Back when everyone was hostile and had 2000-6000 cap bounty’s on them
Back when the stash was 400 lol
@@atomicrc_8303 And your camp could be blown up without even fighting
@@blamwoozled hahah yea....
No crafting as well, how painful it was to have to drop some legendaries because you have no space for it.
Everyone's first achievement of the week killing 50 players and 1 with a bounty, funniest and most toxic moments 2 week's into release
Back in my day, we only had 400 stash box limit!
Thank god that changed haha
Oh cripes yes!
You are a real one for that. I remember those days 😊
I was so excited when it bumped up to 600 and then 800. . . . immediately followed by the realization that I was going to fill it up no matter how much they gave me. Thank Todd for FO1 Scrap boxes!
I cant believe it launched like that 😅 no wonder i didnt play it for a couple years after the disastrous launch
Sorry, I was up in Boston during that time, helping out yet another settlement. lol
Lmao
Lol stupid garbie of the minutemen
bahaha ... me too....never did find that kid
Not now Preston I am being attacked by super mutants.
Same 😂
We kind of have our own lore and history with the game. Like in the storyline, when we exited V76, West Virginia was very empty and dead. Over time, it has started to repopulate and come back. Those of us from the beginning, we remember the desolate times, when we wandered alone, in silence.
Been here from beta
Back when the " Lone Wanderer " perk was absolute meta.
@@raymondcarter1137 I missed out on beta, but I got in a couple weeks after launch.
@@pitchlink4499 remember when jerks constantly attacked your base so we hid in cracks and built solid rock pyramids by the cliff and under the map so we don’t need to keep rebuilding.
🥲
I remember the night before wastelanders I went and took a bunch of pictures near by all these locations. Good times...
What a beautiful idea. I’d love to see your memories of this
Those We're the dark ages of 76. I remember them.
Figuratively and literally. I remember hating going to the Mire cos it was so pitch black at nights, it was impossible to see without the pip boy glow.
@@iSouleyx I miss the dark and long nights. I wish that Bethesda would bring those back.
Wish they could have a custom world with a pre wastelander build.
That would be a cool thing for them to add!
I'd love that
Pre Wastelanders... There are times where I kind of miss it.
I agree
As do I - peaceful. Lots of crashing, but peaceful…
The first Fasnacht Day event was so memorable everyone had basic camps we just chilled between events eating berry mentats so everyone couls glow purple
I agree them was the good old days I wish they still had NW
I did, then i realised its just nostalgia and not a better experience at all...
Still though, hits me now and then...
And Foundation was still called Spruce Knob and an abandoned BoS outpost.
Was heavily irradiated with super mutants
Only 76 OGs will remember the destructive power of the two shot explosive.
Oh and the ability to destroy other people's camps without provocation.
Rip to those times. I miss my 2 shot explosive ffr gatling plasma lol
The game had a different feel back then. Because paranoia would kick in fast when you saw 👀 another player. Don't turn your back or be caught buying from the vendors. Also if you had good scrap run. It was actually a crazier wasteland. P.s wish I had bought the Responders fireman outfit. When there was a vendor at the airport with it in his inventory.
Still got mine😂
The space station usually had a bunch of super mutants hanging around it, or occasionally ghouls. And Lewisburg would spawn
super mutants, ferals, or scorched, depending on how the RNG felt that day.
I had a camp close by there. I miss the emptyness
That's just your nostalgia talking. The emptiness was horrible, and the world felt so dead. I stopped playing after about level 30 cause it just felt like an empty shell of a Fallout game. The constant bugs, disconnects, crashes and numerous gameplay issues, as well as people cheating and using exploits were also a big turn off for me. When I came back with the release of Wastelanders, it was like night and day. A much more enjoyable experience.
@@BL00DYME55 Oh I did enjoy it though. We have so many cool camp spots before wastelanders came and booted the best spots out
Way back when there was a room that was accessible through a code on a keypad, that led to the only spawn for the Dirty Space suit
I remembering being so excited to see what they do with one of the most unique fallout locations out there and even had my camp on the hill for such a cool view, i then went on a long hiatus and came back several months ago to see it used as a raider camp.
My disappointment was tremendous.
Thanks for posting this. I've been playing since beta, and while the game as a whole is much better now, it's nice to remember it as it was.
I remember playing with some friends when this came out. After a couple weeks I was by myself and man the lonely atmosphere was bitter sweet. I feel extreme nostalgic when looking back at my old footage of this game and all the pictures I took. It truly felt like an empty wasteland after nuclear fallout. I don't think there will ever be a game that will leave an impression like this.
I had my camp to the south west at the time. Still have a pic of "crater" from underneath, taken from before the raiders moved in.
Back in my day we didn’t have no fancy schmancy ammo box or fusion core recharger
Back when pvp groups went to war.
That still happens in some servers.
Fun Fact: There was a keypad on there that had a secret room, the code was the release date of Fallout 76
I remember that!
