I’ve wanted one since HK’s 2016 version of sp5k. Ever since the pdw version came out last year I’ve hunted tirelessly for one but since they are so few in production in comparison to anything else HK offers and demand is absolutely through the roof, the only reliable place to find them is going up against the shills on GB, which easily puts the final price tag $1k or $2k or even more above msrp. Finding one for the right price is near impossible right now and I’ve gotten close a couple times but wasn’t fast enough to secure it. Someday…
This is one of my most fav- FA Post samples. it is old it has issues. still one of my most favs by far.. and this video is really one of the best I have ever seen. thanks !!
Great content, as always. The MP5 is of course, one heckuva weapon. But man, are they ridiculously expensive these days, esp. given that, as this vid points out, getting one is just the beginning of being able to outfit it as a modern weapon. My dream would be that HK take the internals of the MP/SP5 and put it into a more modern chassis and release it as the MP/SP5 2.0 (or whatever). Of course, my other dream would be actually finding one for normal MSRP, which isn't going to happen any time soon by the look of things. In the meantime, dropping $4-5k (or more) for a MP/SP5 is kind of insane. Esp. when there are more modern options (B&T, Sig...) that will do everything the HK will do, and all you need to do is bolt on an optic and a light and you're ready to go, for thousands less.
Loved your G3 irons review 6 months ago, couple requests: first, you mentioned we would see a second video on the G3 shooting for speed, would love to see a follow up! Awesome, I've been looking for a light solution. Thanks you. I personally went with a Saftey Harbor KES stock and went from the RDS setup shown here to ditching the irons for a M8 RMR rear sight base with a Holosun pistol RDS. Gotta have my HK slap!

There was an MP5 in 22lr at my gunstore for about a month and I swear I went in there every other day for the HK slap while buying other stuff. Feels so great smacking the bolt closed 🤣
I went with an extremely similar setup to this on my SP5K, B&T telescopic, and midwest HG, but used Samson (short) VG and Surefire M640DF I wanted my light head to hang further forward to have less suppressor shadowing... so far so good, love this setup. Still doing a little testing on what optic I'm gonna use for it. Thanks for the great content and inspiration!
Great video. I wonder 2 things. 1. What if the mount scooted the optic rearward by about a 1/2 inch? 2. What if you rotated the cocking handle slot upward a hair and then cut the locking slot downward instead of upwards?
For 10 years I owned an HK MP5 that started out life as an HK 94 but was professionally converted with an auto sear to a standard HK MP 5 configuration, I had both the fixed as well as the telescoping stock . I had added an AWC MK 9 suppressor. This gun shot flawlessly and I routinely could hold groups that could be covered with the end of a soft drink can at 25 yards. It was a transferable weapon and I had planned to relocate to a non NFA state. The MP5 makes sense for people in clandestine situations but with all of the add ons it seems like a bulky weapon to carry under a suit jacket and/ or topcoat. Maybe not. All I know is that the MP 5 is an outstanding weapon and is extremely reliable.
Great video, thank you for posting! I find these in depth historical videos to be some of your best content. I'd love to see one on the full size MP5 next 🤞. But remember even if you put tape on a Holosun, it still remains a Holosun @18:10 lol
beautiful. Want one badly. I still think that mag-in-the-grip architecture - Uzi, B&T - is better for this type of super-compact arm. With red dots, there's no need to extend the PDW any longer than a typical 9mm pistol. I don't see what's gained.
Great Video as always! Where the MP5K is prioritizing compactness and concealability, I'm wondering if the "Cheep Pistol Concept" from the Demonstrated Concepts RUclips Channel (and also demonstrated by Ian on Forgotten Weapons), used on the CP33 and TP9 could be applicable to the MP5K. Perhaps a riser mount and bracing on the cheek would be feasible? Or maybe the drum sight, rail space, or weight would get in the way. In any case, does 9-Hole have any interest in the cheek pistol concept for a future video?
Yeah, makes sense that a suppressor would change the rate of fire since the blowback is different. But thinking about it, even a stock should affect the rate of fire to some degree. ( I think that's what they mentioning as well). In the first extreme, we have a gun with is fixed in place and can't move backwards. Thus, all the energy from the blowback is put into accelerating the bolt backwards and no energy is lost in accelerating the gun itself backwards.(It's rigid, it can't move) Thus the bolt travels back more quickly, higher RPM. In the other extreme, let's assume the gun is free floating. In this case, the blowback will accelerate the bolt backward but a lot of energy is also "lost" accelerating the gun itself back. It's just a matter of friction between bolt and gun and how much momentum is needed to accelerate the gun... In reality, shooting a gun with a stock will be closer to the first extreme case. And shooting a gun without a stock is closer to the second. (Since the gun can move with less "resistance" without a stock) The difference is likely very small but it should exist. This is interesting to me mainly because it's similar to other physical systems, for instance musical (acoustic and electric) instruments. In musical instruments, the resonance (i.e. frequency) (of strings or the instrument's body / corpus) is often determined by how much mass is resonating and ho much tension is in a system. For stringed instruments, allowing the ends of the string to move would have a similar effect to the frequency of the instrument than allowing the gun to move w/o a stock. Obviously those things don't behave identical, but in theory they're based on the same interactions between mass, spring tension, energy loss and so on.
25:58 i did the same with a F88 (AUG Steyr) in the Australia army with the steyr i would use my palm bigger surface area less likely to miss when reloading on the move etc.. also some of the guns were old and stiff and it worked much better with them aswell. after many hours unloading reloading i found it to be the best way.
I originally got a holosun ACSS red dot for my SP5, but ended up switching it out for a standard red dot. I love ACSS optics, but I was not a fan of the sight picture when combined with the full HK hood. It was just a little bit too much for me lol.
I wanna point out in regards to reloading with an optic mounted (25:35) that *technically speaking* you don't need to lock the bolt open and then perform a reload. What I've done with my scoped G3 is that, when the gun is empty, I just load a new mag and then pull the charging handle all the way back. Technically of course this could POTENTIALLY lead to a short-stroke of the charging handle, meaning a round won't be chambered, but I feel like with how light the charging handle on the MP5 is, that's really not a huge issue. Still, love the video and it's incredibly informative! Love it!
Thank you for this very well made and very informative video. And finally sombody who knows how Heckler und Koch is pronounced like it should be. If Othias ever gets WWI weapons done, they will have a hard time to top this video in information density and quality. Welcome to C&Rsenal Primer teritory.
The only way to use MP5K is to get two of them, say "I am the scales of justice! The conductor of the choir of death! Sing, Brother Heckler! Sing, Brother Koch! Sing, brothers! Sing! SING!!!", then fire blindly to your front. Also best used in conjunction with two AK-74s
Got a Flush barrel K. Binary trigger. Back and forth about PDW trilug barrel swap. Sling mounting, optics, HK slap learning curve over full size MP5. Less is better when setting up the K.

