PlayStation no longer feels Japanese is the wildest but most accurate statement this year. As a 43yr old gamer I can't explain why this is so accurate. But it really is.
@@johansvensson833 Exactly this. Japan moved on to mobile gaming (it's like, over 80% of the market there now), so console gaming there, besides Nintendo and a couple PS games here and there, is basically dying. They still make games of course, more so than any other country most likely, but they're marketing them more and more towards the Western/Chinese markets. Mobile gaming is unfortunately killing the other branches, due to accessibility/being mostly F2P + gaming being 'far' more mainstream now than in the 90s... so, there's loads of money in it.
They moved to LA and became American Political. And no I'm not bashing as some conservative right wing man. What I mean is the worse thing gaming became is political agenda to fit American issues and not the world. Final Fantasy Tactics tackled Politics/Religion back in the 90's but did it right. Today it's more Los Angeles movie pushing gaming agenda and that's wrong. Sony used to have balls but they're gone. PS1 will always be to me their best console. It combined SNES/Genesis into one console of great attitude like Sega and RPG slow like Super. PS2 sold so much due to DVD player and broken lies claiming it would be like 1 million times more powerful than Dreamcast which was a crock. I haven't touched Sony outside of getting the Vita since the PS2 days. PC gaming has been where it's at for me since 2003 outside of getting Nintendo stuff. I rather play Atari 2600 games over modern. Even Nintendo has been slipping. Sad.
These games are the direct result of living corporate lies. The amount of circle jerks needed to propel this crap to the finish line has got to be uncountable
@@CuttinInIdaho this is what happens when instead of focusing on making great games that are fun, you are more focused on making games with predatory microtransactions geared towards a specific brain dead audience.
This is why over the last few years, I've just been making emulation machines for myself and my kids... We are set, literally thousands of games all setup nicely...
I completely relate to your sentiment, i've barely touch my consoles this generation. PC and Nintendo are my preferred methods, add steam deck as well and that really changed the game.
I have not bought a console for over 10 years now. Last one was xbox360 and PS3... o wait.... that is almost 20 years now since their release dates. The Switch is at least a handheld and my kids enjoy it so I have 3 of those things but I hate them. I know just use a switch emulator as it does not kick me off a game because someone else started playing another game on my account. Yep... I started a game one day and it kicked my child off a different game on a different console.
i disagree , Free to play Live service games have nothing to do with the gaming being down bad. in fact they don't even take a big portion of gaming as a whole and you are not forced to play them and most of them are locked to Mobile phones anyway. there are also not Free Liveservice games that are successful , be it WoW or FF14 or Runescape , etc etc so this statement about the problem not being console games but rather free to play live service games is just straight out false and comes more out of personal hatred for a specific style of gaming rather than an objective problem.
@@leorelic i have a young teen at home, for the past three years he has only played Fortnite and the occasional other free to play shooter to try them out. Buy he always goes back to Fortnite. Why? Because all of his friends can play this game as well, for free. None of these teens have any interest to buy any game, proof is again in Fortnite which was supposed to be a paid game (save the world) with the battle royale mode being a teaser for the rest of the game. None of the teens have bought this mode. WoW and ff14 have been around for years, they have a somewhat steady player base who also don't venture out in other games which they have to buy because they pay a subscription to one game. Now going back to free to play games, big companies see the money those games make and all want in, that's why the market is being flooded with free shooters and less money being available for other games
Don't forget fake gamer influencers acting as the voices and faces of the gaming community for financial gain and trendy association. I doubt 90 percent of these popular game related RUclipsrs who were old enough during any part of what's considered "golden age' were gaming or would actually be caught dead in a game store (especially most of the female content creators). Influencers have ruined It just as much as greed on the dev/corporate side.
Which actually aren't "free to play". There are ONLY TWO types of games that are truly free to play: emulator roms and emulator isos. Assume ALL other types of free to play games are Gacha games, because the companies that make these so-called free to play games have an even scummier way of making their money back.
Console games have a huge time commitment involved. That's why I like Arcade games...10-20 mins and you get your fix. Then there high score chasing too 👾
I agree. I've been playing shmups recently using a VESA mounted monitor (for TATE) and a Hori RAP 4 that I originally got as a jank item for 90 USD and modded with Noir layout, a full collar custom K lever and modded Gamerfinger buttons
I’m glad to see this game fail, I too have been saying for a long time to bring back Socom and other old IPs. Then again I don’t pay for PS plus because I can still play PS2 and PS3 games online FOR FREE. Why should I have to pay for that now?? I don’t understand how people can afford to pay for games, console, ISP and PS Plus.
The “all-digital future” is not the way to go. Neither is the focus on social-political issues ham fisted into games that override the focus on making a game fun, not preachy and accusatory.
Was a console gamer since the late 70's too. Started with Atari 2600. The Ps4 was my last console. I switched over to pc gaming. Better in almost every way. Playstation stopped being Playstation when they moved the hq out of Japan and into California in 2016. That's when it began, and they began shifting their demographic to more western style, AAA movie style gaming.
@@badboy-gn8fu Gaming on STEAM for Linux with Proton, and Lutris makes it really easy to get a lot of games up, and running, so don't feel Nintendo, and Windows are your only options.
They began that demographic shift during the 7th gen HD "cinematic/interactive movie" era of gaming and push in that direction starting around the time the first Uncharted came out in 2007. I still liked the first 2 or 3 early years of 7th gen though , the negative effects of this push didn't really start to come to fruition till the later half of 7th gen - present.
The American branch's _entertainment_ headquarters have been located in California since 1993, originally under the name "Sony Computer Entertainment", renamed "Sony Interactive Entertainment" in 2016.
@@blast_processing6577 On January 26, 2016, Sony announced the reorganization and integration of Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Entertainment Network International, establishing a new company called Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (SIE) on April 1, 2016, under the umbrella of Sony Corporation of America. Unlike the former SCE, SIE is headquartered in San Mateo, California, and oversees the entire PlayStation brand, regional subsidiaries, and content business - this is what I am referring to.
