Honestly I feel like a lot of young trans people used to have shitty views on things like neo pronouns etc,, I know I did. I think projecting insecurities was a big part, but I think biggest reason was just the conversations that were being had at the time. They were dominated by people who had those toxic opinions, so it was very hard to escape from. If someone has made a clear effort to change, I don’t think it’s fair to hold it against them,, especially all the young trans people who, at the end of the day, were just shitty teens trying to feel accepted.
Hi moe!!!!!
hi moe!! you're amazing!!
Now that it feels like there are SO many people on the internet talking openly about these things, i feel like I’ve been able to open up myself to neopronouns, etc. because I don’t feel threatened to prove my transness anymore
Yea I Think Blaire white and Kalvin garrah is a large part of this tbh
I myself went through a transmed phase and was a bit of a dick not gonna lie and was very iffy about things like neopronouns. now a few years down the line I have not only realised that everyone should get to use pronouns that make them feel comfy and no one should police another person's name, gender or pronouns but I actually use neopronouns myself! It's wierd to see how many folks I know that have had a similar experience but I'm glad to see that at least within the community most people have learned and grown and are alot more accepting of things like neopronouns.
"It is not the fault of pansexuals that people misinterpret what pansexuality is" THANK YOU!
YES
I’m glad people aren’t so worried about labels anymore because it’s helped me realize that my sexuality isn’t that important and I’ll figure it out at some point. I know I’m nonbinary but I honestly have no idea what my sexuality is. If I had to choose rn I’d probably say I’m pan or queer but I’m not really sure and that’s okay
This! I'm the opposite 😂 I've figured out I'm pan but my gender is this weird clusterfuck I can't find a label I like for
Hells yeah
@Aaron Brincefield just because a lot of us find comfort in finally having words to express who we are, doesn't mean that we think its wrong for someone to say they don't want to label themself. labels don't define you, you do and if you find words that match that then great, but no one owes it to anyone else to label themself.
Omg same except ik neither about my sexuality or gender, i just know i want to bind and keep my hair short.

Yeah exactly. Which is why I feel bad for Shane. He's done everything possible to apologize for what he's done in the past, and it's clear he's changed and matured so much since making content like that.
@@jaimieandjosh the people you surround yourself with often reflect the kind of person you are and he's still friends with Trisha and Jeffree who are both openly shitty people. not to mention that he didn't just say disgusting and weird things, he did disgusting and weird things too. pedophilic things. racist things. over and over again.
Have you cancelled cancel culture?
@@epenner9337 heheh that made me laugh, and it’s a good point - but no. I disagree with cancel culture, but I wouldn’t force anyone else to agree with me. So, to me, that’s not cancelling
The fact that Noah takes full responsibility for having different opinions to his childhood self where other much older creators can't take responsibility for their current racism, homophobia, etc is astounding
We need to accept that people can grow and change especially when they're young.
this ^^
I know, I hate it when people call out artists and things because of what they said when they were younger, especially if they said t before they were in the limelight. 💞
@@iamalimelight2346 Yeah I agree. I think it should be called out but once an artist has apologised and engages in activism to showcase they have truly changed, rather than just apologising for the sake of it, then it should just be accepted as an honest mistake. If someone is repeatedly going around being racist or homophobic etc and just keeps apologising and doesn't seem to change after years then that's when it becomes a problem.
Omg YES, thank you for this comment!
I feel like this is something cancel culture often doesn't acknowledge. I hold the believe that we are all assholes in some way & we'll never be perfect so why should we hold famous ppl to these standards? a person can be someone completely different in a short period of time bc we constantly keep changing.

Takes a lot of maturity to make a video like this-really cool. I still don’t understand neo pronouns but I guess, even though I don’t understand it, it doesn’t mean those who use them should be criticized. Thanks for opening up the dialogue
me , a pansexual trans dude who uses neopronouns : awe yeah . character development
which neopronouns do you use? just wondering, i'm not very educated in the topic and would like to know about more people's gender identities :)
@Rebecca ALLISON neopronouns are pronouns that people use other than he/him, she/her, and they/them. a common one people use is xe/xer, though there is a huge diverse number of neopronouns people use. for instance, I know someone who uses the pronouns bun/bunself. from what I know about neopronouns(I do not use them so please correct me if I'm wrong) many people who use them tend to be neodivergent. because their brains work differently their way of veiwing gender may be different from someone who is not neodivergent. from what I heard from one person (I'm not going to say this is the experience of every person who uses them, just the explanation this person in particular used), people who use neopronouns tend to hyper fixate on certain words/concepts. this hyperfixiation can actually give them gender euphoria. being referred to as that word can make them feel more comfortable with their gender and just make more sense then he/him, she/her, or they/them. some people even use multiple sets of pronouns. they may use he/they pronouns but also use neopronouns as well. it's just depends on the person. once again, I do not use neopronouns. if you want to add something or correct me please do. I'm new to the concept of neopronouns as well.

