I'm 30 and I wear this everyday to work: spring, summer, winter, fall. I work in a casual environment, and I use one spray to the chest. It starts out strong, but ends the day as a leathery musk. It has a nice evolution. It also has great longevity. Maybe the older stuff was that much better (??), or maybe people get nostalgic and misremember like they do with everything else. I'm more than happy with the performance of the "new" stuff
This is funny :D For me it's the other way round. I try it again every couple of years to see if I finally matured enough to like it but it is the absolute worst fragrance to me lol
@@serenitybybean lol I'm kind of on board with you. I blind bought with so many great raving reviews. It opens like you came out from working under a car. It may appeal to dainty guys who never worked on cars, fixed their own cars or whatever. I work fix my own car, whatever, my motorcycle etc..opening scent, literally I was like, jesus, I smell just like when I wear dirty grime oiled clothes repairing my car! There is NOTHING added to that scent. HOW IS THAT APPEALING, ESPECIALLY TO WOMEN?? Whenever I work on my car and go to the store for a part, I NEVER SAW A WOMAN FIND ME APPEALING. Idk, I'm gonna give it another go today. It doesnt smell like gasoline, it smells like diesel oil. THAT does not smell appealing. No mechanic that is dirty and grimy thinks its sexy. He thinks he STINKS. If I wanna smell like this, I'll fix my car first, then NOT SHOWER and go on a date. Ridiculous reviews by some people, who are pencil pushers, not real men. They have this fantasy about smelling like a real handy man without the labor.
When I first smelled this , I thought oh no it smells like gas lol. It was a blind buy for me. But it did grow on me . If you get past the intense opening , the dry down is awesome ! To this day I love it !
started using this fragrance when it came out in '88 and found that the uniqueness of the scent got lots of compliments and was a real head turner. Now in my more mature years, it still rocks, and lends itself to the mature masculinity side of life despite the graying mustache. lol Very awesome scent, worth every penny. Excellent review by the way!
I just smelled it in the duty free shop at the airport. I was never interested in smells but this made me addictive. And why am I watching this video XD
Fahrenheit still smells avant-garde and completely unique 32 years after it was launched. It was hugely popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was the Sauvage of that time - everybody seemed to be wearing it and it garnered lots of compliments.
Great video! I'm born in December 1988 :-) Dior Fahrenheit is my signature scent. I got a relatively small fragrance collection (about 25 bottles) but NOTHING surpasses Fahrenheit. That petrol scent in the opening is just pure magic, and the overall "bad boy" vibe suits my personality quite well (so I've been told by men and women alike..). I love using the deodorant stick daily, and aftershave balm when I've shaved. Can't wait to try a 2017 formulation, gonna stock up on a couple of 200 ml bottles when I'm done with my current one from 2016, which will be quite soon.
Smelled this on a tester at sephoras a few times and it grabbed me. Finally went in and doused myself and went about my day. Recieved 3 complements in a few hours confirming my suspicion, went back and purchased a bottle. I'm in love with this scent! So leathery, burnt tire and auto shopish.
Great review...one of my favourite scents ....it reminds me my choldhood in the late eighties- early nineties....it inmediatley transports me to that period in my life
Definitely unique, there isn’t anything like it. Not sure if it was ahead of its time only because I like to think of it as a timeless classic. Great video as always.
After watching this review I finally purchased a bottle of Fahrenheit for the first time. OH. MY. GOD. Why didn't I buy this years ago??? I LOVE this stuff! I'm pretty new to the fragrance game but I can't believe Fahrenheit has been around for as long as it has and it's still so unique. I had three women at work tell me I smelled great! One was early 20's, one early 40's, and the the last one was pushing 70. I'm just sad I missed out on the original formulation.
I have aqua and parfum fahrenheit. Strange that I had bought both of those and had never tried the original edt fahrenheit. Last week I got my first sniff of fahrenheit edt and I was amazed how good it is. Its not weak at all...I could instantly smell the gasoline smell I had read everyone talk about...What a great scent. I can understand some people not liking it or finding it hard to wear. Its quite potent for an edt. Its very manly. It will make you smell like a mechanic or a builder. Like petrol, tarmac and cement...If you collect frags or have a small collection then you need this in it. Not sure you'll need the big 200ml bottle though so don't worry and just get a 100ml. £90 vs £62 though.
