I remember getting one from Kay Bee Toys super cheap before they went out of business and even at that price I still felt ripped off.

I remember seeing the gamecom at Target hanging in the toy section. I thought it was interesting, it had internet and had duke nuke em. But I wondered why it wasn't locked behind the glass casing that other games and systems were. I concluded it was some sort of knock off that didn't take it's advertising serious. And sure enough, it was crap.
It was so bad target was praying people would steal it so they could write it off lol
The only thing I remember was that this got so cheap that my parents bought me one lol I was grateful to receive it.
I remember those Tiger handhelds as a kid that grew up in the 90s. And I also remember that Gamecom. Tiger actually tried to compete with Nintendo.
When I was a lad I had the simons quest tiger hand held. It sucked but I loved Castlevania so much I had to have it.
I can't believe this product was even shipped at all.

I had the original model, it had a horrible screen where you could barely see the dark, blurry graphics. Didn't keep it for long so I can't even remember what games I got for it.
I had one , had close to 10 games for it, just sold it a few months back bc the screen went bad . Sold it all for 130 bucks
Also it seems like they sped up footage when showing off the games (in the commercial you can see sonic going really fast) so it has a layer of faulse marketing
I grew up in that era of Tiger hand held and not once i had an interest on buying their crap.

I kinda wanted one back in the day, and still kinda want one just for the collection. It was because of their incessant ads in all Hasbro products that made me interested in it and all the interesting things like the touchscreen and the internet cart. Then I didn't see anything else from them. I actually never saw it in stores, or at least never saw it anywhere I looked.
I wouldn't get one they are trash they break very easily i bought one back in the day and it was the older model one it stopped working in 2 weeks i had the tiger company send me three replacements and they were all broken yet they were factory sealed brand new.They consoles are not even worth a penny.

Gotta love ads from the 1990s, anything marketed to kids had to be full of 90s "attitude", or in this case pathetically trying to have it and just being mega cringy as a result
4My first console I still own is the Dungeons and Dragons Handheld from 1981 or some date close to that. I likely shed tears to get my mom to buy that from Toys R Us back then for a whopping 80-90$ back then. SMFH! After that in 1988, I got my NES. in 1990, I got the Gameboy and was impressed by the stereo sounds of the first Mario game on it. Never have dropped a dime on "Tiger", and likely never will.
I had the original model, like the one held in the TV commercial. No backlighting and hard to read. I wanted it because I didn’t know where else you could get PORTABLE Duke Nukem. lol
I had a tiger touchscreen game with batman cartridge and others, it was all right but black and white screen and not many game's were out for it. The green screen Gameboy with dot matrix and stereo sound was my favourite of all the Gameboys ever and handhelds.

Raspberry Pi in there, replace the screen and BAM! - decent retro emulation handheld.
So did they even upgrade/fix the screen at all on the second version shown in the video (pocket pro) ?
It was odd Tiger.gamecom was like this,
as the gamegear came out in the early 90's,
so tiger was being cheap and outdated
as gameboy color was out too, so tiger got nothing to hold them up.
If they had another company or like a 3rd party (if it's capcom, sega or even acclaim) that can help them to improve console and games,
like people who can make a console just like the game gear or even like a good gameboy clone with some colors,
and making the games decent too, it might been a decent portable console.

That’s one of those systems I probably would have tracked down a couple years ago when I still collected random garbage because it was quirky. It probably would ha e wound up like my R-Zone; buried in my closet.
I was given one of these horrors 20 years ago. In a word yuck.
Lights Out was pretty darn fun, tbh.
I remember a specific handheld for lights out, with a ton of buttons. That was fun.

I still have two of these, one sealed, and a bunch of games. Haven't touched it in years. Need to dig it out and see if it is still as bad as I remember. lol
I got this as a kid. I played wheel of fortune, wheel of fortune 2, some indy racing game, and solitaire. It wasn't bad for the wheel and solitaire, but the racing game was hard to play.

Wasn't even aware/didn't remember being aware of this thing until video game nerds started making fun of it years later.
I had 2 gamecoms. 1 was the backlight pocket version. I had all the games. Clearance at kb toys & toys r us for cheap. The screen sucked on both units. The emulator fixes the screen issue but exposes the crap gameplay. I kinda liked Duke Nukem and Resident Evil. 🤷🏻♀️ Rock on 🤘

When you’d rather play an original LCD Tiger game versus this thing. I mean I use to get a solid 15 minutes of entertainment out of baseball. This thing would have gone through a window.