Microsoft and Sony used to be cool once. They cared about us and released good games. Especially compared to EA, but now they're both turning turning into EA themselves.
Mad, I don't believe the industry is going to survive. I believe we are seeing the beginning of the great video game crash. It's coming, my friend, and like you, I am prepared for it. I have a backlog of newer games that will last me literal years, and then there is the retro stuff. Addendum- From the time Sony entered into the video game industry, I have been there. I was there when Microsoft launched the original Xbox as well. I have never missed a Playstation or Xbox launch since their inception. I am not buying a PS5PRO or Xbox Series XSX1SXS2 or whatever they're going to call it. Unless some drastic changes are made, I will sit on our launch Series X and PS5 until it all comes crashing down.
I’ve gone back to buying and playing PS3 and Xbox 360 games again, and they have a great library that the current gen is missing and that people might have forgotten. There’s a reason that we are slowly seeing prices on Xbox 360 games going up.
You know.... my brother when he was in his younger teens a few years ago had a really bad run in with Sony. He was an absolute Sony Boy through and through. He also had an X-Box 360 but his major passion was the Playstation, or in this case the Playstation 4. I can remember years ago when I had a Playstation 3 and I had Call of Duty on there, and heck I didn't even play the darned game, rather my little brother did. He just.... had a knack for 3rd person shooters like I had never seen before. He was really good at those types of games. I saw that through and through. Well a few years later he had a Playstation 4, and he was just creaming the other players. I can tell you up and down as a young teenager he was just that good. He had spent hours upon hours on this particular game and to this day I can't remember what the name of the game was, and.... he spent money on this game, ya know? The DLC's were crazy on this game and he just loved this game. One night as he was playing there was a younger person online just talking smack like nobodies business and my brother kept wiping him out. The kid got more vile, and in the end he left the game. The next day we came to find out that this young person had claimed that my brother was using racial slurs during the game (which he just would not do in any capacity, he's just not that way) and this young person made that accusation and Sony canceled my brother's account on that game. They deleted EVERYTHING he had on that game as well. You know what? My kid brother did the honorable thing.... he placed his controller up and disconnected his Playstation 4 and said... "Yeah I'm not going to feed into this,". He instead bought a computer and now he games online in forums that just consist of his friends. The accusation was completely false, but all Sony needed was an accusation to cancel my Brother's account. Unbelievable. When it comes to Woke gamers we need to keep in mind to keep them off the platforms because all it takes is an accusation for Sony to pull the plug on the one being accused. It's a crazy world out there. The gaming industry is definitely taking a turn for the worst. I use emulation myself for older games as I grew up with quite a few generations going all the way back to the NES. I personally don't do online gaming after that incident and I just keep in mind the cancel culture today when it comes to online gaming. So.... if that's what it's coming to I won't be buying the newer systems. To me it's not worth it.
Buying a XSX and PS5 might've been the biggest waste of $1000 I've ever spent... 95% of what I play on the Xbox is backwards compatible titles, and the ONLY things worthwhile on the PS5 have been HD remakes of older titles as well!
Honestly, for that much, a pc (or upgrade to extant pc) seems better value. Or some fancy eurorack modules with microprocessors in them, if yer looking for niche gear.
@@CatFish107 Absolutely my thought as well. At this point I have *zero* intention of purchasing a "Playstation 6" or "X-Xbox Series X Mode X Version XX". "Console exclusives" are simply a thing of the past at this point, and I get FAR more performance for my dollar by upgrading the gaming PC I already own.
Absolutely agree! I left the PC scene with the OG Xbox due to the fact it would ‘just work’ without stuffing around. Now days with complications and updates etc, I have just gone back to the PC as the benefit of the console is no longer there. I like my switch for the ‘no stuffing around’ aspect.
Yep. Big part of the appeal of evercade for me too. Yeah, I could figure out how to pirate without virus, and set up emulators, and spend 800 hours learning settings and setup and configurations, or I could buy this super pocket and vs r for not a lot, and get compilation carts for 30 bux Canadian, and it works great.
? Switch games have updates and dlc, too. You CAN actually run games from the cart on Switch vs a forced install of the disc on PS4/5 and XB1/XBSX. Switch games only install a launcher for carts + downloaded updates + dlc. Lots of big publishers cheap out on carts and force large downloads on Switch, however. You're really carrying alot of water for Nintendo, here.
RGT85 thinks we're in the middle of a crash, and I tend to agree with him. Budgets are way over-bloated. You've got corporate shills making games for shareholders and audiences they think exist but don't. Games take so long to make that by the time they come out you've moved on and/or don't care anymore and/or it's no longer the game you hoped it would be. I haven't changed as a gamer, but the industry has, and the industry has changed for the worse. There is a bright spot, though. Nintendo seems to still get it. Indie games is where it's at. I bought a Steam Deck about a year ago and that thing has been awesome. I don't play AAA games from big publishers anymore (unless you count Focus, those guys have been killin' it). Hopefully, the industry resets itself, and publishers like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft go the way of the do do, and these Indie Developers and AA studios are what remains because they're actually giving gamers what they want, and not what these damn shareholders think they can get away with making.
sure, they would release a new console 3 or 4 add-ons and then promptly abandon the project 18 months later with just a handful of shovelware games... SEGA!
@@badboy-gn8fu Agreed, as long as SEGA puts their stuff on Nintendo, and STEAM without charging a kidney to play it, they will be fine, no need for them to risk the company again on a hardware gamble when even MS has said Xbox hardware might not last a couple more generations at most as they go the Apple route trying to push ARM based laptops, and game streaming.
I've felt like this ever since I got a steam deck. I never was a pc gamer aside from dabbling in some games I'd get dirt cheap on a steam sale. I have PS5 XSX and a switch. The way these modern consoles feel today I might have well been a pc gamer since they all play the same thing except the switch. I didn't bother messing with switch emulators on the deck but if I did I probably wouldn't need the switch.
I remember 1983 and I'll remember 2024+. I don't care as retro gaming is all I care for anyhow. Unlike the 1st video game crash, there will be nothing new nor interesting to save the industry from the 2nd time coming, over 40 years coming in advance here.
I find myself playing games less and less the more I age. I’ll go thru my catalog of PS5 games and end up playing a couple rounds of Rocket League and then call it a day. As a kid, I would play 16-18 hours of SOCOM 2 on the PS2. Those were the days!