U said exactly what I'm thinking Steven when i first got this i was unsure of it As U said Very Unique I've warmed it over time I Really smell the Leather n Violet the most
I wear it 'bout 2 years and still counting. all my friends and relations love the smell. and fit on my country which have tropical climate and long rainny season here. recommended fragrance for who love adventure and nature
My number one compliment getter of all time! Boy do I have stories about this fragrance. It does not smell as great as it did when it was introduced, but nonetheless it is still a top notch fragrance without a doubt.
Yesterday I saw your video with "Street Scents" reviewing the Parfum version of this fragrance and I got really interested in that one! I love Aqua Fahrenheit, but the original one it's not my cup of tea... I like it, but far from love it. Great review as always! Have a great weekend!
Yep, the Parfum version is also a masterpiece (I hated it at first but it grew on me FAST). It's like stronger, metrosexual version of Fahrenheit, where the petrol has been substituted for booze and vanilla. I'd love to try Aqua but it's been replaced by Cologne, which in my opinion is pretty mediocre.
I love Fahrenheit but I'm concerned about the musky dry down. I tend to associate that masculine murkiness with those old man Walmart colognes like Stetson and Old Spice, although I would say that Fahrenheit musk smells more expensive and sophisticated. My question is, is it just me who notices this? Does the casual person around me pick up on the sophisticated musk smell, or to the casual person is it just another Stetson, Old-man, Walmart smell? I ask this because as much as I like it, I can't help feeling a little insecure when I wear it. Dilemma.
I can always tell when Steven likes a certain fragrance, just because of his intro. The more he likes a fragrance, the higher his energy is in the begginning of the video. Anyone else notice that, or is it just me?
I remember this in the late 90s..I lad I worked with had it on...funny almost plastic burnt smell.. definitely unique and I've had a few bottles..it's abit of a unusual one...lasts forever and a winner for me..
Hello Steven. I put in your code to receive 20 percent off however the code expired April 17, 2017. Just wanted you to know. Thank you for always giving such professional reviews. You stand alone well. Theodore W. Munir
This timeless masterpiece is in my opinion still relevant after more than 20 years of its release and to this day nothing smells like it. yes there are many clones or imitation like Mercedes Benz Intense but besides the copycats when you smell that amazing gasoline note, i know that sounds weird but men it is so captivating it will blanket you in this bad boy yet stylish scent that is perfect for night out occasions. A true masterpiece way to go Dior!!!!!
Fahrenheit is a classic.I have DH and DHi which are polarizing as well but Fahrenheit is still King, probably for work too or with the leather jacket and ripped jeans.
I’ve got weird skin chemistry I think. There’s a few frags I have that are all about their dry down. The problem comes when on me, the dry down is a whole working day. I get the initial gas note, wet tobacco and a little citrus, that’s it, never goes anywhere and that’s with 2 pumps or 6 pumps. I’ve got a Fahrenheit clone that is far and away better in every way. Le Parfum on the other hand is really good!
Redolessence it doesn't seem strong or aggressive but rather soft and subdued. I enjoy the smell but wish it was stronger. Thinking of getting a 6.8 bottle
I have to be honest, it is nice but very strong and intense. I love Fahrenheit by Dior but in my opinion it’s a very small window of when it would be appropriate to wear.
I have heard people complain about Fahrenheit, it's smells like burnt tires? I think people are not wearing properly. You should wear Fahrenheit or any strong fragrance low, on your calf or hip. This will give the fragrance more distance to permiate in the air and won't choke people out.
Steven. Great review of one of the best fragances of all time. Strange to see the low score it has in the fragantica page. I am looking for a couple of classics fragrances. Which one would do you prefer among the following? Chanel Egoiste. Chanel Antaeus. YSL Opium. Habit Rouge. Heritage. Eau Sauvage. Appreciate your help.