I love this video! ✨Growth✨
I’m pansexual. I went back and forth on what my sexual orientation was for a long time. In my experience, people who are bi are typically attracted to certain types of people (I.e. feminine women/ masculine men) To me, being pan is when you’re generally attracted to the same characteristics regardless of if those characteristics belong to someone who is a man, woman, nonbinary, etc.
Well according to your definition, I am pan then 🥳 I mean I am switching from bi to pan and back for years now xD XOXO
Yeah definitely, I'm bi because I'm attracted to a gender BECAUSE they are that gender, as opposed to being attracted to people regardless of their identity.
Ok i might not be pan, because the way people get raised by society is strongly related to how they are seen from society. And since gender is a really big part so someones Identity i will not be blind for it. It just makes no difference for my atraction. But for the relationship, because cis men really cant relate to as much as my problems as for example trans womens do. So i am bi... right ?
Nothing against you i am just troubleing since ages to know which one. My best bet was mostly bi do i will continue with it...
@@berndbananebauer2759 Bi means multiple genders so pan people are bi. As in squares are rectangles but are also a valid shape. Pan is more specific but your not wrong if you say bi. People often say both and a lot of people who fit the definition of pan only use bi. I usually use it as an umbrella term. The bibrella includes pan people. (Not to say that pan people have to call themselves bi.) I identify as bi and not as pan because I’m attracted to different things in women and afab non-binary people than I am in men and amab non-binary people. That doesn’t mean that pan people don’t notice the gender or avoid red flags in certain genders that don’t apply to others ( ex men raiseing their voices can be scary while it tends to be less so with women.) The end of the day, labels don’t really matter if you’re comfortable with a label then use the label. The only real use for them is declaring who you’re attracted to. Unless they’re a bigot, no one is going to care what you identify as.
@@alicat7633 I was just about to comment this! As someone who identifies as pan, understanding pansexual as being a label under the umbrella of bisexual just makes so much sense to me! I feel like a lot of pan/bi discourse can be resolved by using this definition. Plus there are plenty of bi people who are attracted to multiple genders but not all genders and they usually get over looked when people argue that pan and bi are the same so really this definition seems like a win win situation
Little explanation: He/Him Lesbians used to stand for lesbians who wrote themselves off as men to marry their lover. It now stands for closeted lesbians and closeted lesbian trans women. It's a group of supportive women who are closeted who help eachother. This does not necessarily mean they use the pronouns but that they hide behind them. Lesbian women having to say he/him for their lovers and transwomen having to be misgendered. I hope this clears things up more or less.
ohhh that makes a lot more sense thank you for clearing this up, as a lesbian myself i was so confused and kinda angry about he/him lesbians but this explanation makes a lot of sense :)
Thanks! I really needed this explanation, always wondered what he/him lesbians really meant^^
@@nonkdonk5896 Yes and honestly I don't have an explanation for those who do. I do think it is affecting the view of this group who are supporting eachother and I wanted to point that out. Though the women who do use he/him are very little so :/ I don't care much about them and I would rather this group get less hate.
There's probably some femme enby folks that use he/him pronouns (edit: more common when they're okay with all pronouns) and identify as lesbians. It's a big world out there, and hey, they're valid too :)
@@mariposaarts To my knowledge he/him lesbians who aren't closeted trans women or trans at all simply use these pronouns because it makes them feel comfortable. Pronouns are not always gendered - most people use them in a way that traditionally aligns with their gender (she/her for women, he/him for men, they/them or neopronouns for nonbinary people) but there are men/women who use they/them and nonbinary people who use she/her or he/him, simply because it's the pronoun that makes them feel the most comfortable. A lot of cis lesbians also experience some level of alienation from womanhood because being a woman in society often entails liking men and centering them in your attraction. So they use he/him as an extension of that alienation. There doesn't have to be much more of a reason other than that it makes people comfortable. I think the idea that he/him lesbians who don't belong to this group you've described make the group look bad is harmful. Pronouns don't HAVE to be gendered. They are for most people, and of course we should respect trans people who do experience pronouns as gendered and want to be called the appropriate pronouns. But we should also respect trans and nonbinary and gender nonconforming cis people who use pronouns differently. It's not an either or.
I am really amazed of how mature that was. I love how you adress your mistakes without completely dragging yourself and on the other hand not trying to excuse what you did or said. Just a perfect balance. Huge respect man
As a bi person who is in a relationship with a pansexual, I find that the biggest difference isn't *who* were attracted to but *how* were attracted to them. For example the attraction I feel towards men is much different than the attraction I feel towards women, but for my partner it doesn't mean anything weather you identify as a man or woman if they're attracted to you they're going for it.