Got an Analogue Pocket dock on my bed room tv. Every weekend I work through an NES game, using save states. I’m about to finish Festers Quest this weekend! It’s hard as nails, but a turbo button and save states makes it quality of life.
I just picked up a Pocket myself last week, loaded it up with GBA/NES/SNES roms and I'm going to track down a few cheap GBA carts for shits and giggles. The modern gaming industry has pushed me to the past.

It's crazy the turn around for Nintendo. They were still doing okay with the 3DS but the Wii U and that entire generation was so pitiful. Now they're literally on top of the world. They're releasing software month after month like it's nothing. This is what focusing on less powerful tech and having a leader like Shina Takahashi does for the software lineup. You got Phil Spencer and Jim Ryan that fumbled so badly with software output. And now we'll see what Hermen Hulst will do. But I look forward to the Switch 2. Nintendo, to me, is the only one who still gets why gaming is fun.
Spot on. People want games. Nintendo makes games. The other companies make movies mixed in with political propaganda. Throw some unwanted DEI and boom we have modern gaming. Nintendo doesn't have any of that crap and if it does it isn't forced. Fire Emblem comes to mind but that's completely a choice you make.
PlayStation indeed doesn’t feel like PlayStation anymore. I was playing Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Gex, Rayman, and Metal Gear Solid back in the day, where I felt like their innovation was there. It’s sad now, the games don’t have really any soul in them. It’s a good thing, PlayStation’s greatest hits live on modern consoles. I’ve been playing Klonoa: Door to Phantomile on Switch, that’s been a better time than that unoriginal game, Concord. I wasn’t playing these games for the pretty graphics, I was playing these because I was having fun, which has been missing in modern gaming, not just from Sony, but Microsoft too. The Switch has consistently been great about gameplay, though certain games don’t run well on it, but I take the value of my time spent on the games rather than the quantity that most companies have been pumping out.
To close Japan Studio was a terrible move for Sony. It's not all about the money but also about the identity and character of the system. Nintendo excels in this matter, while Microsoft probably never had it and they've been struggling to find it's own identity. Sony had so many interesting stuff that's been abandoned in a series of awful choices. Also... Seriously... Killing Japan Studio only for The Last Guardian is absurd...
its the same error they did with cinemas and movies. they were so occupied to lock out out of copying or pirating their content that they forgot to make stuff worth watching or pirating. Nowadays they are focused to hook people into monthly payments and microtransactions so much that they forgot to make the damn thing fun
Xbox is going the way of Sega I feel. I have a Series S that I occasionally use to game with and my wife has a ps5 that she occasionally uses too, but down the road I can see us keeping our Nintendo Switch because it revolves around couch co-op more which makes it more desirable.
The thing is that the AAA market crashed, they just didn't announce it. What we have now is a whole lot of beef that looks like Wagyu but smells and tastes like it's been sitting out. In other words, all of the creatives are gone and what's left over are a bunch of propaganda influenced hourly workers that have about as much passion and talent as Walmart greeters. These are not the same companies anymore, they just retained the names so that they could be strip mined without people catching on too quickly.
Huge PlayStation fan since PS1 here. Sony f’d up big time in several ways. 1. Move to California equals woke garbage management 2. Stopped doing E3/Playstation Experience equalled loss of fandom. 3. Closure of Japan Studio meant loss of consistent high quality/unique releases. 4. Focus on live service instead of letting their developers focus on what they’re truly passionate about. Sony is riding on the coattails and success of the PS4 generation. If Nintendo releases a powerful enough Switch 2, people will not buy a PS6 and instead stick with Nintendo and PC. They’ll be done.