I had one of these back in the early 90's but Im sure the bottle was slightly different. It didnt have the yellow, moreso red to black or dark blue. As long as it smells the same cos it was one of my favourites alongside Tommy.
I‘m gonna be real… I‘m quite young (20), but I absolutely fell in love with Fahrenheit and I bought is because of that😂Maybe not exactly the age it’s intended to be worn by, don’t really care though, I‘ve smelled quite a lot of fragrances by now and I have never smelled a single one that I like more.
I got my 1st bottle man it brought back memories I smelled this at every New Years party 🎉 in Miami as a kid wow it’s got a funky Diesel smell that’s wonderful I got it just for my collection and it’s next to Savauge 😂😂😎
@@Redolessence My dad owned a 1990 batch bottle, me as a kid used to sneak a few sprays, it was love at first smell. I owned a 2009 batch and a 2011 batch... Still love it! Soon I'll go for my third.
I remember it had a gasoline smell to it , but in a good way. The last bottle of it I received was much sweeter and toned down, than I remember. Don't know if it is just my imagination.
Steven ive noticed a lot of reviewers don't distinguish between violet (violet flower) and violet leaf when reviewing fragrances with either of the two notes. To me theres a huge difference..for instance the violet leaf in the top notes of fahrenheit compared to the powdery violet flower in dsquared Rocky mountain wood. Why do you think some people treat them as if they're the same note when theyre very different aromas . ive been wondering that as i have recently been researching fragrances with violet as a note. Maybe I'm completely wrong on this topic but id like to hear your opinion.
Awesome video! Fahrenheit is my favourite fragrance, incidentally made in 1988, which is also the year of my birth! Had a quick question, since I live in India which is very hot during summers, could you recommend any fragrance apt for summer which is closest to Fahrenheit, since the latter gets a little too strong in the heat!! Thanks Cheers
+Pratik Katre We were born in the same year! I would honestly recommend Fahrenheit Cologne if it's everything people are saying it is. It's a lighter version of the original, and it's suitable for hotter weather. Aqua Fahrenheit is good, too, but I know many who don't care for it too much. I would say sample both and get the one you like better!
Would you be so kind as to list batch code and batch date on that bottle? I tried a tester at Macy's Herald Square recently, and I agree with your longevity estimate. I think I would have to wear this alot more to get used to it. Back in 1988. it was never that high on my list for a purchase. I really enjoyed Obsession back then (what a powerhouse that was!). Maybe that's why I liked Halston Catalyst so much when it came out in 1994.
Hey Stephen, I just managed to get a mini spash bottle from what I believe is the the first reformulation? (Box has a blue top with "Dior" written in red) definitely get with violet/petrol vibe. Is this one of the better reforms compared to one's that came after it? Anyway I love it amd this might be a steal as I got it for 3 bucks with free shipping. Got a decant of the parfum concentration coming in a couple days! Absolute masterpieces!
Hey steve! I recently purchased Fahrenheit 200ml, according to the batch code it's 2016 formulation. I found each and everything legit but the problem is I am not getting enough performance from it. Within 2 hours it's gone. But on tissue paper it is lasting for 2 days. Do you think i got a counterfeit?
I’ve heard this is more for a man with a leather jacket/rugged look. I’m more of a jumper/sweater vest guy, should I buy this or the le parfum one? I smelt both today and can’t decide which one and does it really matter what clothes you wear with it?
Yes, in 1988 Fahrenheit EDT was absolutely amazing!! But, unfortunately it has been reformulated since then.... The current 2017 formulation has no longevity or sillage. It becomes a skin scent for me after about 2 hrs. I love Christian Dior (my favourite is Dior Homme EDT), but don't waste your money on this one, unless you can buy a vintage bottle.
The first time I smelled it, I absolutely hated it. Thought it was disgusting. Then it grew on me and now I love it. Definitely not for everyone like a blue fragrance.
