said no one can ever know about this to our player. Did ava have anything to do with the Masters intention? What role did she fill out? Holy shit haha I'm thinking way too much.

@@althea7181 I think they’re referring to KH Union X I believe it’s called. Wasn’t it a PC game? And I thought Ava’s role was suppose to be to not get involved in any unions or be a part of the war. She was supposed to find keyblade wielders who had the “potential” and send them off to other worlds in order to protect the light from the darkness that would ensue within the war. At least that’s what I remember. It was a long time since I played that game. Now that I think about it, Ava reminds me of Kairi a lot. Or the other way around. Maybe they’re linked?
I love how even with all the speculation going on this twist still had everybody with their jaws on the floor. I hope that future KH twists continue to be this good.

I think what's in the box is everyone's underwear and thats how Luxu summons all of the old Masters. Ava isn't summoned cause she was too shy to give the Master of Masters her underwear
Luxu/Xigbar says he has been through many other semblances since his original body. I think this means much like the Master of Master's keyblade, Luxus heart has passed down from body to body at least after travelling forward in time once.
Starting to wonder if Master of Masters is just the older version Luxu who travels back to the beginning to set the events in motion just like Ansem speaking to Young Xehanort

@@Luzhong_editz so what had happened, in union x we are the player that existed in the events that led to The Great Keyblade War that led to child genocide. Ava had a mission that was to create a separate faction of keyblade wielders that would exist to ensure light and life would go on. One thing led to another, this led to the player sacrificing himself to keep darkness at bay from corrupting his comrades. In the ending of his life, he was given a choice of either turning into a guardian for dream eaters or to reincarnate as he is thinking about it, we see visions of a baby Xehanort being raised with a mysterious hooded figure on destiny islands. It’s under assumption that the player got reincarnated into Xehanort. After the new dark roads ending however, it’s now been revealed that player didn’t get reincarnated into Xehanort but was reincarnated into to old mysterious figure that raised him before he went off to escala ad caeulm to train as a keyblade wielder under Master Odin

I love how people put shade of FFXV for for having a tie in movie to understand the conflict but with the upcoming Fortellers Saga nobody seems to mind that the only way to really understand it is to play a spin off PHONE GAME. Allow me to repeat, PHONE GAME. People can be so backwards sometimes...
It's one of those things that are so dumb that they stop being frustrating and annoying and instead become just funny.
Yeah, but it's at least a game, and not movie that was supposed to be a part of the game. Plus, you don't need Chi/UX to know backstory.
that's because KH is a saga whereas FF games are supposed to be stand-alone entries. and the existance Kingsglaive also mean removing the invasion sequences from the actual game in instead creating a literally who character in place of Noctis. it would be like removing the bombing mission from FF7 and replacing Cloud with some made up character just to justify not having to create Midgar for the game opening

There's a chance the reason he still has the color of xehanort eyes is probably because he is slowly being recompleted and hasn't been restored all the way yet and maybe he will have his original eye color back once he is fully recompleted.

Just similar voices since both characters are young. Gula and Ven are two completely different characters. Gula most likely died during/after the Keyblade War or else just left altogether and went through life on his own.
I hope this new saga doesn't turn out to be as lengthy as the Xehanort Saga. We had to go through a total of 11 games before Nomura finally decided to start working on Kingdom Hearts III.And we had to wait two years before after the release of KH 2.8 to finally see this.

@@laurenpollock9027 Ehh. I feel like the series was on a bit of a decline when they kept releasing games after KH2. The games post-KH2 were released on several different platforms (PSP, DS, 3DS), it was hard to keep up with the series if you couldn't afford like 4 different platforms. It's not too much of a problem now since basically all the games are available on the PS4, but it was an issue for a while.
I wouldn't be Kingdom Hears if they didn't answer one question with a hundred more unanswered ones

Here's a short little theory. And of course spoilers.
So Luxu reincarnated as Braig/Xigbar, playing the role of being one of the 13 darknesses. And here, there's a 'nightmare' born from one of the seekers. Fast forward to KH3 and you'd see Maleficent walking around with Pete looking for a black box. Go a little further and you get the scene with XIgbar talking to four of the seekers while Maleficent and Pete look on from a distance. But here's the question, how is it that they got there at such a convenient moment without having any prior knowledge of the Keyblade Graveyard? Did she just stumble on the place?
Or is it that she was summoned?
It's true that the others were unaware of her existence, but then you look at the dialog and think back on Xigbar's habits. Remember those lines he said: "I told her, clear as day, what it is I had to do." "...Ava had her own mission, and she carried it out."
Do you remember who all Maleficent had a hand in influencing and interacted with? Sora, Riku, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, and a few others I can't list off right now, keyblade wielders who would eventually partake in the second keyblade war. And here she is walking around with a cat-like being in Pete.
I'm sure you've pieced this together now: Maleficent and Pete is none other than Ava and her nightmare.