I'm fed up with of how out of touch modern gaming is. We no longer have these game libraries that PS1/PS2 had. So I finally just said screw it and ordered myself one of those Anbernic RG40XX V retro handhelds. So i can have a way to play a library of retro games. So i can Reconnect with those aspects of video games i grew up loving. I should have done this sooner.
Keep in mind, there is a part of Xbox gaming that IS PC gaming. I just hope they keep making most of the xbox games available on PC. Ultimately, If the Xbox dies, there will still be PC's.
Honestly the best games coming out are on steam. Console gaming is so boring now. Blackrock got their money involved and injected DEI into it and it's over.
Sadly Xbox games on PC are not even highlights. I say sadly because Xbox got so many awesome studios, after that xbox did, at best, mid tier games out of those studios (closing without doing nothing at worst).
Been feeling this way the last few years. I've already decided the PS5 and Series X will be my last consoles from Sony and Microsoft respectively. Don't know about Nintendo yet. I'm good with just playing older games the rest of my life + PC.
This has been a long time coming. Nintendo is the only major company left that still make video games. Everyone else is either jumping on the "live service" trend or making movie narrative type games that offer up crap gameplay. I don't want ultra expensive game productions that spend millions upon millions of dollars on photo realistic fluff and absurd amounts of voice acting. I don't want games that are filled with hundreds of hours worth of time wasting bloat. I want good gameplay and interactivity. No stupid quicktime events or simplistic button presses resulting in drawn out take down animations. I want the technology used to innovate, not just make the game look better. This is what Nintendo does better, on more limited hardware no less, than any other company using significantly more capable tech. The best platform this generation with the best games by far has been the Switch. Microsoft, Sony, and the PC simply can't compare.
It's mostly So. Cal. that has ruined a lot of things, but thankfully it seems more people, and companies are waking up to this, and are leaving that hell hole, which is great as long as they don't bring their baggage with them that caused it in the first place.