Back in 1987 I used Jovan😬😬🤣🤣🤣and I switch it to this Fahrenheit and the smell on this I noticed even more scent after 8 hrs and your sweating is much better 👍👍👍
Hey! I'm trying to find a fresh, aquatic fragrance for women, I can't seem to find any really beautiful ones. Can you give me a few recommendations? Thank you in advance, love watching these reviews.
Would you suggest this for the high heat? I live in Singapore and I own a bottle, but never worn it to the office (I work in a resort-open air) because I don't wanna choke people out or make them feel uncomfortable with the strong gasoline/leather note.
I'm kicking myself that I never thought to try Fahrenheit sooner. Where have you been all my life? I've been wasting so much time. I ordered a bottle instantly. I feel like we are going to be inseparable friends. I wore a bit of a Creed Aventus sample to work, today. I can tell why it's highly regarded but it isn't for me. I didn't feel as good as I did yesterday, with Fahrenheit. So after a couple of hours I put Fahrenheit on the same area. I honestly felt better and more at ease with myself for the rest of the day.
Great Review This is a great fragrance I got my first bottle in 2011 but I prefer the vintage formulation it smells awesome I have the one with the cream color on the box I do wear it and still projects like crazy for being old anyways great review
back at the day early when i first got into fragrance game i hate this scent yees "HATE" but 16 years have passed now i'm 26 years old and i consider this scent "one of the best scent of all time".
I love this scent but for some reason I just can't get into rocking it personally. The reason being is that petroleum like note is just too strong on my skin and although I like it it just doesn't fit my personality. This is a beast on my skin as it lasts 10-16 hours and with only 2 sprays projects borderline beast mode for 3 hours.
this fragrance when I checked out the customer reviews. I went through 10 pages all of them from top to bottom gives it a five stars !! I really bought it . just to know why a gasoline kind of smell has so many 5 stars ?!! never seeing such a likable fragrance . such as this one the perfume everywhere is out of stock !!
I have the first 1988 formulation- this juice is STUNNING! Doesn't smell dated at ALLL! Violety leather with no cloying sweetness. Just unique and incredibly sexy! Fits right in with modern day masculine scents unlike Kouros or Polo green.
It's been part of my collection since it first came out. However, I'm disappointed because the latest bottle I purchased doesn't smell the same to me. Has it been reformulated?
Does this sorta smell like gucci guilty absolute? I already own gga(which i love) and am not sure if i should blind buy fahrenheit. Looking at a 1.7 on ebay for 40 bucks...yay or nay?
Fahrenheit is my absolute fav of all fragrances, also my wife's fav along Aqua Di Gio Profumo. I'm 27, I remember my dad wearing it when I was little, in this case it brings back memories to me :D
Wow. Steve was born 2 years after Obsession was introduced, 6 years after Drakkar Noir came out, 10 years after Azzaro Pour Homme was introduced, 11 years after the NYC blackout of 1977, 15 years after Paco Rabanne Pour Homme hit the market, 16 years after I saw John Lennon at Madison Square Garden and 24 years after the Beatles played the Ed Sullivan Show, to put it all into perspective. In other words Steve was born the year I inexplicably purchased a bottle of the then just released Cool Water. I wanted to throw a party when I finally finished that bottle. The poor guy missed all the powerhouse formulations of the 1970's and 1980's classics!
Also probably comes across as older because of his enormous collection, suggesting he is well-off financially, a trait usually associated with at least 30-somethings and up.
beautiful take Steven , wow you wear born in 1988 tham your a baby , I have the Aqua version and even though I like seems somewhat hard for me to reach for it...much health bro
I got one flask today. It seemed to be ok on paper when I tried it on the store. Later on my skin didn't like it too much, but when I think of leather and violet I find it ok again XD
Redolessence you know what? This is my second day wearing Fahrenheit and after 2-3 hours I can smell myself but the fragrance makes me wonder: what am I wearing today? Narciso for him??? Oh no wait, Fahrenheit!!! I get whiffs of violet 🍃leaves. Could it be?

I’ve been wearing Fahrenheit since 1992 it’s one of my signature colognes in my collection.