As I mentioned, I like the holosun, but i don't like the that they put a big logo on the side. I do the same to my EoTech.
beautiful. Want one badly.
I still think that mag-in-the-grip architecture - Uzi, B&T - is better for this type of super-compact arm. With red dots, there's no need to extend the PDW any longer than a typical 9mm pistol. I don't see what's gained.
That late night infomercial for the Arisaka.👍👍 😁
😁
That is a slick package you put together.
Awesome! Keep 'em coming! Maybe a Farrow Tech low RMR mount to clear up the charging handle interference?
If the Newsletter links it, they will come.

Looked up the b&t stock and all I gotta say is sheeeeesh
25:58 i did the same with a F88 (AUG Steyr) in the Australia army with the steyr i would use my palm bigger surface area less likely to miss when reloading on the move etc.. also some of the guns were old and stiff and it worked much better with them aswell.
after many hours unloading reloading i found it to be the best way.
It was meant to be, my mp5 is due to arrive today🙌🏻 Great video 💪🏻
This channel is top quality with it's content.
Cool video, I have always wanted a MP5k..
Love it!
There is a problem loading a full 30 round magazine with the bolt closed. If you download it to 29 it works but at 30 it is very difficult
i'm always suprised how good your german is
9hole Gents,
Well done!
1 of your best vids todate
Can't wait for the AKS74U PDW video!
A very interesting and well done video. Full of content! Thank you.
Such a high quality channel. H&K. Emphasis on the K🤤🤤
Got a Flush barrel K. Binary trigger. Back and forth about PDW trilug barrel swap. Sling mounting, optics, HK slap learning curve over full size MP5. Less is better when setting up the K.
I’m a simple man, I see a 9-Hole Reviews video and I hit the like button
Thank you for this video. Very informative and applicable.
Power Glove with old operator footage is a pretty good match
Hey fellas, just found your channel. I'm really enjoying your content, keep up the good work. You have a new fan for sure!
Welcome, Evan!