I doubt Valve with STEAM is going anywhere anytime soon, as they just keep printing money hand over fist, and have been investing into open source Linux with hardware like the STEAM deck, and their own Arch based Linux distro that's going to be released on other hardware as well, as Gabe saw the writing on the wall for MS, and Windows a long time ago.
Funny thing is, Sony are the ones who started that trend. The Last of Us was a PS3 game, also remastered on PS4, and while this was backwards compatible with the PS5, they remade it for PS5 anyway. God of War 3 remastered on PS4 was a remastered PS3 game at a AAA price and people ate it up too. Ratchet and Clank 2016 remake was a remake with downgrades to the character development. Gran Turismo 1 AND 2 were remade for the PSP in the very next generation after GT 3 and 4 came out. etc. Nintendo aren't the first, nor the worst for this.
3:15 the problem is that this is the modern - wall street / investors heavily backed era, and although all those amazing, highly rated games were successful, they don't come even close to the kind of revenue that live service games provide. And that's all that matters to modern era big gaming companies. Maximum profits. Theres a channel called pirate software, and the guy has a story that is a perfect example of this. The guy worked on a highly rated traditional game from Blizzard, and although very well rated and successful - Blizzard made way more money FROM A HORSE MICROTRANSACTION in World Of Warcraft. Let that sink in. That is why modern Sony closed all the studios that made them who they are, and only left the studios that release mainstream AAAA games or live service games. Its all about profits, and nothing else, no balance, no in-between. If it doesn't bring gazillions of dollars in profits, it wont be made. They don't care.
I blame Sony the most for the state of modern gaming. The PS2 sold 10 to 1 to its single launch game because it was a cheap DVD player, the PSP, as amazing as it was, was marketed as a multimedia device first and foremost, and a games console second. That casual "everything box" approach started with Sony, then when that non-gaming corporation made it, Microsoft, another non-gaming corporation, jumped it and the dedicated games companies SEGA and Nintendo took a backseat. And we share that backseat so the shareholders can sit up front for the big corporations.

