I have been disappointed with the PSVR2s (lack of) visual clarity. Red Matter 2 made me realise the hardware isnt the problem - it's just that all games prior to RM2 arent taking advantage of PSVR2s capabilities.
I specifically got the psvr2 for gt7 and have enjoyed it a lot. However, knowing how clear the headset can be after RM2, i feel wanting whenever i enter a race now.

Sony should secure this studio. This is the level of quality we want for Hybrid AAA VR First Party Sony games. And Sony should want too, if they aim to make VR mainstream.
Was thinking that myself yesterday. When someone sets a new benchmark for fidelity whilst also showing they can make a good game and not just a pretty one, invest in them.
Sony could acquire quite a few VR developers that have done well so far but they are twiddling their thumbs and letting Meta get them. It's infuriating.
Right up Sonys alley if its a 2man studio and they can churn out quality 2 games no less! Maybe have the secret to churning out VR or highly rated games with less manpower then everybody else!!
This is the first game I’ve played that shows a truly 4K-like image resolution . PSVR2 is sooooo worth it after seeing how good this game looks and plays. It legit looks crisper than any other VR game I’ve played. Can’t express how impressed i am with the visuals. Feels so real.
It looks almost as good on Quest 3, now that's what's most impressive. It's leaps and bounds better looking than everything else on the Quest 3 as well. It doesn't even look like it's running on the same hardware than the rest of the library.

Thats not saying much psvr 1 is better than meta quest 2😂. I just wish the new psvr played the all psvr titles. I have 116 vr games downloaded on my ps4 pro. They don't have enough games to make me spend another $700. I love the fact i can plug my psvr into anything and use it. Even used it as a tv for a road trip. I would not have purchased Red Matter 2 if it weren't for PSVR Without Parole. I could not believe how clear and crisp the visuals are in this game. I did not know it could get any better! Thank you and can't wait for the PS Showcase!
First time I've ever skipped directly to the score so as not to spoil anything. Been refreshing the store since around 11 waiting on the chance to get this one loaded.
Just bought this and played an hour - FANTASTIC! Really shows what the PSVR2 is capable of producing graphics wise, and the game play is just so good on this. I am super impressed. I wish this developer made more. Worth every dollar.
Just bought it on day 1. I will always support game developers who try to create realistic graphics instead of the cartoon trend we're seeing everywhere.
Just been in vr2 with this title. It's so crisp and immersive. One of the best experiences I have had on sony's headset. (I have most of the titles on the system). The music makes it feel epic 2. The hardest issue I had was not listening to the narrative to know what to do next...because I was to busy taking in all the graphics and things to play with.

Both Red Matter and Red Matter 2 are the benchmark for visual clarity on the PS VR2, just remarkable. These games show the potential for the VR2, right down to how clear text is -- that alone makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
I think the devs NAILED the limits of psvr2 in regards to polygon count, lighting, distance in environments, etc; allowing them to get a consistent high resolution. This will be one of the first games I go back to once I’m finally back to my VR headset (haven’t been able to play for a month). Good stuff!
They had done that with RM 1 on PSVR 1 too. That game still looks stunning on that headset, and everything has surfaces properties that make the game look the more realistic, even if stylized by art direction, or pretty much any PSVR1 that wasn't a first party AA title.
My left controller is broken so I can’t play. Please Sony let us buy controllers individually. I don’t want to return it because I can still play games like Thumper, Rez, walkabout, etc. So I’d rather just play those then have to wait a month to get it repaired