I have before and after photos of foundation. Spruce Knob was my fave workshop to take over. 😊
I hated it, before Wasteland's addition got attacked by almost everybody that had a 'Bootlegged" weapon.
Personally as someone who loves lore I really liked walking through the scorch plague infested ruins discovering the story of how the Responders etc tried and failed to overcome both hostile factions and the plague (RIP Charlestown)
I remembered picking up the space suit there
Back when vault 94 was the original daily ops and one of the hardest to do because you need the right people
I remember when jerks used to assault your camp and you had to fortify them against attack when you were out in the wasteland.
I don’t want to go back to that.
I loved it back when all was quiet, you were on your own and you always had to wonder if you camp was going to be there when you returned. Love it still. Just a different time.
How has no one mentioned the fact that this was back in the day when ammo was hard to get and claiming the ammo factory was a 100% chance of a TON of pvp.
I miss the fights over the ammo factory lol
I do man I remember that I got a suit there thinking that it would help me in the death from above 1 minute in there I’m dead I started playing this game again I was a level 24 now I’m level 72 this game has changed so much
Had my first camp right outside the space station as a lead deposit was close by. Good times, I still have pictures of it that I’ll see in loading screens.
I played 76 at launch and explored most of the map and got to know it pretty well. Then i couldnt play for years until a month ago. Now i compare myself to Nate from fallout 4, getting frozen before everything changed and then waking up in an alien world. So now when i see all of the locations, i have flashbacks of how desolate they used to be. Foundation has to be the craziest one for me. I always thought it was such a cool interesting structre back then but like most of the locations, it was empty and meaningless. Wastlanders is far from perfect but im very grateful for the change bringing purpose to the game.
I remember the sheer emptiness of this game and then gradually seeing it start adding stuff now it's quite a bit different than when it originally released
Insert Elrond "I was there..." meme
Sometimes i wish we could choose to go back to the Pre-Wastelanders update to explore
It was an interesting feeling being lonesome for a while with everything empty and now seeing Appalachia change throughout the time I've played.
Loved this lost place. Sometimes I miss the old map without raiders or settlers.
Foundation was my favorite workshop to take.
It was honestly one of my favorite places to just go and hangout, once built a camp there.. but yeah.. rip
I miss it because where Foundation now sits we used to have a workshop that I took over regularly. And it was common there to have a scorch beast arrive you had to defend against.
I remember my bloodied explosive pump action shotgun did 2 shots on a scorchbeast and 1 shot everything else but tbh it was getting boring knowing you could kill everything easily.
Its alot better now that they've added humans to interact with and do quests, theres more events, map expansions and more weapons to experience.
I love this changes, like we are really seeing some factions taking certain points when time passed. I really adore the new responders base at collapsed slumber mill at the starter area.
I miss it the way it was
That was back when i would launch nukes and take photo ops with these type of landmarks as the centerpiece, my character playing a random instrument, and the nuke going off in the background
I have a legacy note of the code to the door from it, the release date of the game and i think it's really cool👍
I remember the emptiness, the 200 stash box space, the scorchbeast queen never landed, and extremely lagging
Compare Clancy Manor before the update that added the cultists, used to have a teddy bear cooking show set up there, now the bears are thrown in a box in the corner.
Yep ☹️
Lol I took a picture of myself back then and looted crap ton of clean space suits and helmets
i still got the Airlock C7 inventory list note when you find it at the time before the wastelanders update it is unobtainable naturally obtaining it but you can still get it off players that still have it
I remember! I had a core team I played with and CodyDangerous had a camp near there. None of my original team play FO76 anymore. This was my first time playing an online game and it was so fun making and chatting with new friends. No one is on the mike anymore.
I remember that there were supermutants at that location. Sometimes I miss the old locations before the wastelanders update.
I remeber the days when it was just a space station. I remeber on day 1 when the game came out I instantly went there to get the space suit 😂 ah so many good memories
It was rather disappointingly empty, but I still had fun with the game for a while. 🍻DTD dude
Don’t think I will ever say “I miss the holotape storyline days” lmao. Cheers again mate! Hope your well!
I recently got back into the game and I've been wondering why I've had to re-do Rose's missions!!
I remember finding this during the beta it was so cool and then they turned it into the crater for the Raiders !
I like it how it was. It felt apocalyptic and desolated. I loved that atmosphere. It would be nice if they reduced the amount of human NPCs walking around on the map.
I mightve died a million times trying to get to this at a low lvl. I remember when it was just the crashed space station. But I like it better with the raiders there. Quests from them to do and selling my stuff. I love this game. 😊
I remember this. I used to camp nearby and enjoy the evening view of the glowing radiation pools from my single staorcase scrap high-rise camp.
Been around since beta after I got out of the vault I rushed over to the water park to ride slides than booked it over to the space station I now have over 3000 hours and look back fondly over every hour
I remember them well. Used to go there and the workshop where Foundation is now, both to explore and to gather resources.