Japan Studios made that, and Sony made them pack their bags and go. We're about as likely to see a new Ape Escape as we are to see an Atari Jaguar successor.
It can't make all that microtransaction money, so little surprise. More and more we're seeing if a game can't bring in massive profits through that, big publishers won't fund them. Those smaller games are disappearing from the largest publishers.
I get more excited about the new Atari releases than anything Sony and Microsft announces. ‘True’ console gaming, in my opinion, died with Xbox 360 and PS3. Nintendo systems, retro, and PC is where it’s at now.
Totally agree, i have been gaming since 1990, and i feel lack of talent & forced DEI destroyed most gaming probably since 2016-18 onwards. Switch is my last bastion, and games like 'Shadow of the ninja Reborn' my hope.

PS5 and Series X killed all my hype for console gaming. It’s what lead me to purchasing a Steam Deck. Now I own two handheld PC’s and I plan to jump completely over to PC gaming now.
This is so accurate. I now have a high-end PC in the living room as well as a Nintendo Switch. As a family we play both; Nintendo gives us the really awesome family games (and Mario) and the PC gives us lots of the indie stuff and the AAA's at a fraction of the price (albeit a bigger upfront cost) compared to the consoles. Steam Big Picture mode and Big Box (Launchbox Front End) are amazing. The few exclusives on the PlayStation aren't worth it and everything else is available on the PC (as well as emulators right up to PS4 era).
I remember getting the PS1 and Saturn at the same time and that was the best time for gaming. I was importing games since the mid 90's and it was so much fun. You had a mix of new games and with some of the Japanese imports, they were adding those old school compilations like Gradius and those Capcom generations compilations were so much fun to me. I have not bought a PS5 nor any XBOX Series system. It does not feel like gaming...and I have been gaming since the 70s. My Switch and older consoles get more play than anything else I own.
I have my collection of pc games nes snes sega Xbox/360 and I won’t part with none of it. ❤ happy gamer. And my offline windows XP computer no adds lol 😂

Now I'm very picky with what i buy , if the game isn't 100% physical on disk or has any woke ageda bs in it i don't spend any money anymore on newer games. I'll never buy or waste my time either with online only nonsense where they control everything you do when your just trying to enjoy your game .
I always thought Nintendo was dropping the ball with every system release since the 64. Turns out they’re playing that 4D chess. I think they will be the only company making physical consoles into the future. I feel like everyone else will be some sort of streaming service

PlayStation no longer feels Japanese is the wildest but most accurate statement this year.
As a 43yr old gamer I can't explain why this is so accurate. But it really is.
becuse in japan the do not play consoles anymore
It’s not wild, it’s been true for years.
@johansvensson833 what are they doing now? We need answers, so I can start doing it tomorrow. 🤣👍🏿
Sad.

This is why I'm primarily a PC gamer now, but I still love my Nintendo Switch consoles.
As a PC gamer, I'm the same and still playing the 3ds also.
The Steam Deck is now my favourite device. I'm primarily using it as a media centre for gaming and as a basic computer for watching videos/movies.
There is only one problem and it's not so much console games. Free to play live service games are the real downfall of gaming.
i disagree , Free to play Live service games have nothing to do with the gaming being down bad. in fact they don't even take a big portion of gaming as a whole and you are not forced to play them and most of them are locked to Mobile phones anyway.
there are also not Free Liveservice games that are successful , be it WoW or FF14 or Runescape , etc etc so this statement about the problem not being console games but rather free to play live service games is just straight out false and comes more out of personal hatred for a specific style of gaming rather than an objective problem.
@@leorelic i have a young teen at home, for the past three years he has only played Fortnite and the occasional other free to play shooter to try them out. Buy he always goes back to Fortnite. Why? None of the teens have bought this mode. WoW and ff14 have been around for years, they have a somewhat steady player base who also don't venture out in other games which they have to buy because they pay a subscription to one game. Now going back to free to play games, big companies see the money those games make and all want in, that's why the market is being flooded with free shooters and less money being available for other games

@@TexasHollowEarth Actually not because generally games and especially updates are much smaller than on the other consoles. Far less of a hassle.
Once I got my handheld PC, it turned PC gaming into a console. It became the primary system, especially with the variety of games it has and VR.