And in the end the traitor would gather from his painful life being alone after all these years the only family he ever knew. He had a role to play, to betray his world. He was to consume darkness and when the time came to get his keyboard back he would have the darkness from the box consume the foretells of the past. Thus the new seekers of darkness would fight the light to bring and end to it all.
Is Maleficent getting a bigger role after this because she was around to see this? Finally getting her place back in one of the big villain chairs since her KH1 days?
Look's like she and Pete are going to have to form a new villain alliance in order to get the black box. Two resurrected, One freed from their prison, and one who doesn't accept their offer at first because they already work for another alliance and are trying catch something but get's fired later on then decide's to join them.
Is it just me or is someone not thinking of these facts:
- Who the hell is that secret boss in KH3 and if you look at its weapon, it looks like a
keyblade too!
- Whats with the white-haired kid that lend Sora a hand when the Heartless Tornado
appeared.
- Xehanort striking down Kairi at end, which I believe would result in Namine being released,
again.
- The fact that Eraqus and Xehanort know so much about those missing masters
Means that the next story has something to do specifically not just Lushu and his cronies, but also Namine, That white-haired kid who Sora saw in a vision who saved him from that heartless tornado must be that third heart Sora had locked in him according to one of ansem's apprentice and that secret boss, I believe is another warrior who fell to darkness like Terra and Xehanort must have known that Namine was one of the key factors to ending this conflict and the only way he could have set this in motion was by striking down Kairi to bring Namine back, Xehanort must have already knew Braig/Xigbar was Luxu the evil keyblade master, so Xehanort was probably playing the role of the villain to find out what really was going on and what Luxu was up to, same probably with Eraqus, both took different paths to find the answer they needed to know about Luxu's plan, which was why they wanted to know the history behind this War and the lost masters, Xehanort took the Road to darkness to find answers to Luxu's past involvement with this War and Eraqus took the Road to light to find answers to the same question, but ultimately the answers right now to this mystery lies with Maleficent, Yen Sid, Terra (Whom Eraqus might have relayed the answers too when he was secretly inhabiting Terra), Sora, Kairi(if Sora can find her), Namine (if she came back after Xehanort struck Kairi down, which she may have) and that mysterious Secret Boss which I repeat, is another Keyblade Master who fell to darkness, most likely due to Luxu's own handiwork
If you mean that Heartless boss, he was later revealed to be an entity known as Darkness who appears at the end of Kingdom Hearts Union X.
That kid was Ephemer, a major protagonist from the same game.
Xehanort and Eraqus know of the missing masters because in their youth, they were recent history to them
Xehanort knew nothing of Luxu or his history because Luxu operated from the shadows and his history stricken from the records, not to mention he had been body-hopping to achieve his goals, so his true identity would have been impossible for anyone to discern or suspect since up until this moment, he was literally the oldest living character in the series. ReMIND reaffirms Xehanort's ignorance when Luxord eavesdrops on him and learns that none of the higher ups knew of the box or its importance
If you wan to know about Xehanort's past, Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will answer those questions since he's the main protagonist

Luxu/Xigbar's eyes are still that "Xehanort yellow", even after the old coot lost. Could there still be a piece of Xehanort in Xigbar now, and he's just waiting to reappear?

The Master of Masters reveals to Luxu that there are thirteen main Darknesses and that the most powerful of them were to be placed inside himself, Luxu and the Foretellers while the other six were to enter the bodies of the five Dandelion Union Leaders and the locked inside the data Daybreak Town respectively so they could be destroyed in the future by a person with a strong heart of light.
Ava is the nameless star Fairy Godmother was talking to in the Final World.

Edit2: OK, so after understanding the last update to ux, we can now understand how not just ventus, lauriem, and the other keyblade war survivors made it to the present, but how the union masters made it back too. So what about ava? I know luxu said she had a role already and carried it out, but does that mean that she somehow came to the present on her own or some other way? Because now that luxu has the keyblade back, I assume he now has full control of who comes back from the past since according to what the master said," In order to travel through time, you must have someone with memories of you waiting on the other side, and a medium to give you a body. Luxu is the memories, and my eye is the medium". Which explains why ventus came to be founded by xehanort, he must have somehow learned that the keyblade had the ability to pull others from the past of the keyblade war. He must have done the same with the other organization members when terranort was split into a nobody and a heartless, unless luxurd (little theory I've been thinking about for a while now) is actually brain who went through the same process as luxu where he had been "playing semblances since" which is why he looks different, has a different name, and has been onto luxu for a while now. Idk, I could be wrong, I know it's a bit too bizarre or something, but I just figure i should put my thoughts on this. There were points in kh3 that got me thinking that it might have been him.

Lmao the Foretellers ain't complicated if you watch back cover and play unionX. You don't even have to play UnionX to understand them. It just puts them on a broader scale than back cover did.
Personally I am most excited to see what Maleficent has planned for Sora and the others.
This is gonna make future Kingdom Hearts installments more difficult than every data, secret, mirror, etc. boss fights. Think about it these are LEGENDARY Keyblade Masters and we will have to fight them. If we don't then what's the point of this scene?

Normally I don't do theories, but after watching this video, listening to the voices of the characters and comparing them to the ones in KH XBackcover, I came up with two theories and I just felt the need: to share them:
1. Xigbar isn't really Luxu, but the Master of Masters. At some point, the real Luxu realized what the Master's true intentions were and attempted to prevent it. The Master knew what Luxu was going to do, so he transferred his own heart into Luxu's body. That way he make sure his apprentice fulfilled his role like he was supposed to. That's probably why Luxu/Xigbar now sounds and acts like the Master.
2. Luxu is actually a clone that the Master of Masters created to serve as a new vessel for the Master's heart, so that he would remain alive long enough to watch the Keyblade War with his own eyes.
I love your theories but the master is so clear who he is, Sora. You will see it in just a bunch of moths.