Wow had no idea you were my age, I mean that in a good way, very knowledgeable my man keep it up
A buddy let me try it. (I’ve worn Armani’s AdG Profumo for years). It was an unpleasant departure. It smelled like industrial chemicals.
I remember it had a gasoline smell to it , but in a good way. The last bottle of it I received was much sweeter and toned down, than I remember. Don't know if it is just my imagination.
Thank you for watching!
The newest formulation is actually pretty good.
I think you're totally right! Thank you for sharing!
Redolessence Haha true yes born in the same year!! Thank you for your valuable inputs I will definitely check both of them out! Cheers
ISO e super, violet leafs, and gasoline. Perfection.
Daniel Iger Very well put!
thanks! Great to hear your take on this classic.
And In the opening: honeysuckle!!! 🤗
But why the box look different ? Before it was mostly Red smh hope it doesn't change the liquid scent too..
My very first bottle of cologne. A gem. This and Wings for men will always be in my rotation.
Thank you for watching!
I own a vintage from the 90's and it's far stronger and much better performance than the newer versions. Definitely worth the extra cash.
I got a 2011 edition of this fragrance and its amazing. A must have bottle!
Thank you very much! I would recommend Tomorrow by Tokyo Milk! That one is an aquatic, but it's a bit salty as well! I hope you like it!
Great cologne!Wore it 25 yrs back and recently started on it again.
Great Review This is a great fragrance I got my first bottle in 2011 but I prefer the vintage formulation it smells awesome I have the one with the cream color on the box I do wear it and still projects like crazy for being old anyways great review
Thank you for watching!
I bought a 6.8 bottle and it does smell like gasoline but I kinda like it.
Haha. Many people would agree with you!
Cazzo dici
back at the day early when i first got into fragrance game i hate this scent yees "HATE" but 16 years have passed now i'm 26 years old and i consider this scent "one of the best scent of all time".
I think it also starts to smell even better when you get sweaty or hotter
Old fragrance of mine. I wasn't really keen on it but I got it as a present so can't complain
Thank you for watching!
this fragrance when I checked out the customer reviews.
King kouros
Polo green is evergreen . Better than any Farenheit or kouros
It's been part of my collection since it first came out. However, I'm disappointed because the latest bottle I purchased doesn't smell the same to me. Has it been reformulated?
Finally review of Fahrenheit
Thank you for watching!
i think that this scent started what we know now as niche smelling
Does this sorta smell like gucci guilty absolute? I already own gga(which i love) and am not sure if i should blind buy fahrenheit. Looking at a 1.7 on ebay for 40 bucks...yay or nay?
Old yet not over thrown on its CLASS ❣.
sweet citrus moveover..
Era of warm leather is back🥰
Fahrenheit is my absolute fav of all fragrances, also my wife's fav along Aqua Di Gio Profumo.
I'm 27, I remember my dad wearing it when I was little, in this case it brings back memories to me :D
That's awesome! Also great that the wife likes them!
just added this to my collection today, i assume its the latest reformulation as its batch codes shows dec 2016
You were born in 1988?! I had no idea you were that young!
Indeed! Thank you for watching!
I actually always thought he was a mature 26 to 27. I think he comes across as older because of his often well-dressed and well-spoken manner.
Also probably comes across as older because of his enormous collection, suggesting he is well-off financially, a trait usually associated with at least 30-somethings and up.
What are your thoughts about Aqua Fahrenheit? Tnx.
+Ariel Gabriel Maizo Not one of my favorites! Haha
beautiful take Steven , wow you wear born in 1988 tham your a baby , I have the Aqua version and even though I like seems somewhat hard for me to reach for it...much health bro
Thank you for watching! Yeah, still in my 20s!
awesome Steven your pretty talented men...
I got one flask today. It seemed to be ok on paper when I tried it on the store. Later on my skin didn't like it too much, but when I think of leather and violet I find it ok again XD
Haha. Fahrenheit is a classic.
Everytime I wear it someone says it smells like cucumbers and flowers. Never a gas smell
which one in dior fahrenheit should one buy. edt or edp. which is best
Some say it has gasoline as a note, I don't smell it though
