The bags for the homeless are such a thoughtful idea 🥺♥ Sundays are better in downtown Dallas for doing stuff for people experiencing homelessness as most businesses are closed.

Im doing my Interinship this summer in the homeless hospitality and these are the things people donate for them:
Wallets for men and women would be helpful they tend to lose their ids social security’s etc
Pads and tampons for women many women come in looking for these things
We let them shower, travel soap, hair conditioner and shampoo
Also toothpaste and tooth brushes they use that a lot at the shelter
Towels when they come in to shower
Water is good for donations they are often under the sun and they like to go out to the light with their signs and they forget to stay hydrated
Socks are very helpful we always get clients want socks not only that but underwear and panties
We had a client come in with a baby and she didn’t have wipes or diapers for her baby
Deodorant we keep those upfront and they can grab to keep up with their hygiene
Jeans are very useful and shorts during the summer

McKenna I think that’s awesome and very thoughtful what you an Erin’s mom are doing for the homeless. I pray that one day I be financially stable to do those things again but more . I use to do it with my kids when we lived in Houston years ago, just so they can see what other people go through so they can appreciate the things that I could do for them more…and we also volunteered to help serve food on thanksgiving and they loved it! My oldest LOVES helping the homeless. That’s a ministry I know he will def be doing when he is older. Def let us know when y’all do it again! He’s always trying to find groups and ways to help them.

The backpack was so nice. As someone who works with the homeless, homeless women are always in need of either pads and/or tampons. I truly appreciate you honoring those you helped by respecting their privacy and allowing them to not compromise their dignity in exchange for help.
I wish I lived closer to you so i can help with the backpack initiative. I love doing things like making care kits and things for people.

I am loving this book pack initiative. Currently, I’m giving money, water and the fluorescent vest to the homeless. I am going to incorporate the book bags. Adding in a first aid kit, maybe some jerky, toothbrush and toothpaste. I like the idea of tshirts. For me, I rather not film them during their hardship. So love that you’re doing this💗
I love that you're helping the homeless. We have alot in my area as well. We used to help but they were so unappreciated.