Great looking game. The 2nd screen pixel crud is still there, but at no fault to the game maker. Psvr 1 was new and the screen that moves around with you as you turn your head almost seemed cool. After quest 2 pancake lens I saw it was possible to have just one screen to deal with...at times it's very hard to notice with such beautiful surroundings...but it's a headset issue..at this point it may be a Sony trademark. 2028 12k headset but the pixel screen will still distort it at what seems inches from your face...village was 1st to impress me as it's a darker visual game often...The game developers get a 10/10 from me..headset reduces it to a 9/10....upside good to see switchback wasn't all the headsets fault it deserved a 6/10....i still enjoy rush of blood better.. More headsets we get the pickier some of us get. Of course pimax 12k costs $2200 so I'm pretending this is a ps4 pro VR upgrade headset....devs get a A+ and I might keep my headset due to this game...like gran turismo cars fidelity and distance things too. Turismo is way fun but I'd lol say 7.5/10 visually...
RM2 was ok. It was pretty, but I'm in the middle of playing Firmament. It's a far better game and looks stunning, as well. I recommend both, but if I had to choose, it's Firmament all day long. It should be coming to PSVR2 soon :)
Guerrilla games and Pholphony Digital hang your heads in Shame! Their naivety/Laziness making VR games has been found out!GT7 and Horizon Devs need to stop counting money and Patch their games ASAP ! Whatever usage of Dynamic Foveated Rendering they used seems to be poor or non existent in reality from the evidence so far.
I heard the combat was absolute garbage and that it's nigh-on-impossible to hit the specific weak spots on the robots to kill them. Considering this review barely showed any combat and what it did show seemed to demonstrate that exact issue perfectly. Not a single shot seemed to land and if it did, there was absolutely no feedback or response to suggest it did. Giving this a miss until I see more.
I don't know who told you that but they must suck at video games. The combat is fine. It's a little repetitive but the weak spots aren't really difficult to hit at all. I hope that helps! :D
It's just the video you see on your tv in the vr2 it self it looks much more blurry when you reviewers give us the real picture because the picture quality in the vr2 is just a downgrade, and never that sharp! That's only on you tv!!! Keep that in mind people
@@WithoutParole not that game but gran turismo and call of the horizon are very blurry no matter what I do but if you want to show people the real picture quality you have to find a way to film inside of the vr2
Very blurry? The social screen might be a little sharper than what's in the headset but "very blurry" isn't at all my experience. Plus I'll trade a little resolution for actually being inside the game any day of the week. Also it's only been 3 months since launch - people are still learning how to optimize PSVR2 games and they're looking better and better every day. Red Matter 2 is proof of that - you want a game that looks better in the headset than it does on screen! :D
Unfortunatly game has a super retarded puzzle for opening one of the doors.Part where you need code to take valve and then open that door and proceed.I checked couple walkthrougs and saw that RUclipsrs cut that part of video to solution...so i belive they lost alot of time on that crap.Unfortunatly thats a bad level design and for me 3 points from score down 🥂 Will not buy next game from this developers.
We all get stuck in different parts (and I felt pretty stupid on the solar panel puzzle) but I didn't struggle with the one you're describing at all. It happens.
They weren’t exaggerating when they said the visual clarity is the best out of every other PSVR2 game , it looks phenomenal. I’m in love.

Not sure what's going on with pokerstars though, we've got the same situation here.
Nah thanks Nek you were right I just needed to tap on the game
I need this.
Hire these guys
Can we call it an alyx competitor?
RM2 was ok. It was pretty, but I'm in the middle of playing Firmament. It's a far better game and looks stunning, as well.
I recommend both, but if I had to choose, it's Firmament all day long.
It should be coming to PSVR2 soon :)
Day 1 purchase
Red Matter 2 makes all other PSVR2 games looks like lazy work.
Bout to play this tonight
Did i just make a mistake and buy Hubris instead of this?!
Nah, both games are worth playing. And if you haven't played Red Matter 1 yet, be patient. My bet is that we'll see RM1 on PSVR2 soon too! :D
Eat your heart out Alyx
So puzzels nah
Supermassive does not like this element.

😂
Anyone else for part 3 ASAP???
Don't u guys feel wierd while playing walking VR games? 🙄 I did try and didn't feel good
It's just the video you see on your tv in the vr2 it self it looks much more blurry when you reviewers give us the real picture because the picture quality in the vr2 is just a downgrade, and never that sharp! That's only on you tv!!! Keep that in mind people
Red Matter 2 looks way better in the headset than it does on your TV. I'm guessing you haven't played it yet Randy?
Unfortunatly game has a super retarded puzzle for opening one of the doors.Part where you need code to take valve and then open that door and proceed.I checked couple walkthrougs and saw that RUclipsrs cut that part of video to solution...so i belive they lost alot of time on that crap.Unfortunatly thats a bad level design and for me 3 points from score down 🥂
Will not buy next game from this developers.
We all get stuck in different parts (and I felt pretty stupid on the solar panel puzzle) but I didn't struggle with the one you're describing at all. It happens.
@@WithoutParole yes,you are right.I menage to pass that part.