I'm from the beta of 76
Me too, quit after a few months cos they said Wastelanders was imminent...so 18 months passed lol.
@@feiryfella lol
I remember making it to the cranberry bog on the beta being level 4 I got deleted by 6 scorch beast
That is how the game should be. I miss the emptiness of the Appalachian Wasteland
Nooooo haha
It was rough playing fallout on release
Ya it was that high level location with no value
It was back in the day when you couldn't launch nukes because it was a new real life year
Yeah, I remember this. Mostly because the last time I was there, (before I took a long break and wastelanders came out), I fought a bunch supermutants there solo..
I was by no means a high level, I think maybe 16 at the time? And I didn't have any kind of build, just running around with whatever guns I liked or could get enough ammo for.
So finally beating them after a few minutes was something that meant a great deal to me! 😂
back when i was a wizard that had 78246521 frag grenades
It was a time where there was speculated lore or terminals telling of the spacestation's story pre/post war. There's still the possibility in the future, especially with Sophia it could be further expanded. Or A.T.H.E.N.A could gain interest and use the stations communications systems to further research their interest in nature. I kinda dread the idea that the raiders will have further interest in the station and will Kickstart some sort of quest. I'd personally like the Enclave to cross paths with it. But I only hope.
I joined before the settlers update.
It was pretty empty, but at least it sparked the return of F76.
honestly miss those days, 76 has come a long way tho.
I stopped playing like a week after it came out and just got back into it such a different game now wow
I know its just the rose-tinted glasses, but sometimes i miss the quiet loneliness of pre-wastelanders fo76
Yesir. Think I’ve still got the note with the password to get the old space suits from the air locked off section. Awesome short mate.
Most of the game was like this, 1 spot for.mothman eggs, 1 spot for cranberries!! Been play 76 since 2019
A bunch of super mutants too and there were clean space suits in it too
I was "in game there" but i knew of that location from lore vids before Appalachia got repopulated.
Crazy times 😅
Another Beta player here, This is kinda crazy lol. And I remember that horrendous 400 limit stash SMH. The game has definitely come a long way.
400 limit is another reason I quit for a while!
I still prefer somersville with muties, foundation being a workshop with acid extractors, lumber company having muties, and point pleasant was the home of the scorched!
Dude, yesterday whislet i was playing 76 I was running to crater when It was lagging to load in and I saw how crater looked with out the raiders stuff all placed everywhere.
Kind of ironic. I stopped playing the game when wastelanders released. I loved the concept that 76 originally put out.
This music has me wondering the Sahara Desert with my camel next to me.
I downloaded and played 76 on a trial when it first dropped. Never got back on after the trial as it fell too slow, too fallout 4, nothing new. I then went on a few years heavy run of call of duty until I redow loaded 76 about a month ago. I am so engrossed in 76 now that I haven't played COD since and have been losing precious time to 76 as hours feel like only minutes on the game.......I love it.
believe me or not me and my fallout group found the secret of lucky hole mine back in 2018 back in a time when most people ran with excavator power armor so we frequently visited the mine for it abundance of lead ore which eventually we stumbled upon both the hidden cave openings I'm not sure which one of us actually found it first doesn't matter we found it before it became a video or even a reddit thread.
As someone who pre ordered and got to level 50 before quitting out of boredom, it was okay
Ah I miss old airlock C7
Played FO76 since day one...
i been playing since beta even though I'm only lvl 100. I actually played as a guest a few times with you and ratty when it came out in 2018. this brings back memories
Gods, back when tse shotguns could one shot players without them accepting the pvp duel.
I took a photo of it in photodiode. When wasteland hit I lost all of photos of the game before it changed
There was chance to find a clean space helment in one of the lockers, but yep
Remember it being one of the only places to find a hazmat suit
When did the name change because I remember it vividly. I played super early on but never came back til 2 years later. Still playing
I still have my airlock memo from the crashed space station. I also miss nuclear winter
I played for two hours back then and didn’t pick it up til end of Pittsburg. I continue to play daily and YES it’s because of the Community ❤
I remember this back in the days when I played on PS4.
**sigh**
Does anyone else remember the car that had spices that was at the Whitespring's Train station?
maybe I'll buy one last month of PS Plus so I may go back and check out what has changed.
I took a break because the people I played with stop and It was also in a really rough spot on release (at least for me) and I saw that when I came back and I was suprised
With supermutants that Spond there !!! Love this vid ! 😂good old memories, playing with friends
The crashed space station i remember very well, but Spruce Knob workshop, not so much
You could get the space suit and helmet there I remember dying so many times from radiation poisoning and the stupid super mutants
You should do a video showing the vendor bot inside Morgantown airport , or the super mutants at the palace of the winding path.
Remember the first day of Beta and there were full servers all hanging out in flatwoods?