Retro gaming FTW! We are sick of this AAA money graber games, thats why we look back to our beloved retro games, more simple life.
Unlike the 1st video game crash, there will be nothing new nor interesting to save the industry from the 2nd time coming, over 40 years coming in advance here.
video games have become too corporate. when they made video games back in 80s and 90s they did it w/passion. now it's just being made for profit.
I find myself playing games less and less the more I age. I’ll go thru my catalog of PS5 games and end up playing a couple rounds of Rocket League and then call it a day. As a kid, I would play 16-18 hours of SOCOM 2 on the PS2. Those were the days!

Nintendo fans wants gameplay not graphical fidelity.
If it can't be played offline, it doesn't exist.
Well said.
Huge PlayStation fan since PS1 here. Sony f’d up big time in several ways.
1. Move to California equals woke garbage management

PC and its bad ports.
Some day corporations will realize that a modern audience is a very small piece of their customer base.
My PS5 has been collecting dust since Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, and Hogwarts. That was all.

It's mostly So. Cal. that has ruined a lot of things, but thankfully it seems more people, and companies are waking up to this, and are leaving that hell hole, which is great as long as they don't bring their baggage with them that caused it in the first place.

It's not a crash so much an adjustment. The bubble is popping and all the over priced slop is failing. The market will adjust
I have a large collection of Japanese games, I have gone back to playing them.
The funny thing is that the OG Xbox feels more Japanese than Sony now.
Concord came and went at supersonic speed.
The only reason I bought a current gen console (Ps5) is because my Ps4 bit the dust and I still wanted to play my downloaded ps4 library. The only current Gen game I've bought is MK1 and I was kinda disappointed in it. (and I'm a huge MK fan all the way back to the OG) I haven't been excited for any other current releases so far....
2017, SONY moved their PlayStation division from Tokyo Japan to California America.
That is where the rot started.

ive been thinking and saying all this for years. you hit the mark exactly the gaming industry is doomed. nintendo will be the only one left standing
Hi Ron I can't wait for your black Friday list this year I'm getting astro bot tommow. I don't buy alot as I use too I agree
Something Sony could learn from Nintendo is just remake classic Sony games and people will buy it up. They don't even have to come up with a new idea.
i'll doubt Sony will do that bc they are too infested w/woke weirdos
They don't care.
video gaming industry have become too corporate. there is no passion anymore, just profits.
Once the private equity jews take over they suck the life out of the industry.
At this point From Software should just come out with a console
I blame Sony the most for the state of modern gaming.
The PS2 sold 10 to 1 to its single launch game because it was a cheap DVD player, the PSP, as amazing as it was, was marketed as a multimedia device first and foremost, and a games console second. That casual "everything box" approach started with Sony, then when that non-gaming corporation made it, Microsoft, another non-gaming corporation, jumped it and the dedicated games companies SEGA and Nintendo took a backseat. And we share that backseat so the shareholders can sit up front for the big corporations.
Nintendo switch is the only console thats making brilliant games ❤
Nah . They have crappy games too lol.
@@markofthewolvessucks8930 you don't need 12 patches to play a switch game 😁 you do on the ps5 and what about concord $600 million spent on that game and it still sucks 😍 lasted 11 days 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 and took 8 years to make 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@markofthewolvessucks8930 Nintendo still make games for the switch Sony do not make games for the ps5 concord was the last game and that was a huge turd 😆
Yes, bring back Killzone and especially Resistance. Yes, Socom and a modern MAG!
no please don't. the original developers of those games are long gone and what took their place are woke weirdos.
Sony didn’t learn their lesson with the beginning of the PS3. The PS3 eventually became one of the best systems ever, but I’m not sure how they’ll turn this around with the PS5
Given that the PS5 is still tracking close to where the PS4 was at the same point in its lifecycle, they see no reason to. I have no idea how the PS5 has managed to sell this much when it doesn't have that many appealing games (especially exclusives, even multiplats feel lacking compared to other consoles 4 years in), and it hasn't seen a price drop, the digital model saw a price increase.
@@BigOnAnime94 I feel with some people having PS5 is a status statement. Maybe it’ll wear off, but I feel that’s the case rn
@@428Dart With how enormous the original model is which is a perfect metaphor for Sony's and Jim Ryan's ego this generation, wouldn't surprise me if that's the case for some.
Sony moved thier HQ to California in 2016 or 2017 🤔 that's when they started censoring thier Japanese games, which on switch they didn't and pc, so i moved to Switch and PC and haven't been back
No, they _renamed_ their American branch's entertainment headquarters to "Sony Interactive Entertainment" in 2016, but it had been in that California location since 1993 under the "Sony Computer Entertainment" name. Sony corporate's American headquarters is in New York.
@@blast_processing6577 You're misunderstanding in multiple replies.
Sony made the US branch the lead branch then, we know what the californian branch was called.