The mistake many people make when talking about he/him lesbians is assuming all he/him lesbians are cis women. Nonbinary people can be lesbians, and they can use any pronouns they are comfortable with. So there can be nonbinary lesbians who are most comfortable with he/him pronouns, but that doesn't mean they are damaging to the trans community, they are just expressing themselves.

There are some things I said at 18 that I would slap myself for, but I also have to be forgiving of it - youth, being in an abusive relationship at the time, general lack of information, etc. I am sure that me at 25 (five years from now) will wanna slap 20 year old me and will have to chill since my brain was still developing. Same for 25 to 30 (minus the brain development).
Still happy to see you reflect on your old comments, as you said, it is a fantastic way to realize how much you've learned and how much you still have to learn.
thx for the hug Noah. it actually helped :)
Thank you for this! I also used to think these things but just thinking a little harder into it, it’s really no one’s business so I stopped acting like I was protecting trans people when really I was just being a dick to situations I was unfamiliar with
When I saw the title my first thought was me too. I have a LOT of issues with myself so...
Noah, I love to see so much personal growth and confidence in you. For me personally it has always been the most difficult tasks to call out my own shitty behaviour and to give a sh*t about other people's opinion. It took me years and years of therapy but it's all been worth it.
To see such a young man as yourself showing that much self reflection makes me so happy :)
And thanks for the hug, I needed that 💚
i used to judge girls who wore makeup n short dresses/skirts and showed off their body (i never judged them to their face but im still embarrassed about it) and now thats exactly what i do
this is random but you’re so pretty!!
@@bannstrahl omg thank u sm
One good thing about being old is, none of my horrible teenage opinions wound up on the internet. I kept a journal, though, and some of the stuff I wrote makes me cringe now. Some of it is hilarious, though. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at your own stupidity.
i just really appreciate you making this video. it's such an important thing to acknowledge our mistakes as human beings learning about the world and coming to terms with our past ignorance. i had unsubscribed to you a while back and once you showed yourself learning from your mistakes in the past i immediately subscribed back because i do love most of your content and was very happy to see you grow as a person
Lots of respect! No one's perfect, people are always changing. This is why cancel culture usually sucks, we're all growing and improving. It's hard to call yourself out, so props to you
Bro, you have nooo idea how much i needed that hug...thank you, Noah
“The goal is to be comfortable, not understood” hit different.
It's important to grow, I used to have opinions that I completely disagree with now. It's more important to grow.
Very good how you went over differences between pan and bi. As a pansexual I need to stop going on Pinterest the amount of people on there that call themselves pan for liking trans people then go and complain about bisexual people makes us look bad.
Me looks at clock and realizes I am late to my class: Well.....oh well
Noah, I recently discovered you! I’m glad that you’re pointing out your faults and correcting yourself. You might just be my new favorite musician
the way i had these SAME opinions at the beginning of this year, and now i totally disagree, in fact i am now a he/him lesbian lol
INCREDIBLE character development
Congratulations! It takes a lot of courage to publicly admit you're wrong. Glad you're now comfortable with who you are.
congrats!!! ive gone through something similar!!!
the way i went through something very similar
hello i am very sorry for using u as an encyclopedia but I cannot find this anywhere, yknow how when an enby person says they use he/they pronouns people will refer to them as boy and stuff, but for he/him lesbians do you still use feminine terms? is it JUST the pronouns or does it also influence the terms you want people to use?
I looked at my Facebook history the other day from 12 years ago, one I didnt understand my own slang and two I said some very odd things... I was a mum but obviously very very young still. Safe to say I deleted A LOT of shizzel xxx
Noah: Have hug. I'm feeling so big brothery right now. Me: :,)
I think it is great that you are acknowledging that your opinions change and that it is good that opinions change. And that many of our opinions are going to change in our life.