Still baffles me that we haven't gotten an Ape Escape since like PSP, Sony is just sitting on it despite it being a recognizable CLASSIC Sony IP 🐵🤔
When I see IGN I know better
I get more excited about the new Atari releases than anything Sony and Microsft announces. ‘True’ console gaming, in my opinion, died with Xbox 360 and PS3. Nintendo systems, retro, and PC is where it’s at now.
Who in the heck on that dev team looked at that Concord lizard dude (and the other characters frankly) and thought "yeah, this guy looks cool!"
That last bye he gave was heart wrenching...
Excellent video. Started strong and finished stronger! Good mam!
One thing Sony has is astrobot, that little dude is awesome!
The problem is that, that game isn't even original concept.
@@QuantumChrist doesn't have to be original concept to be a great game. It's about execution that makes games good.
Totally agree, i have been gaming since 1990, and i feel lack of talent & forced DEI destroyed most gaming probably since 2016-18 onwards. Switch is my last bastion, and games like 'Shadow of the ninja Reborn' my hope.
What went wrong ? Well… “go woke go broke!” And other cultural shifts ruined Sony
What's the definition of woke in your mind?
Swapping characters races or sex from original character. Removing or censoring stuff from original games and crap storyline telling involving DEI
Them were my starting days, The atari 2600, Vectrex, Zx spectrum, Amiga, IBM pc then consoles back on to pc for many years, It's been one hell of a ride for gaming over the generations 🥰
A reset is coming.
The intro speech was from the heart and reminds me of the song Landslide. So true.
Listen I got this gamecube and it plays all sorts of games consoles are still alive for me dammit 😢
I have come to find I don’t use my ps5 for games anymore. But when I got a switch I have loads of fun playing all the amazing exclusive games.
Jim Ryan was the worst thing happened to PlayStation
Im only looking foward to Metal gear Delta and wolverine. Thank god for retro gaming and a massive backlog of games
Nintendo is still going strong. It's Sony and the hexbox that have the problem
Here we go again. Console gamers will for the most part continue to play on consoles.
Never play on my PS5. I now only play retro on my raspberry pi. Resistance was an awesome game. Thanks, Ron, for all your efforts.
I miss games like Dark Sector, Dante's Inferno, Kameo, Chronicles of Riddick, Og God of War,Twisted Metal Black so on and so on.
I'm a late 80's kid myself broski ! Games suck now ! Visions of mana has been awesome though one of my favorite games since horizen west and final fantasy 7 remake 2 ! Now I'm very picky with what i buy , if the game isn't 100% physical on disk or has any woke ageda bs in it i don't spend any money anymore on newer games. I'll never buy or waste my time either with online only nonsense where they control everything you do when your just trying to enjoy your game .
All the games Sony are bringing back sounds good as long as they don't add woke.
expecting Sony not to add woke is like asking a snake not to eat mice
I always thought Nintendo was dropping the ball with every system release since the 64. Turns out they’re playing that 4D chess. I think they will be the only company making physical consoles into the future. I feel like everyone else will be some sort of streaming service
